- New York Hung Ga's Informational Series: Talking About Iron Wire and how it can be trained for a specific purpose. There are many ways to train Iron Wire and the results you desire will dictate how you train it. Here we explore one way to train the Extreme Hard and Extreme Soft, finishing it up with sections of the 5-Animals to release some of the stored up energy from Iron Wire. Performed by Sifu Yui Chow.

I enjoy training the iron wire form. Many thanks
Hi Sifu Yui: thank you so much for posting this. It's great to see you again (even if it's just on video!). I moved to Israel about 2 and a half years ago, and really miss the Yee's family. Training on my own here just isn't the same, but videos like this help me remember everything. Please share more!
Take care, and send my best to everyone in NY (Matt, Chris, Joseph, etc.)
the best execution of Iron Wire so far other than Alexander Fu Shing
Great stuff Uncle! Miss you and all of the Hung family. Still training hard here in Israel.
Very interesting! Thanks for posting!
On Point Brother Yui. Very nice great energy and ad hock Five animal was great.
Really great form
@Nhia89 There are different ways of training Iron Wire. I'm doing it the Gong Kiu (Hard Bridge) way. Isometrically I tense and push against myself (either physically like the thumb against the pinky, or internally where the tendons and muscles are tensing). This is how I "store and build up" the chi. When I do the 5-Animals, I release this stored up chi by projecting the proper sounds and striking movements, such as whipping the technique.
Very elegant form!
@pierusa123 If you read the description, you would know that I mixed some of the 5-Animals, which includes Crane, into this shortened Iron Wire routine, to release the stored up energy from training the Iron Wire.
@NewYorkHungGa you should make a video about that explaining how. That'll be worth watching
@1981reddragon This is through the Tang Fong lineage, my friend.
@1981reddragon At about the 2:50 mark I transition to 5-Animals. Neither the Iron Wire, nor the 5-Animals is shown in it's entirety. Just snippets of each are picked to show a small sampling of how it can be done.
I want to learn to use the butterfly swords more detail. In case I am attacked by a machete, knife or baseball bat. Does your school teach a person the butterfly swords?
how do you release the stored up energy of chi??
@Nhia89 Can't give everything away in a RUclips video clip :)
it has to be mod to be effective in real life only my opinion
Absolutely agree with you Brian. This demo is staged and practiced; real-life applications would have to be modified to the situation at hand.
@fragmintz Hi Mike, how are you? Hey e-mail me (or Facebook friend me) when you get a chance, I might have someone you can work out with while you're in Israel.
never heard of Iron Wire has crane movement. I doubt it.
Your execution of the techniques are excellent. Unfortunately, I highly disagree with your mixing of the five animals form and iron wire form together.People who practice Hung Kuen can't cross reference if you do that.
Hahahahahah at about 1:36 looks and sounds hilarious
