    Good stuff! We tried Hill Top at MT Charleston last weekend. Froze our backsides off. It was a bust. We left when it started snowing. Nice camp ground but nothing like Alaska.

      @Kadenventures  3 года назад

      Damn! Sorry to hear it was a bust, I heard Mt Charleston got a few inches of snow which is pretty crazy this early in the season (i think?) It was definitely way hotter last year around this time

    Thank you for sharing! Going to be van camping mid to late September, what was the temp range like for you? We'll have layers and +20 sleeping bags. Any tips for that variable Alaska weather to stay warm car camping much appreciated! :)

      Hi Kieran, minus a diesel heater or buddy heater, definitely layer up (good base layers, wool socks, beanie, etc), get a bunch of hand warmers and put them in your socks and pocks which will help a TON! I did a video on all my winter essentials here: ruclips.net/video/spZgQ_qTxrE/видео.html Hope that helps, have a great time out there & Safe Travels. Cheers!

    Thank you for this video. I grew up in Alaska and am returning this summer for 3-4 months camping out of my Outback as my retirement gift to myself. As an experienced backpacker, I am trying to reconcile bear safety with car camping/boondocking. I will be most often boondocking so will not have a bear locker. Would you feel safe with food in your vehicle inside of OpSack odor proof bags? Thanks for your insight.

      @Kadenventures  2 года назад +1

      Hi D K! Congrats on the upcoming trip, that is an awesome retirement gift to yourself :) Since your camping in your Outback I wouldnt worry too much, we usually store coolers/food in the car when we camp (not even in an odor proof bag) and have never had issues. If a bear does come through since your inside the vehicle, you can always set the alarm off on your car which they will run away quick!

    I really liked this one....that's one thing I need now more than anything; that is, just to get away and be by myself for a couple of days.
    Kaden, can you recommend a place not too far from Vegas where I can do this very thing? I want to take my firearm with me, so there goes Mt. Charleston and other such places. Any ideas? I need time alone....Thank you!!

      Hey Mike! We camped in an area near Bullhead/Laughlin late last year where we ran into a few shooters on some BLM. You can camp and shoot in the area (Video if your interested: ruclips.net/video/LHRCd5ll4_4/видео.html) and Coordinates for where we camped 35.172562, -114.430365
      I've also heard around Sloane area you can shoot but im not sure about camping..? I've yet to explore that area myself

      @@Kadenventures Kaden, thank you for this! It's exactly what I wanted...just need to get away from it all and be alone for a bit. Well, maybe not ENTIRELY alone....I will be bringing some Johnny Walker Blue Label, thank you very much.
