I've been a sniper in the military since 1999, always had Casio Illuminator or G Shocks, but currently i use a ''Garmin Instinct Solar Tactical'', a top watch :)
I’ve had my Gshock since 2008. Solar powered and atomic clock set. Wore it every single day, original band. Never once had to touch it to set it or change batteries!
I'm a veteran...G-Shock Master of G all the way. I prefer the GA 1000 and I got my watch through the military supplier...$100.00 cheaper. Back in the day, a plain Swiss windable watch was the combat issue but, times have changed. Smart watches, gps, and shiny or bright colored finishes are a big no no, unless you want to get shot.
I have 2 of the toughest G-Shocks The Mudmaster GWG-1000 and the Rangeman GW-9400. Both shock resistant, solar-powered and come with triple sensors. They remain the best utility watches IMO. The watches that need charging every other day can barely be listed under "military / tough" watches.
I too own both of the watches that you mentioned and agree in that if a watch has to be charged that it shouldn't even be listed! Solar is all I'll own..
Be advised that US military regulations do not permit any brightly polished metal surfaces and must be subdued. Ceracoat is a very tough paint in these cases. NATO style nylon straps are recommended as silicon tends to tear and has trouble staying dry against skin.

The Bluetooth stuff is a privacy nightmare, that's why I avoid a lot of the newer solar models and spring for the older Rangemans and Japanese exclusive tough solar pieces. They don't even display the L.M.H meter on a lot of the newer tough solar pieces compatible with Bluetooth, so you literally have to use the app to know what level your battery is at. Can't be having that.

Hologram watches are not good for the militaries, I mean its always better to use digital watches for that situation. 2. Should have red light and not green or any different colors . That's 2 main and cheap points, I am not talking about EW and more . , I just bring 2 simple reasons 😊

get a blue tooth one like the gravity master or the new frogman and you can set all the settings on your app. the watch sets itself and charges itself . never have to touch it . The price range for these blue tooth watches is between 200 dollars and 1000 dollars .I highly recommend the analog frogman if you like analog watches. top watch imo can get it for 600 on ebay
