And a third thing: Instead of letting Link fight Ganon alone, Zelda accompanied Link in the final fight and assisted him by firing arrows from her bow of light. so it’s kind of close-minded to call her a bitch when TP Zelda actually was one of the most involved and reliable Zeldas in the timeline.

Pyrox in TP, she sacrificed herself to protect her own kingdom. In my opinion, they've portrayed Zelda in TP very well with the rather cold image, because in this story she's more serious, in a way. And I think in her situation I would also be more serious, because she's practically a hostage in the dark world. I think more feelings would've ruined her character in TP. :)
Yunie I haven't played BOTW yet so I can't really compare, but for me the most developed Zelda is Skyward Sword. The reason SS is my favourite is because of its great emotional story but especially the character development. It's the only one (that I've played anyway) that really builds a relationship between the 2 and really teases the romance.
None of them all Zelda's are complete trash and easily the worst excuses of Damsel in Distress in all of gaming. In fact her track record is just as bad as Princess Elise from Sonic 2006. And Breath of the Wild certainly does nothing to address this fact. When Link is required to visit 12 spots pictured in photographs in order to regain memories of his adventures with Zelda that took place 100 years ago. In these flashbacks, Zelda is always weaponless, clad in form-fitting clothing, sometimes strutting in such a way as to convey an idea of delicate femininity. In one memory, Zelda is chased into the Gerudo Desert by the Yiga clan before tripping in the most quintessential helpless-princess way. Just as she clinches her eyes and grits her teeth, fearful her life may be haplessly cut short, Link saves her from certain death and all Zelda can do is gasp and marvel at his prowess and bravery. Breath of the Wild has no problem demonstrating Princess Zelda's incapability of doing anything on her own. Hell Zelda spends the game whining on how useless she is in the grand scheme of things. And just to be clear here There's nothing wrong with a character needing assistance or needing support sometimes, however my complaint with Zelda is that she actively relies on help at all costs, she's completely incapable of doing anything on her own. Let me show an example for greater detail: Let's take one of Zelda's rare "active" moment, in the final battle of Four Swords Adventures when Zelda's during the heat of battle with Link against Ganondorf she has to charge a ball of energy in order to seal him away, okay fair enough, however the problem arises when Link actively has to be her shield just so she's even able to use her powers at all.* This also happens during the Tower escape sequences where Link has to shoo away enemies so Zelda doesn't get hurt, suggesting Zelda is too fragile to take on a basic enemy. (It also doesn't help that she's an escort mission with only 1 heart of health)* *What I get from this is Zelda is unable to be strong or have any sort of combat relevance unless someone is in front of her protecting her at all times simply so her powers can even do as much as function. *The same thing happens at the end of Spirit Tracks, Link has to be Zelda's shield as she can't actively use any of her powers simply because getting hit causes her to be unable to do anything. She also needs "Tetra's Blessing" just to have the power to get in her own body again, Zelda is virtually incapable of doing anything unless someone has to help her. it's like a helping a baby chew their food because they can't chew properly. My problem isn't that Zelda needs assistance, but that she actively has to have it because she's unable to do anything on her own, it's basically Krytonite if someone isn't helping her in some way. Whenever Link needs help from one of his sidekicks it's never there to suggest that Link is a helpless guy who's unable to do anything on his own, it's to establish that his sidekicks have power in their world or their abilities contribute to solving puzzles or getting around areas and overcome obstacles, it's general assistance for those situations Link can't pass. Link isn't helpless otherwise, he still fights off the bad guys and he still is able to generally get around on his own, his sidekicks are there for obstacles that benefit their own abilities. With Zelda she needs help all the time. She needs the Sages just to seal Ganon, even though it only takes Link to use a Sword to do the same, she always needs Link as some kind of shield just so her powers can function.
My Top 3 Zeldas are: 1. Hyrule Warriors Zelda 2. Twillight Princes Zelda 3. Skyward Sword Zelda And if the first one didn't count because it's not a real Zelda game. then I would choose the BOTW Zelda for the third place :)

She IS a damsel in distress by-trope. Every single time she’s allowed to have fangs and sass or be GNC (like Sheik and Tetra) Nintendo ultimately nerfs her. True the Zeldas have gotten to participate in the final battles in about a third of the games by this point either by sealing Ganon or using light arrows or gifting light arrows for the current Link to use instead, but she’s still forced into a largely PASSIVE role, and is often seen as “the hero’s reward” or just the final Collectathon. I love each Zelda. And that’s why it infuriates me to see her ultimately pushed aside or damseled or fridged(but she gets better). I’d love to see this no longer be the formula for the Zeldas but. I doubt it ever will be

In my opinion Princess Zelda from the Twilight Era is the best one. She is the wisest and most mature one of them all. When Zant came to her at the throne, she chose her people instead of being prideful and headstrong to fight back. When Midna needed her, she knew she was more capable and useful to her Kingdom than she was at the moment, so she healed her and granted Midna her power. Princess Zelda from Twilight Princess was selfless and always put her Kingdom before herself.
When Zelda says she can no longer hear the voice inside the sword I think it means; Since Ganons form in this game has given up on reincarnation the Master Sword’s job is done. Ganon is gone. I’m talking about BoTW btw
Ganon didn’t give up on reincarnation, that was a translation error. The Japanese version explains that his transformation into Dark Beast Ganon was a result of his unwillingness to give up on reincarnation.

Zelda in the Oracle games act this is the first time they met when the Oracle games are supposed to take place between A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening. This, combined with the art for the Oracle games, is why I like to think that the Oracle Link is a different Link than the ALTTP Link. The manga certainly helped with that.
I Personally like Wind Waker's Zelda, *because she's technically half pirate* but in the final fight, she legit steals ur bow to shoot at Ganon, takes a hit from Ganon, gets up, and starts shooting again.
Hyrule warriors is my favorite I don't like how rude Zelda was in botw but I like that game too. Hyrule Warriors designs were so good especially for impa, she is my favorite character other than link.

(She also thought that Link didnt face a day of hardship.) Later on, she found out she was wrong, she apologized and started to develop feelings for him.. Zelda being a crybaby is false, yes, you saw her cry, but in only one scene.. There isnt a person that would be able to hold his/her emotions for so long since childhood and wont be able to let it all out when all the pressure put is starting to overwhelm you.. (especially when its too late..) Soo yeah, thats my explanation, sorry for those who likes SS Zelda, i know her character in SS is also being hated on, i dont really know much about her but i would like to say all the Zeldas werent a b**ch, all you have to do is to look at the character deeper and understand them more..

She IS a damsel in distress by-trope. Every single time she’s allowed to have fangs and sass or be GNC (like Sheik and Tetra) Nintendo ultimately nerfs her. True the Zeldas have gotten to participate in the final battles in about a third of the games by this point either by sealing Ganon or using light arrows or gifting light arrows for the current Link to use instead, but she’s still forced into a largely PASSIVE role, and is often seen as “the hero’s reward” or just the final Collectathon.
I love each Zelda. And that’s why it infuriates me to see her ultimately pushed aside or damseled or fridged(but she gets better). I’d love to see this no longer be the formula for the Zeldas but. I doubt it ever will be
For me, my favorite was Skyward Sword Zelda. I also really liked Zelda from Botw and WW, too.

In my opinion Princess Zelda from the Twilight Era is the best one. She is the wisest and most mature one of them all. When Zant came to her at the throne, she chose her people instead of being prideful and headstrong to fight back. When Midna needed her, she knew she was more capable and useful to her Kingdom than she was at the moment, so she healed her and granted Midna her power. Princess Zelda from Twilight Princess was selfless and always put her Kingdom before herself.
Zelda's design in TP and Hyrule Warriors are my favourite ones, but i also like BoW - she looks kinda cute there

Zelda in the Oracle games act this is the first time they met when the Oracle games are supposed to take place between A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening. This, combined with the art for the Oracle games, is why I like to think that the Oracle Link is a different Link than the ALTTP Link. The manga certainly helped with that.

Zelda turned out to be mean, yes, we know, but the reason behind that is because she was jealous of Link because he was able to fulfill his destiny while she couldnt, that added to the pressure her father was giving to her..Also, you cant expect someone to be ok with someone else suddenly following you and gaurding you 27/7.. (She also thought that Link didnt face a day of hardship.)
Later on, she found out she was wrong, she apologized and started to develop feelings for him..
Zelda being a crybaby is false, yes, you saw her cry, but in only one scene..
There isnt a person that would be able to hold his/her emotions for so long since childhood and wont be able to let it all out when all the pressure put is starting to overwhelm you.. (especially when its too late..)
Soo yeah, thats my explanation, sorry for those who likes SS Zelda, i know her character in SS is also being hated on, i dont really know much about her but i would like to say all the Zeldas werent a b**ch, all you have to do is to look at the character deeper and understand them more..
