This game needs and deserves advertising. So so much work put into this game only to have a low player count. Definitely more of this we love it! Despite the low player count they continue to add great content and quality of life changes. And the armor gameplay and penetration is so complex and cool idk how they did it.
Ive started to see some S44 ads in the top right corner spot on RUclips
YES!!! Squad 44 eye in the sky... Thank you!
You should check out the "drone" video I did about a week back! 😁🪖

France is such an underrated faction in WW2 gaming. It's never given ANY spotlight when it was potentially a pretty big contender but was knocked out and outmaneuvered before it had a chance to fight. I think the only other major front / faction that isn't mentioned at all during WW2 (but was major and had impacted history hugely) was the Chinese. I don't think I've EVER seen a FPS WW2 game set in China during their war with Japan.
There’s a mod for Gates of Hell that covers the Sino Japanese war but that’s about it
There is also Russia vs Finland in 39-40
Weapons aren’t even half of the battle. We can clearly see this in nearly every modern war of the past 40 years. Command, morale, and cause, is far more important than any weapon ever will be. The French had antiquated command, and absolutely no willpower to fight another war, alongside a lack of support for their own government that was failing them. France had favorable positions, and a peer military to Germany, yet they were dog walked in a matter of weeks. Poland lasted about the same time, with a much smaller military, and while being attacked on two fronts. Had the Polish had the military capabilities of the French, the fall of Europe would of been delayed long enough for the allies to buildup forces and adapt to overcome Germanys superior tactics. French incompetence is what really left the rest of Europe to the mercy of Germany for the next 5 years. So no, they are actually typically portrayed as a far more competent force in most games then they actually were. Like who tf surrenders half of their military to their enemy? At least the poles didn’t leave anything for the Germans to commandeer, they fought to the last machine and last bullet, literally.
Keep the series up! It is the whole new genre for Squad 44!
It is no different than any other WWII sandbox game bro. Let’s not pretend it’s a new genre 😆😆😆 you’re just a OWI dickrider.
Anyone who has played HLL will not be impressed at all.
Anyone who played any of the COD games would even be disappointed they reskinned SQUAD, a game with major leadership and logistical issues😆
MOIDAWG sure loves his comment bots though 😆 they sure help him sell the game $
The First Panzer 3 you kept refering to was a Panzer 4, during the invasion of France the Panzer 3 had a slightly longer 37mm gun while the Panzer 4s (like the one seen in game) had a short barrel 75mm gun, as well as other various minor differences.
During the invasion of france all pz iii were equipped with 37mm guns and 2 mgs in the turret, but yea he was calling the tank wrong anyways
Yup. The Panzer IV was variably considered a medium or heavy tank at the time. That short barreled 75mm was actually a very powerful weapon since it could fire HEAT shells which weren't as dependent on range to penetrate armor. It proved devastating in North Africa because no allied armor could stand up to it at long range until the arrival of the American Lee (the British modification being the Grant).
@@banzai2547There were short 50’s during France was there not?
@@privatecanookThe one in game uses the 3.7cm
@@privatecanook yeah the Panzer IVs were used in there support role, like an assault gun pretty much
The tank combat is so good in S44. Your tank play vid was really a pleasure to watch. Incredibly immersive viewing. I'm not a fan of Squad tank combat so much, but S44 really knocks it out of the park.
I mean PS now S44 has mostly "fully" simulated ballistic, Squad is more arcady
I really hate the walking-for-hours part of squad, and the game was not cheap. Im willing to give it a second chance in the form of squad44, I hope it's worth it this time.
@@sapitron then the "hardcore" mil sim ish is not a good genre for you. The logistics and Transport play a big role here and if you are walking too long then someone screwed up.
If you want the more realistic shooting but less walky then Insurgency Sandstorm is better suited, or those SWAT 4 successors like Ready or Not, Zero Hour and such.
Not your fault, it's just some people like the build up of anticipation and the rush of a fierce and deadly but short gun fight despite sometimes walking for like 5 minutes in game.
Sup MoiDawg! It's Mats Kratz here! The shots that i made when you were looking at me were kills too! Thats why i said 5! The game was great! Specially the end when we started losing the point, glad we could hold on! Too bad i only got to SL Logy at the end, our SL was AFK for most of the end of the match.
I've been playing this game since its launch and never gave up on it, i really do appreciate streamers like you and others who make content on this game. When i see a large youtuber post or stream this game i get happy cause i knew that meant if even 1 person got the game it last a bit longer, last year i remember hopping and seeing only 1 server with only 20 people on a Saturday and now new full pop servers are slowly but surely popping up. so big ups to you and other guys who play this game as well as dudes like tiger and vade who've been making PS vids forever.
Same.. also played it in the beta. I am so happy that it finally recieves the love that it always deserved :D
That Panzer IV crew was clueless. Holy shit.
Just like the players in war thunder,😂😂,,German players always blind 😂😢
It’s always the bad players that join the German team bruh
what panzer 4? all i see is a panzer 3, according to moidawg
@@VynalDerp it's a panzer 4, panzer 3 has 37mm longer gun while panzer 4 has shorter 75mm
@@simply_m390 i know, I'm just making fun of MoiDawg for not knowing the difference. It's an easy mistake to make for people who don't know their WW2 tanks well - both early war Pz3s and 4s have short-barrelled cannons but the Pz4 has a different turret and hull shape.
Loving the squad 44 stuff especially the French maps since they’re such a different feel to the others.
You're such a G for doing these, especially WW2!
Been playing this game since post scriptum 2020 after seeing a comparison video for squad vs he’ll let loose vs post scriptum(squad 44) vs Arma. I concluded post scriptum(squad44) was the best option for me because it was the perfect combination of all 4. I was still playing when it was abandoned by the creators with around 80 players one server but played it almost everyday. The few solid players from that time sending you much props and respect for holding it down! Now it’s a new exciting era for squad 44 and I’ll be here for all of it!
I was the driver/commander of the 1st light tank. Glad you caught this game, it was all over the place with armor on this one!
Moi has the unparalleled ability to turn off outlines at the worst times then go "look at what's going on!"
my God I love seeing these French tanks
The way that Panzer IV came from behind the Panzer III was insane. I'd buy the game from that alone! 40:20
I'm impressed that a H.35 managed to kill a panzer IV
PzIV was not so god...armor and gun was on erlier versions like A,B,C or D really no so god. 75mm gun but only the short version...The Pz III G and next version are beter. And France tanks like H.35 have beter armor ( not gun to )...
The French tanks of the time weren't as understrength as one might think. German armor was relatively thin and many models would later be up-armored for the North African and Russian fronts. The Char1bis for example was a monster in a head on fight. What the French really lacked was versatility. Many of their tanks were slow with small crews. The French expected tanks to support infantry in WW1 style frontal engagements while the Germans were utilizing speed and maneuverability.
@@infrared7759 yes exacly
@@infrared7759 I've heard that the French tanks of the time were some of the best in the world, but they suffered from bad tank doctrine and a single-man turret. The commander had too much to do and could not effectively cooperate with the troops, and tanks were evenly spaced throughout the frontline instead of having a dedicated tank corps
@@eivindsulen8516 pretty much. Also a lack of radios among tanks and lack of air cover.
Thing to remember about the Char B 1 bis (The big boy) is that there is ONE man in the turret. He had to: Command the crew, driver, main gunner and it's loader, Search for targets. Load the 47 mm gun. Fire the 47mm. And load and fire the coaxial machine gun if he ever had time, and communicate with other tanks of his squadron. VERY busy boy. No wonder it took him a while to locate that approaching Panzer IV. The main failing of French tanks was the one man turret. In every game I've played, negative allowances are rightly made for this.
I'm so happy this game is still kicking, I've always loved it and seeing it brought back to life is such a relief.
I absolutely love Eye in the Sky and am looking forward to more Squad 44 matches. Your servers have great players on them and I can't wait to get back onto Squad 44. Keep up the great work.
Even though I have Hell Let Loose, I'm really excited to see this game succeed. It has a lot of content HLL just doesn't have and a relatively strong modding scene like Squad. The amount of variety in armor content is really intriguing; while HLL has good infantry mechanics it lacks the depth in vehicle combat that Squad has. I thoroughly enjoyed HLL in the past but I find myself coming back to Squad more often, so maybe in time Squad 44 will be the ideal WW2 fps in this genre.
Love squad 44. Was great being your gunner today. Didn't even realize it was you.
I love this game so much. Been playing it ever since it was first released back in the day
It’s just so satisfying. I grew up loving military history as a kid and watching movies like Saving Private Ryan, or playing MoH or the original CoD… so playing an authentic feeling ww2 game just feels right at home
Nothing like shooting an MG42 at group of enemy while sticking your lips out. So immersive
I wish they did armor events, for example, if you did an admin cam video, on a Stonne 1940 armored game mode, it would perferctly capture the Battle of Hannut (First major tank battle of ww2), just an idea !
YES! I've been waiting for so long for this! Please keep this series going! Also, pro tip, you can distinguish between a panzer 3 and 4 by the copula and the number of road wheels. Count the road wheels and divide by 2 and you have your model! Pz3 has 6, Pz4 has 8
Love eye in the sky videos and having it be squad 44 is even better! I played my first match a little back on potatoe fields but didn’t realize it was mois server, good lads out there. Sweet video love the content 👊👍
Vade? Vade. Vade! I want to see Vade being a tank commander on eye in the sky.
This was my first game of Squad 44 and didn't even realize it was going to be a eye in the sky.
As an Australian there is 2 options for playing Squad 44. 1. wait in a 15+ queue or 2. join a 250 ping server with 5-10 queue. Game is good but at least i can play hell let loose whenever i want.
then spread thw world to other australian so you can play with more players
Love seeing this every time
Thats awesome. So exciting the tank V tank engagements, and the hits graphics are amazing, flame, smoke, sparks, madness.. total carnage.
Panzer 321 is an early model Panzer IV armed with the short 7.5 cm main gun designed for infantry support (the same weapon found on the early Stug III IIRC). The early model Panzer IIIs had a 3.7 cm main gun, and a distinctive coaxial armament of twin machine guns. Encounters with French tanks and British Matilda IIs woke up the Germans to the fact that their armor on their panzers particularly the Panzer III and Panzer IV was way too thin, as even the French 25mm 34SA antitank gun could penetrate the frontal armor of the panzers. And as delightful as it is to see that the developers included the French Laffly S20 TL 6x6 troop carrier, the Laffly W15 TCC tank destroyer, and the potent 47mm 37SA anti tank gun, what the Hell are the French doing armed with the friggin' Chauchat?! By the time of the German invasion the FM 27/29 automatic rifle was the standard French light squad automatic weapon.
Man, this whole thing ran like the tabletop early WW2 games I've played; a complete barroom brawl. Love it!🤣👍
picked this game up after watching youre video. its a great game. nice mix between the more "laid back" Hell Let Loose style and the extreme realism of Squad. Very fun game. Highly Recommend!
That tank tipping over was so funny
Dude I haven't played the PS1 game "PANZER FRONT"(1999) in years!!! You just brought back so many memories!
OMFG !!! PANZER FROOOOONT!!!!
I'm the VFX artist for Squad and Squad 44 and I took lots of inspiration from Panzer Front when doing the ricochet VFX ^.^
Panzer Front slapped so hard in my teenager years :)
@@brunitogg Dude HELL YES!! ONLY THE REAL ONES KNOW!!
I can die happy now Squad 44 Eye in the Sky lets go boys!
Realistically the French tanks were generally better in many respects, their biggest flaw being a lack of funding in radio development, causing a communication inefficiency and subsequent failure to adapt to a changing battle. In other words, France was a political defeat, rather than technological. All that being said, despite an incompetent command structure, 60,000 dead and 120,000 wounded is hardly a white flag with no resistance.
22:30 love moment when this commander gets ouf of tank withhis binocles to scout area in person .. that the spirit 🤩
Reminds me of when I played HLL. As infantry it was constant throwing men at the enemy until one side gave way. Because really we were a group of unorganized dudes, not a cohesive unit under a doctrine nor even basic teamwork.
that last multi-tank battle was so exciting!
This was a very good and exciting match, I had my doubts about old the concept of old French armor vs early German armor but it actually made for a much different and unique gameplay. I'm excited to see what else the team working on Squad 44 comes up with, it is actually really refreshing to see WWII gameplay without the same ol' traditional American Shermans battling it out with the bigger caliber Panzers and Tiger. Also that addition of the German 20mm I believe it was? on that flatbed, couldn't tell if it was a regular truck or halftrack, it is small additions and details like that which has always made Squad just straight up badass and different than almost all the other games.
French Char 1B and the Somua S35 in 1940 were superior to any German armor. The Germans Blitzkrieg mass assault was the main winning tactic to overcome the French numbers and superior armor
2004FordTaurus here, didnt know moi was even in the server lmao its any honor to be on an EIS vid
17:54 cool to see the SL take the lead!
Stug: Not the strongest of tanks!
Bro, it's the MVP of WW2
You need to win to have mvps 😂
40s all over again i guess
YO! hahaha didnt even realize you were doing eye in the sky for this! Sadly only saw myself for a moment on screen. I didnt realize just how bad the fighting was on the north west side. Was on the south side fighting those flanker fobs. Love the content!
yes, this is AWESOME, more please!!!
The damage decals on the tanks. Brutal
Loved the video @MoiDawg! Can't wait for the next video man! Eye in the Sky Squad '44 Edition is off to a Banger of a great Start with the Battle for France in May 1940.
The French Tanks that we were seeing in this Match were, In order of Appearance, The Renault R-35 Tank, The Iconic Char B1 bis and the Somua S-35. As for the Germans, we saw the Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf. E (Panzer III E for Short) and The Sturmgeschutz III Ausf. B (Stug. III B for Short).
I know that the French Tanks were pretty Poorly Designed and Managed but I didn't expect to find an S-35 Flipping itself on it's Side while trying to flank a Panzer III E LMAO! Even then, To all Players on the French Team, You held the Line Better than what actually happened in May 1940.
Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video man!
This match was cinema! 😚👌
I’ve been wanting this for sooo long
Been waiting for this!! 😮
I have been a WW2 re-enactor for over 30 years and this looks right up my alley. I wish I didn't start playing Enlisted a week ago and started this instead, Sadly, I've already invested money in the game. This looks amazing! 🤩🤩
At the least look for a key. Yes it's a bit shady to do this, but at the same time this game needs more players, and more players in turn would help the game long term even if they take a hit on money for a bit. I bought a key right before it died when it was Post Scriptum for like 5 bucks.
keep an eye out for sales, this game is so much fun and you will be disappointed you didnt start playing sooner!
Don't fall for the sunk costs fallacy. Enlisted is worthless, drop it and get on Squad 44. No use wasting any more of your time on that game.
He delivered!!!!!!
Bro I kept hitting that right flank lmao so crazy to see this game was recorded
Finally, S44 gets acknowledgement
French tanks are underrated, especially the early war stuff. Those things were as good if not better than the German counterparts. The main flaw was how the French doctrine used them, and how the German doctrine avoided them. Slow, fairly good armor, defensively hunting, kind of like how German armor ended up later in the war.
Tremendous explosions and camera work. It would be great if the buildings were destructible.
So glad offworld picked this game up. So much potential, I hope they pick up beyond the wire too so they got three period pieces to work with.
Man, why MoiDawg do my man Matz like that?! 😂😂
Called him out 😂😂😂
This early war period is so unexploited! There is so many various stuff and theatres !
This is the only game I can think of that showcases the battle of France in 1940 in an FPS
Oh my, it is really happening! Eye in the Sky for PS! Much appreciated mate!
i miss the old WWII Online days... this looks awesome, keep it up!!!!
You and me both. I still have my original Cornered Rat t-shirt hanging in my closet. I was a closed alpha tester back around the year 2000 or 2001. Their damage model on vehicles is still insane even compared to modern gaming standards (it went well beyond just tanks). That game would have taken off if they would just upgrade the graphics and some animations plus a few modern UI features. Still there is no other game like WWIIOL (aka Battleground Europe). Not a single game has come close in over 20 years.
A good logistics squad will win the game.
Plenty of spawn options is what the team needs.
Man your server is awesome! I've been playing on it since I started playing Sqaud 44 like a week ago. Love the vids man 😁
Ayooo, didnt know i was in this video. I was the gunner in the S35. Kinda fun to see this perspectiv.
That was great, loved the Squade 44 for a change..keep them coming.
An easy way to know if a panzer is a III or IV is count the road wheels (on one side) and divide by 2. Panzer III variants have 6 wheels on each side, Panzer IVs have 8.
I go by the track wheels on top. Panzer III has 3 and IV has 4
dude just look at the rear, the engine deck is completely different thats enough who the hell is gonna count road wheels each time
not to mention the hull looks completely different
@@piedpiper4450 Someone who doesn't know what the engine decks look like. This is a tip for people not familiar with the vehicles.
I’m super excited for this. The Potato Fields was empty all this last weekend when I checked, are there particular times when it’s more active? I’d love to jump in and play more!
love this content
These videos got me into squad, these videos will get me into this game lol
Only wrong thing about the stug is that's it's loud! Saw one stug in a war scene remake theater and I was surprised how silent stug was, it could drive out from a treeline 100-150m away and you didn't hear it come. Insane!
SAAAA_WEET!!!! Been waiting for this bad boy! Thanks, MoiDawg!
Do more Squad 44 videos! These are awesome.
this really looks very cool! I'm ww2 veteran player, and this one draw my attention!
Squad 44 is on the rise!!
lovin the squad 44 bird's eye vids!
I am not a squad player but I am a fan of eye in the sky. Let's go!!!
We need more Squad 44 eye stuff! 🎉
more french tanks in eye in the sky: squad 44
they are slow
this is where warthunder knowledge comes into play
if you want to pen a panzer 3 you need a shoot that hits the lower plate which should kill Machine gunner and driver and the tank it self if your lucky, if your facing it head on 90 degrees you want to shoot the flat plate in between the machine gunner and driver but if its angled you should fall back or wait for infantry to get to you
I killed a British challenger with the 2cm flak just bc my brother who plays Warthunder was yelling at me where to shoot him 😂💀
@@RustyBear i know how to 1 shoot a t 90 with one 50.cal bullet
Love eye in the sky for Post Scriptum!
41:34 it was hullbroken, you can tell because there’s smoke coming out of both the barrel and cupola
Yes more squad 44 please 🙏 I also enjoyed the he'll let loose eye in the sky
Please keep posting squad 44 🔥🔥
Great video, really fun to watch
my inner war thunder player is screaming at moi "THATS A PANZER 4 NOT A 3"
Really enjoy this content, had the game for about a year and not really played it, my bad, installing now 😀
ya dawg
Thanks, this is what I needed :)
early war tank combat is the best
More squad and squad 44 eye in the sky plz 🙏🙏🙏 love watching these games
That was FUN🎉
Top stuff, would love to see more like this
this really looks awesome!
Love this!
The Somua 35 is closer to a medium tank than a light tank.
Eye in the sky is here 🎉
Fine MoiDawg, I'll wishlist it...
Seriously though, loving the Squad 44 content.
i feel like early war maps are soo much more fun compaired to the late war ones
