Impossible to find words eloquent enough to express my admiration for this outstanding girl. Talent in the purest form.
"Why Vienna (and not London?)". "I love Vienna... And of course...
I can go for walks where Beethoven went for his walks..".
A true musical Angel !...
Alma is the most talented musician of this age.
That's certainly the way it's shaping up.
I can think of no person , child or adult I have ever seen, so steeped in grace, and intelligence as this young brilliant star. How utterly charming, and inspirational! Her genius appears invincible!
very well said
Always I find her gracious, attentive, kind, and, of course, brilliant!
So called "Intellectual" music others can compose. The music Alma writes speaks for itself directly into your inner being. Loves her Siren Sound, Carnegie Halls. Wonderful done Alma.
Alma is a shining light for all people to experience beautiful music, she has already achieved so much and will continue to bring forth the very heart of music to everyone in the world - we are so very fortunate to experience Alma in our lives - thank you Alma for everything you are doing
The interviewer is most skilled in his "job requirements" A delight to see him interact with this beautiful, and brilliant "lady/child".
well, it is Matt ;-)....www.geraldmatt.com
So great to see Alma again !!! She is an AMAZING TALENT!! Growing up fast I see. The world is blessed .
Best wishes from the USA 💕❤
I have seen and heard Alma before and admire her great talent. This interview had a special resonance for me because as a small child I lived in the Hochhaus with my parents until we were forced to leave Vienna in 1938. I have since visited it and it is indeed very impressive.
She is not from this world. She is a very valuable gift.
Alma is amazing! I mean, brilliant! Real genius! No question about that...
Alma lights up the world with her music and spirit.
This is how it's supposed to be.
Don't let anybody else tell you what to compose!
Please, please, please, just let your heart rule here... The world needs what is in your heart - watch them flock to listen!
Excellent interview! Excellent questions!!
✨💛✨ Alma, I want to see your full Cinderella, uncut! ✨💛✨
✨✨🌼✨ And a full opera story of the sweeper of dreams! ✨🌼✨
21:48 “I don’t go telling people how they should compose their music. I don’t see why other people should tell me how I should compose my music.”
22:39 “What’s important is to try to tell an interesting story in music, and take the listeners on a beautiful story and write beautiful music.”
Excellent interviewer, excellent questions. He relates to her as an adult composer. I would have liked if he asked her if she has any 20th century composers she admires - what of Ravel, Prokofiev, Shostakovich? Stravinsky?
Her dad probably keeps that away from her.
There isnt much new stuff that hasnt been said by Alma or about Alma. Dont understand why you think the questions were clever. He just repeated what has been said many times before.
Superdotada. Einstein de la música, versión femenina. Los genios existen. ¡Brava! Premio Nobel... Espero que lo reciba pronto.
This guy seem nonplussed, not too impressed. She’s just matter-of-fact about everything but really she’s quite mind blowing. Multilingual to boot.
I remember watching an interview on the BBC about 4 or more years ago, I was totally blown away, it’s great to see how she has progressed and grown over the years.
Alma is just BREATHTAKING on so many levels xoxoxo
Every time I watch this genius, I say to myself "You, lucky son of a gun, your regrets that you did not live in Mozart's times and became a friend of his are over; now you are contemporary with a subsitute!"
I feel sorry for her. Her prodigious talent and intelligence means that she'll find most normal people impossible to understand.
she´s such a middlefinger to this superficial nonsense tik tok generation! gives hope!
Alma is on Tik Tok, check her out
I wish that she succeeds in everything she does. Her vision is very important for the world.
modern music.. I compose it now . love that. Some of these questions.. I cant I just cant.
Agree...some of his questions are out of touch with the special unique Alma brings to this world like no other living human being to date.
@@jenniferjoyner112 Emily Bear plays a different position in her league.
He really just spent 3 minutes introducing Alma
16:04 My eyes are wet 🥺🥺🥺
A very talented & highly intelligent for her age. Not many interviewers are on par with her but Matt has done his homework & knows what to ask.
Alma is a period composer so far. Fun to know how it would unfold if a composer from the early 19th century woke up in the 21st century.
In America, we are overwhelmed with girls her age that are totally and completely opposite from Alma, in so many disgraceful ways. They miss the value of life, maturity, confidence, civility, humanity and intelligence on all levels. Alma is the brightest joyful light transcending talent and invention and creativity, we need her.
Excellent. No Schöneberg, more Deutscher
Whose musik does she love?
Sounded like "Visetchtoss"?
Strange however, that the first composer I thought of when she played her violin concerto was actually Max Bruch.
His violin concerto was also in G minor, if I remember correctly.
Now. Let me think.
At what age did I write my first piano concerto?
Oh. That's right.
I never did.
No E-Phone. Very, very good!

Gerald Matt has a great idea for Alma's new opera or ballet. Takes place in Transvanian and other imaginary countries Alma created with all the composers inhabiting these places. Alma Through the Looking Glass? Enticed in by Richard Strauss's beautiful lullaby? Or an animation by Studio Ghibli's Hayao Miyazaki?
I also think , Disney should make a new Fantasia ... hand-drawn , colorfull , with her music ... and maybe with Transylvanian figures and stories in it. Disney would make a fortune out of it.. and this world would have a big masterpiece more - in music, as in movie , and even the children would be part of audience (in opera there aren't usually a lot of children in the audience).
@@PygmalionFaciebat Bringing our wonderful Alma Deutscher into the eyes of the world in greater appreciation. Done with care and Alma’s full approval would be awesome.

💖😊💖
A brilliant variant on the Cinderella story.
I like to write rude limericks.
Can you find someone for me?
I wonder what she would say about Thelonious Monk.
is this the "Interesting" girl from twoset violin?
Yes.
Was already waiting for any twoset reference.
@@michaelkarlinsky1485 I would like the lads to play a trio, violin, viola, and piano of her work.
@@warrengwonka2479 agreed
If you get another call from Vladimir Putin, my advice is this time, to put the 'phone down.
Alma is the spring-like encarnation
I find it really interesting that Alma's teeth do not seem to have fully "come in" yet, this seems to be coherent with her general childlike grace and innocence that is sadly usually gone at her age. Maybe that seems an odd observation but actually, puberty generally starts earlier now than it used to and considering Alma's general character it wouldn't surprise me at all that she has retained childlike characteristics.
Need I to express how creepy that comment is?
@@Hanna1968 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Weird dude. So very, very weird.
Alma likes to improvise. Unfortunately, that ONLY works for composers that have been dead for 200 years. Otherwise, she would end up being sued for copyright infringement. As for me, any FREE interview with Alma is impressive to me. I rather liked this interview. Alma has produced so many different versions of Cinderella, that it is indeed rather confusing. As an English speaker, I prefer the English adult version. Alma has been commissioned to write a second opera. In addition, Alma has been dancing waltzes in Vienna for fun. I don't know whether I have been disappointed with her, but she is currently being managed by people interested in making money. Her interest is in introducing people to classical music, provided that they have enough money to afford watching her stuff.
The difference between Cinderella for adults, and Cinderella for children?
In the adult version, she cut out all the sex.
What comes next?
Ah-ha!
I know it's not really your "thing".
But please write something beautiful for the German Popsängerin: Helene Fischer.
It might take you a couple of hours. !!!!
Let's hope you can separate her from that ghastly circus.
There is a kind of format to such songs. Listen to a few, and you will soon understand the format.
Ms Fischer made her career out of singing Schlagermusik composed for her by Jean Frankfurter.
His compositions for Ms Fischer (and ONLY those which he wrote for HER) are nearly always full of melodic invention.
You would like them as much as I do.
I am not sure that having this interview in English was a good idea... I am quite sure Almas German is a lot better than Matts English... pfff...
This is in her first year or so in Germany. Her German is better now. However, The Viennese language is very different from HochDeutsch. When I visited Vienna in my six months at Stanford in Germany, if someone came by and said something, I could hardly understand a word unless he switched to HochDeutsch.
Alma is the star and Herr Matt does not understand how to engage her personality in an eyeball to eyeball discussion. He is so married to his notes that his rambling agenda gets in the way of her replies. She has such daunting talent and will be a gift to the world for many years.
Suggestion for Herr G. Matt…next time sit the composer at a piano and ask her questions not on a stiff chair in a well lit studio asking stupid questions. Her answers will come from her fingers on the keys! She can only express herself with music, Gerald. Not words.
Alma shined as the adult in the room, not the interviewer in his nicely pressed suit.
11:52 Transylvania is not a country. 🙈🤦🏻♂️😅
Transylvanian. Not on this earth.
