- Here is an extraordinary performance of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' by the brave men and women from NHS in honor of the Llandudno's Venu Cymru, which has been turned into a temporary coronavirus hospital. During this process, the facility has been renamed to Ysbyty Enfys, which is Welsh for Rainbow Hospital, as a symbol for hope.
Well done Wales !!!! Beautiful version of the best song ever written. Love the inclusion of the Welsh language.
Hawthorn is the cure spread the word of mozesThis is not a chessgame anymore
For covid
We heard the wonderful NHS staff in Llandudno singing 'Bridge Over Troubled Waters' this morning on BBC Breakfast. It lifted our spirits for the day and please sing again. Well done for what you are doing for the NHS, for your bravery and compassion.
nhs are fucking scum, hang the fucking lot,o and you can't catch a fucking virus, the virus is dead.
They haven't treated any patients at all at that temporary hospital since it opened in April, nor have they at the others they opened in North Wales.
I have to be totally honest - I initially thought "oh no not another well intentioned but tone deaf *virtual choir*!". However, I should have spotted where they were from. This is utterly beautiful and very moving. Also, the handful of sad people who gave it a thumbs down, should be ashamed!!
Land of song lives on, even in these dire times. Cymru am byth.
Agree 100% , singing is such an integral part of Welsh culture and this is magnificent :)
Welsh and a bad singer, is that even possible? I think they drown all the bad singers at birth :-)
@@grapemates3148 i just found out I am Welsh. I was adopted, so never knew. I am the only person in my family that sings. lol. dont know why i am commenting. proud to be Welsh? yup.
Grapemates 21 savage
I can confirm also that the Welsh language translation of verse 2 and chorus are lyrically accurate and beautiful, sung by professional singers. All the NHS workers are amazing, but that third girl could be professional. Stunning voice.
Despite the obvious problems going on in Britain at the moment, nobody can blame the NHS. What a wonderful institution, we're very lucky to have it. Great rendition of a masterpiece.
Absolutely beautiful voices, beautiful caring people, fantastic, great positivity, never mind the negative idiots, many thanks to all of you.
I'm a yank saluting the NHS, the people of Wales, and the people of Great Britain. You're the best of allies and wonderful friends.
Thanks Thomas and stay strong and stay safe 👍
@English Teacher Thank you, Sunshine.
@English Teacher Well, sir, that's just absolute horseshit. But good to know you won't be a drain on its resources.
bujin1977 scared of the truth?
@English Teacher
This syrupy piece of propaganda is manipulative and dishonest. The field hospital featured here and lavishly praised has not actually treated a single patient:
www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/worrying-reason-north-wales-empty-18331037
Who knew, back when this was playing across the USA on the pop stations that lo, these many years later, it would become the anthem to pay tribute to those people who are working tirelessly to save lives, even though, at times, the cost is their own. To those in Wales, well done! Both for the song, which was a phenomenal performance, and for your hearts and souls, and the endless hours of time you spend caring for those stricken with this heinous virus. May you all be safe, and blessed.
with you all the way Wendy.
why do you believe this rubbish? No lives have been saved.
They are not working tirelessly to save lives at the Venue Cymru field hospital. They haven't had a single patient there since they opened:
www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/worrying-reason-north-wales-empty-18331037
PS I live within walking distance of the place and it is as dead as a doornail
😆 🤣 😂 oh that dangerous virus that was nearly as bad as getting the flu
Nice one guys! One of the most beautiful songs ever written, sung wonderfully. I'm an NHS nurse, too, here in England. Stay safe.
One more RN reporting in. Washington State, USA.
Beautiful. Thanks to the NHS and the people of Wales. (From an England rugby fan!!!!) xx
Thank you. Diolch yn fawr. We stand together.
@@glynthomas6025 "we stand together"
Acting like we're on a battlefield facing an army. No mate. We're standing in our gardens banging pots and pans, together.
Precisely zero covid patients have been treated at this 'hospital'. This video is an utterly shameless piece of emotionally manipulative bogus propaganda.
I knew about the Welsh being great singers before I heard this rendition. And I can proudly say that 25% of my blood is Welsh. But being practiced singers and having true voices didn't make this performance. What made this performance was good voices and great hearts. As soon as I finish crying, I'm going to watch again.
I have tears in my eyes these NHS Nurses doctors and any other NHS Frontline workers across all of Wales working in all the hospitals are amazing and this choir as amazing vocals and this song is my favorite and they were outstanding at singing this song. You are there when we are born and take our first breath and there for us all when we take our last breath. You are our beating heart . You are there to reach your hand out to comfort us all. Thankyou to our Wales NHS Staff.💖💝💗💗💓💓🌈🌹🌹🌹.
I wish I could speak Welsh in order to thank you properly and to say how much I admire what you all do and how beautifully you performed . . . not only the song but the work you do every day. Well Done !!!!!!
The wonderful tradition of song in Wales shared with the world - thank you all 🌈💗
#Beautiful #Ardderchog # Hyfryd #Amazing
I have watched it again. It is now clear I'm never going to be able to watch it without crying all the way through it. Bravo and brava, singers of Wales!
Is there anyone in Wales who CAN'T sing like an angel?
At least they speak better then the scots
John Sumner I’m Scottish.
I’m a Englishman living in Scotland, work for the NHS and I’m not sure why you would say that John Sumner, but stay safe nonetheless.
Jo Lane Thomas I thought the same, unreal.
Max Boyce.
Made me cry like a baby. Diolch yn fawr iawn, Conwy singers, producers, NHS staff.
How wonderful! Nothing like a “Welsh Choir”
What voices!
Angelic voices. Thank you for a fantastic rendition of one of the best songs of all time.
I have always known the Welsh are great singers .....this reiterated the fact................wonderful
A wonderful tribute. Well done all of you. Fantastic. My best wishes, regards and stay safe. Michael Chartres

Thank you for proceeding minds of all people❤️
Neis iawn! Diolch yn fawr iawn i bawb. I have been privileged to live in Wales for many years. So many people there love music. It is lovely to hear you sing from lockdown in Poland.
This a great Tribute to the NHS and people who are caring for people at this moment in time the voices are fantastic
Nobody at all is being cared for at the 'hospital' featured here. It hasn't treated a single covid case in all the months since it was started. No. wonder the staff had the time to spare to rehearse and perform this slick and emotive propaganda excercise.
Thank you beautiful people from Canada. Welsh solidarity is sublimely universal.💋
Let the world stand together !! Amen
beautiful version of a classic brought tears to my eyes
The Welsh have the voices of angels. I am proud that a quarter of my blood is welsh
This is why in England. Scotland and Ireland.

thank you very much for your wonderful singing voice and nice plan.
You're giving the big courage to the people who suffer from COVID-19 all over the world.
We pay our respects to you.
Thanks for uploading this Paul. One of my greatest thrills was being able to sing Sounds of Silence with you (in audience of course) @ Byron Blues Festival a few years ago. Used to listen to Bridge Over Troubled Water album in my last year of high school 1970 in the U.K. We seniors had our own lounge and it was played over and over. @@stevenharrison488 Nice language! And you're not very observant: the original post was FROM Paul Simon, and this is what he said: "Here is an extraordinary performance of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' by the brave men and women from NHS in honor of the Llandudno's Venu Cymru, which has been turned into a temporary coronavirus hospital. During this process, the facility has been renamed to Ysbyty Enfys, which is Welsh for Rainbow Hospital, as a symbol for hope." I don't think he plans to sue ... This would be a great fund-raising tool for Ysbyty Enfys. IMO.

Message to Paul and Art thank you for letting them sing this song. a great and noble thing you have done.
The many thousands of people who have been denied treatment for cancer, heart problems and other life-threatening conditions over past months may not agree with you about that.
This is beautiful. Much love to all, this song is a comfort in the darkest times.
"The darkest times"
Is it really? Why?
@@disobeytoday4685 I never said that right now is "the darkest" time; clearly, there have been far worse. A dark time is highly subjective, there are many people struggling, especially healthcare workers. My comment was simply saying that this song is comforting, and I send love to all those affected.

beautiful not only the singing, the work, passion and dedication the nhs has shown us, totally extraordinary
My mom would be very proud of you being from Wales. Big pat on the back to all of the soloists and the musicians! Still remember our family trip to Cardiff when my Nam passed away and we were there for the choir competitions. Just amazing Men's voices. Keep singing as music is defintely good for the soul!
Wow this is terrific, some of the singers were very professional sounding. God bless all of our front line and key workers you are a credit to the four countries of the UK.
Couldn't hear the opening speaking voices distinctly over the annoying background music. Thank you ALL for the song! It took me back to tears on a plane when I heard it in 1971.
absolutely magnificent performane. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much!
This is probably my favorite song of all-time, and it always brings a tear to my eye. This time, they didn't stop for the duration of the song!
Beautiful! Love the Welsh language parts. Thank goodness for the NHS!!! We're so lucky to have you.
Brilliant! Such an iconic song. And I really really want to visit Llandudno after lockdown
Thank you for this rendition.... this song has been one of my all time favorites, hands down. This rendition has given it new meaning to me and to my friends who are in the front lines of this pandemic as well.
God that was brilliant some stunning voices and as they say i did not see that one coming well done guys, An Irish man sending his Welsh cousins love and best wishes Doilch
A real treat, brought me to tears, I served in HM forces for 27 years, but to do what the brave staff of all hospitals, care homes, health care workers and carers do, makes my little stint seem so insignificant. Thank you one and all. Diolch or calon.
Absolutely beautiful, the tears are rolling down my cheeks xx
I just posted my version of this song to say thank you to all the first responders, Carer's and volunteers for there sometimes unrecognised time and effort and found this amazingly beautiful collaboration of Incredible people with amazing voices. It made my day 💐❤️

They are all very talented singers - I am very surprised - please keep your good work and thank you all for your incredible service to men and women and children as well - with kind regards from bavaria
Okay but let’s give them more funding maybe.
I hope you will be very happy paying additional taxes to fund it rather than expecting everyone else to. We already pay billions more each and every year - use the money wisely and don’t waste it
Nathan Clifford If you’d like to know, I don’t just “expect others to” pay for us. Any spare money I get either goes into savings or charity and for the past few months it’s been towards funding for this exact kind of thing so yes if taxes were raised I would instead just be paying what I already do towards other things the government wants. Don’t defend them in a time like this where people are dying and others just aren’t doing enough.
@@JosephWatson04 spot on, it shouldnt take a global pandemic for us to praise these people. The Nhs doesn't get enought support from all of us, nurses and carers do not get paid enough end of. Id happily pay more taxes if it goes to these people

Dear Paul Simon, thank you for this gem. This is the only song that can bring me to tears in whatever genre it is sung, even if it is ridiculously sung in discord or dissonance. Even if a drunk person sing this, it will still move me to tears. The lyrics, melody and everything just hits me in the heart.
Therefore, thank you. Thank you for creating this gem. For lighting up the world especially in times like this.
Thank you.
Ps, I rarely listen to it now because tears will rolling down my face every time this song is played. It is too painfully good for me to listen and enjoy. I only reserve this for special occasions only.

How can you not like this . You must have a very cold heart to do so
Some people have no heart Sid, sad to say.
The British public support 10 years of budget cuts to ensure foreign bankers get all our hard earned money then desperately "thank the NHS" for picking up the slack.
It is fools clapping and singing and dancing without having a single clue of reality. Embarrassing. Every Thursday at 8pm hearing the sheep banging their pots and pans makes me feel like committing suicide. I'm surrounded by MORONS!
@@disobeytoday4685 As ever, totally missing the point. It is for praising the people who have no choice but to operate the system as it is, be it the NHS or the armed forces. If you have any political issues then take it up with the politicians who are responsible not to take it out on people serving their country the best that they can usually in very difficult conditions. I do not disagree with your view but you are attaching the wrong people, the easy prey, but then your handle says it all.
@@watchit65 *"the politicians who are responsible"*
That's called "diffusion of responsibility". Taxpayers are responsible 100%
It is perfectly possible to dislike this video because it is actually a complete sham to pretend that life-saving work has been done at the 'emergency field hospital which it features. It has not treated a single covid-19 patient since it opened in April. This makes both the performance and the gushing celebrity tributes parts of a cynical excercise in dishonest propaganda and emotional manipulation.
Very touching...thanks to all for sharing it. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼, by the way all are great but the man who composed this tune is amazing, thanks to Paul for this 👍🏼

Repeat the mantra. You brainwashed sheep. The hospitals are empty.
@@JamesSmith-qy3eu
You are absolutely correct, James. There are several of these 'emergency field hospitals' in North Wales and none of them have had any patients. According to the local newspaper (see below) the only reason they are staying open is in case there is a 'second spike' in cases in the autumn. In the North Wales area there hasn't even been a first spike. It makes the publicity stunt of the staff performing this emotional song to pull on people's heart-strings even more of a cynical ploy when you realise they are not even treating anybody:
