My grandfather was Tom Moore, (Thomas Patrick Moore), who was born in Glasgow (1890s) but raised in Exmouth, Devon. He was also a war veteran, with a Devonshire Regiment in WWI. His nephew told me today about Capt. Tom Moore and has made a donation on behalf of our family. Bravo, Capt. Moore. May you walk on forever. Warmest regards from Canada
The UK just knows how to do a crisis. All the words spoken by Great War leaders are as relevant now as they were then. ‘Never has so many owed so much to so few’. This is another of your ‘Finest Hours’ Australia statues you all and again will do what we can to help 🇦🇺 🇬🇧
Sadly Sir Captain Tom Moore passed away today. Listening to this has such a haunting and inspirational message now. Helped the NHS earn £33m for the fight against the virus that eventually took his life. Sure, he was 100 but, he was still very active. This song brought a tear to my eyes.
@smurfite1994 THEY grifted the cash? Proof please. HE caught the Covid in the hospital. So much hate. They should have kept him (and other patients) better isolated .
As a British Asian, I never thought something like this would touch me the way it has. This man has honoured his country for an unbelievable amount of years in so many ways. This brought a tear to my eye, and makes me proud to be British. I truly hope my unborn children grow to be real leaders just like this man, Captain Tom Moore.
Same here, I'm British Asian and love this country so much. This gentleman was born in the same year as my grandfather, sadly no longer with us. Men of that generation are 'Giants among men'. I hope my son represents his country one day and makes us all very proud.

I am at a loss how to thank Captain Tom. What he has done for the NHS is amazing. He has brought us together as a nation irrespective if colour or creed. He is a very special and honourable man, who deserves every recognition he is now getting. It only takes one person to change the world and he has done it.
This wonderful, humble man just brought me to tears. What an amazing thing he has accomplished! And kudos to Michael Ball for making this recording happen! Love to them both.
@aljanat5 Dont usually reply to things like this, but this is not about your most disliked member of parliament, this is about keeping people like Tom, and probably your granny safe. Lets face it, nobody cares about you, me or our local parliament member, but we all care about our family. Tom on the other hand is a much better person, who against all odds, made it through until today. Let's not let Corona kill him and let us agree that he has, once again, given his all.
It's actually just stunning! Michael Ball is the perfect choice. The 13k likes are for enjoying the performance for what it is. A collection of incredible humans doing their jobs and a war veteran capturing the world's hearts. Ignore the ignorant and pointless human that commented earlier. Nobody watching should have been focusing on colour. Between them, they've raised around £30m for the NHS. It's something to be inspired by.
22 years of age but this had a lump in my throat this poor bloke has fought 2 wars the 2nd world war and this pandemic now he deserves to be a sir once this is over hes fought twice for everyone younger than him makes me proud to be british 👌🏼 absolute legend

A global hero has left the face of the earth but walks with us through this pandemic. He will remain in our hearts for ever and will be an inspiration to all of human kind.
My friend Roy was in WWII, he was part of Toms generation. He fought in the desert, and died in 2018, at the age of 97. Tom is a true hero, and deserves all the praise he gets, as do all the workers for the NHS in this time of crisis.
Please know that you are great friends now. We must bury the past, make the most of the present, and look to the future together, hand in hand. Life is too short for enmity. A sentiment I know Tom will entirely agree with.
You are no longer the enemy - but great valued friends. We were at War then, both sides just following orders. It was never personal, if anything it was political. But our Bond now is stronger than it has ever been. I am a Vet and we have long since forgiven each other.
Hi hi Your parents and grandparents did what they were ordered to do. Just like the British Armed Forces did what they were told. My dad fought in the Battle of Monte Casino. Thankfully he survived and then many years later I was born. My dad never held grudges or hatred. Myself I have visited Germany many times. It's a beautiful country with many wonderful people. Take care #peace #ynwa #imagine #ColonelTom
Untold Story the strong remain. The strong will always remain. Strength shows itself in different ways. If you believe that every Doctor/Nurse/Porter/Surgeon etc are weak then you are sadly mistaken !
As a half breed, someone who is half austro-hungarian and half British, I'm grateful for the actions of this man (and many others) who put everything at risk to save the country I call home. I am grateful forevermore for brave soldiers who fought and allowed this country to be a peaceful land for me, my father and my Oma and Opa.
I’m American, and this man is amazing! Britain should be so proud, I’m proud! If the human race were all like Captain Tom, this world would be so wonderful! God Bless him and congratulations to him on his impending knighthood. If anyone deserves it, it’s this lovely man.
What a man, what an indomitable spirit. I would feel small in his presence I am sure. The older generation that endured years of wartime will alas too soon all be gone, to be replaced by a generation of " me firsts" and "snowflakes" Many of us do not respect or appreciate what was given by that generation that went before us, I fear we will never see their equal. I don't refer to the arms forces when I say that, I mean the people of this country then and now. I would say something about the people who gave thumbs down to this but they are not worth the thought that would go into it.
Can I ask, if he didn't get the publicity and media hysteria and he struggled to raise £10 like the vast majority of people at his age would probably achieve, what would have impressed you most about his story?
Many young people are out there now during this epidemic, treating patients, driving ambulances, and working in supermarkets so us everyday folk can have what we need. Let's have respect and love for the wartime generation like Captain (now Colonel) Tom, but let's remember that there are so many selfless, brave and caring young people about right now too. They may not be fighting wars, but they're keeping this country going. So let's raise a glass to them, too.

@God Almighty How old are you? Do you need to use walkers to get around? You can brag about yourself all you want. You may be telling the truth or you may be lying. Any video purportedly being you would be met, in this quarter at least, with a healthy dose of skepticism. We do know that Captain Tom Moore is 99 years old and is still giving to his Country by raising funds. If you're jealous of a man who is 99 years old, you've got mental problems.
God Almighty before you hate me plz analyse my reply properly Shall we start by saying God Almighty pretty much sums up ur ego to begin with Jon... This 100year old man has fought 4 our country & now is helping fight a worldwide epidemic by selflessly going out of his way to raise funds.. He himself has not boasted about doing so just as you just did in your little rant ( which I hope you feel so much better now after doing so Jon, Do you Jon?) but was noticed by others who chose to boast about him... THANK YOU JON, thank you for all the charities you have helped with all the many marathons you have ran here's a medal 🥇 Fuck it here's 2 🏅🎖 do you feel good now?? Appreciated?? I don't know what you want from your comment but I do know 1 thing & that is you don't do charitable work to be patted on the back, be thanked or be known for it, you do such things to make the world a better place, so in my opinion everything you have ever done has just gone out the window as the jealousy & need for recognition pours out of your words Thanks Jon for your 2cents ( they weren't needed) BUT CAPTAIN TOM IS A BLOODY LEGEND IN MY EYES & I WILL REMEMBER THIS MAN TIL THE DAY I DIE #BANKHOLIDAY4TOM
God Almighty ok mate I really haven't time for people like yourself.... But do just want to make clear that at no point in my reply did I patronise Captain Tom as if he were a child & have NOT a clue where you even got that from the whole entire point I've tried 2 make from my very 1st comment that YOU not me began to make out what Tom has done was not worth the attention or praise he was receiving because you had done more & could sing better 😂 was that Captain Tom is a Top Bloke .... & I hope you do get 2 sit down & have a pint with guy, maybe you would learn a few things from him ..... Please don't comment again you turned what I tried 2 be a nice comment in2 a stupid argument about you Thanks Jon & have a nice day 🙏
TeriXXXLouise God Almighty The point is he represents all these people who are doing great things for the country at this time and I think there should be a bank holiday to remember the people who stepped up during this time, he did a great thing and he is someone who people can look up to and he is an example of a person who we should be more like, it's not a competition or something people should be arguing about, that's childish.
@Undoctrinated How dare you say the truth about the quality of this song! Jolly Infidel No, the generations now as you’ve shown are ignorant, selfish, stuck up and unsupportive. You can’t seem to grasp the fact that these nurses and doctors have NEVER dealt with a pandemic. Yes, they were extremely busy at work before but during times like this it’ll be the worse thing they’ll experience. I would LOVE to see you work a day in an ICU like they are currently doing everyday, you simply couldn’t do it. These times are nothing like “their usually jobs” it’s chaotic, manic and devastating for everyone. Actually be human and realise they’re doing an amazing job protecting us during this whilst they are putting themselves and their families at risk. Start being grateful because one day we won’t have the NHS, and then that day will be a disaster. And it’ll be because of people like you being ungrateful.

In these dark times where hope doesn't come from our leaders, it's heroes like you Captain that give hope, there is a saying that goes "Once A Soldier, Always A Soldier", and you Sir are a shining example of that, you are still fighting the good fight, you are truly an inspiration to all mankind and a bright light in the darkness for us all. From one soldier to another, i salute you Sir. God Bless you and the British NHS for what you do for your country.
Wonderfully said mate. Can't lie, had tears running fast down my face. X

Till his family grifted all the cash
@smurfite1994 THEY grifted the cash? Proof please. HE caught the Covid in the hospital. So much hate. They should have kept him (and other patients) better isolated

Rest in piece,
Captain Sir Tom Moore
You will live on as a hero.

Let's get this back to the top of the charts to honour captain sir Tom this would be true honour to him and raise more money for the NHS . He will never be forgotten and will never walk alone .
Watching this from Australia makes me so proud to be English (I’m also a Liverpool fan). It sends shivers down my spine that people like Tom, so many years after saving this country, are doing it again. We have so much to live upto. God bless our NHS, first responders, delivery drivers, shop checkouts and everyone behind the scenes allowing us to live. See you all on the other side.
Thank you very much, Captain Tom Moore and all the best from your friends from Germany! We will never Walk alone.
Thank you Michael

I am at a loss how to thank Captain Tom. What he has done for the NHS is amazing. He has brought us together as a nation irrespective if colour or creed. He is a very special and honourable man, who deserves every recognition he is now getting. It only takes one person to change the world and he has done it.
This wonderful, humble man just brought me to tears. What an amazing thing he has accomplished! And kudos to Michael Ball for making this recording happen! Love to them both.

@aljanat5 Could you be any more unpleasant? Capt. Tom Moore and Michael Ball did something to help the NHS. With all your whining, what have you done?
Me too! Es ist so ergreifend. Einfach wundervoll!
Just heard the news of captain Tom's passing. A sad day. Rest in peace

Me as a German and therefor a enemy in ww1 and ww2 highly respects heros like him, he fought for his country and that is something everyone should do
Please know that you are great friends now. We must bury the past, make the most of the present, and look to the future together, hand in hand. Life is too short for enmity. A sentiment I know Tom will entirely agree with.
The strong people of such times in both countries have gone - Just weakness left.
You are no longer the enemy - but great valued friends. We were at War then, both sides just following orders. It was never personal, if anything it was political. But our Bond now is stronger than it has ever been. I am a Vet and we have long since forgiven each other.
Hi hi
Your parents and grandparents did what they were ordered to do. Just like the British Armed Forces did what they were told. My dad fought in the Battle of Monte Casino. Thankfully he survived and then many years later I was born.

They saved the country for sure but, what we have no... Was it worth it. Utter shame

Captain Tom Moore ....... Total LEGEND, after all this he has to have his own Bank holiday in memory of the mans greatness 💯
@God Almighty A good advice to you: Delete your posting as soon as possible. Otherwise the whole world will see your total stupidity.
God Almighty before you hate me plz analyse my reply properly
Shall we start by saying God Almighty pretty much sums up ur ego to begin with Jon...
I don't know what you want from your comment but I do know 1 thing & that is you don't do charitable work to be patted on the back, be thanked or be known for it, you do such things to make the world a better place, so in my opinion everything you have ever done has just gone out the window as the jealousy & need for recognition pours out of your words
Thanks Jon for your 2cents ( they weren't needed)
BUT CAPTAIN TOM IS A BLOODY LEGEND IN MY EYES & I WILL REMEMBER THIS MAN TIL THE DAY I DIE
#BANKHOLIDAY4TOM
God Almighty ok mate I really haven't time for people like yourself.... But do just want to make clear that at no point in my reply did I patronise Captain Tom as if he were a child & have NOT a clue where you even got that from the whole entire point I've tried 2 make from my very 1st comment that YOU not me began to make out what Tom has done was not worth the attention or praise he was receiving because you had done more & could sing better 😂 was that Captain Tom is a Top Bloke ....
& I hope you do get 2 sit down & have a pint with guy, maybe you would learn a few things from him .....
Please don't comment again you turned what I tried 2 be a nice comment in2 a stupid argument about you
Thanks Jon & have a nice day 🙏
TeriXXXLouise God Almighty The point is he represents all these people who are doing great things for the country at this time and I think there should be a bank holiday to remember the people who stepped up during this time, he did a great thing and he is someone who people can look up to and he is an example of a person who we should be more like, it's not a competition or something people should be arguing about, that's childish.

@Undoctrinated How dare you say the truth about the quality of this song! Don't you see that we've been told we can do nothing besides give out the most excessive praise for a man who walked in his garden and got extremely lucky that a very generous nation heard about his story while bored at home and decided to fund some of the NHS privately!
@Undoctrinated Go away.
@@abuibu init, I agree too you and even Gemma donated £1k to him for the NHS, and she also said that he deserves to be Knighted for all what he's done and she only listen too about 75 seconds of this song and she started too cry and apparently she's selfish, well she's not because she donated and got emotional at this when he starting singing
