Honestly if they don’t have Yoshihiro Kanno or someone of his caliber or a decent substitute then the fight scenes are basically cooked. With how they seem to overemphasize CGI in this talk it seems that they might be trying to using CGI and flashy vfx in substitute for fight choreography. Just a thought. Hope for the best but man looking at the market and even when shit like the Suicide Squad Isekai anime delivering PEAK animation and fight choreography.
With the massive amount of giant otherworldly characters and transformations that happen in this part of the arc, soul king constructs, mimihagi, SK yhwach, pernida, mayuri's bankai, seraphim lille, shunsui's bankai, gerard etc. I am dreading the amount of CGI that we might be about to see to compensate for the lack of animation talent, in the worst case scenario.
I mean, Taguchi (and the team) were also not good; it's time to admit that. The quality of the new arc is not really up there, with MAPPA and UFOtable alike. Shame really. The initial hype was good while it lasted, but the new style never settled for me. The studio was unable to even draw arms properly. I can't remember the time in the original anime where I was like, “Huh, the anatomy is glaringly bad here”. The wrists and hands, especially, are a very weak spot for this team. The elegant silhouettes of all characters are gone, the quirky colors are a gimmick, the CGI is horrible, and the animation is inconsistent and choppy. Still, Bleach in all its forms is very dear to my heart, so I am not that devastated; it could've been much worse, bearing in mind the state of almost all shows nowadays. I just wanted the very best for my show.
How can he say "more cgi"? How is it possible for someone to be this close minded and wrong? Genuinely there is no fan approval of cgi and he feels the need to double down on it and think its a good decision, how does he get to this position with no good reputation to back it? Pierrot just a bunch of visionless old people getting smoked by other studios and being too lazy to not blame it on themselves
