- Amira Willighagen and Alma Deutscher perform an extract from the recently-completed opera, 'Cinderella', composed by Alma Deutscher.
The performance took place on Saturday 12 September 2015 at a charity concert held in St Martin's Church, Brasted, UK.
The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the SUDC Foundation in memory of 21-month-old Rex Gooden who died of unexplained causes in February of this year.

Absolutely stunning, so deep and ripened at the age of ten!. We have found the reincarnation of Wolfgang Mozart and it is a young lady called Alma Deutscher.
This is like a performance from professor Xavier's school.
It is isn't it? It's like a secret society of super geniuses. I'm not religious, nor a believer, but if anything makes me feel there is a divine it's Alma Deutscher. Amira is angelic.
What Amira did in this video at age 11 is out of this world. She displayed without a microphone a vocal power of a seasoned adult soprano. The musicality that Amira injected into the phrases practically prescinds musical instruments behind her. The operatic theatricality displayed by Amira is fantastic, with gracefulness, expressionism and high fluidity of gesture. Her physical posture is impeccable and efficient. Amira gave a show of mastery, vocal agility, range, rhythm, focus, emotiveness, and beauty. It is because of such performances that Amira possesses legendary stature early on. Surely there is already a spot reserved on the Walk of Fame for Amira's star.
True but it might be worth it to mention that Alma showed up. .... And wrote the opera!

@@ramyan8846 Name a single person her age who is "better" than she is. Go on. She has written a fughetta in her violin concerto. You could say this isn't a "proper" fugue, but even Mozart didn't write a proper fugue until he was in his late teens.

She stated in an interview that she loved the theatre works Rodgers and Hammerstein. Have you even heard her "siren sound" waltz? The opening is entirely dissonant.

Your comment obviously comes from a place of jealousy. When someone sings, do you tell them that they "aren't the best in the world"? Well, only if you're jealous because they're better than you.
I think it's pretty obvious she isn't the best in the world at singing, nor are you the best in the world at the piano.
Amira may be the best soprano in the world. I was shocked to hear Alma sing so well too! -while playing the piano! Where did Alma get such vocal ability? This is the first anyone knew. One wouldn't know that they weren't both singing on the same level! Double WoW!
There is a video somewhere of Alma singing a bit of "Queen of the Night" at 3 years old. I guess if you're prodigiously musically talented like Alma, singing is just one more way to convey that music, even if your vocal quality can't approach Amira's! Emily Bear also surprised some people with her decent singing voice.

Are you serious. Comparing screechy Alma with Amira. Alma is singing directly into the microphone. Nevertheless when Amira, at 3:25, puts on the turbo poor Alma can't be heard even with the help of the amplification. 😄

How, just how, does this prove the presence of a god? And which god do you mean anyway? Jehovah, Shriva, Venus, Thor, Woden, Zeus?? I mean no offence and you are entitled to believe what you want but I feel it is unfair to attribute superb human talent to a god for which there is no good evidence. Just my opinion.

It's not that she is a genius, That is more than obvious. Child genius comes and goes and I have seen a hundred of them standing on stage playing great music and then you never hear of them again. This little girl is miles above them and out in front, she embraces it and lives it fully and completely, she loves what she does and does what she loves. You can see it in every part of her being. This one is going to set the classical music world on its edge. Dust off the mantle of great composers and make room, there is a new one on the horizon.

If I were directing I would gave to instruct them to do few really off chords so they could glare at each other, preferably alternating which girl sings the bum note. Basically most of it should be spot on and gorgeous as they are singing it now.

What a big discovery when one saw Alma played the piano and sang along, whereas one would be captivated by Amira's angelic voice. Both talented kids are a shining inspiration to other kids who only addicted to playing video games all day long.

Over a year ago now, that I was there. What an amazing concert it was. These two ...We haven't seen the last of them,. AWESOME. Next up the 9th of December 2016..Amira in concert....then Alma in Vienna four performances of her selfmade opera Cinderella......Bless them!!

Both are talented on their own way, Alma already composed an opera. Amira has an incredible voice, the future for both is bright.
Henk Oosterink. Alma has actually composed 2 operas, a violin concerto, a piano concerto and a piece for symphony orchestra. Her opera, Cinderella, just had its American debut with the San Jose Opera for 7 sold out performances and its European debut in Vienna in December, 2016 for 2 sold out performances. Both young ladies are international stars.

I may be wrong - but even if one takes into consideration that Almas singing role wittingly exaggerates and satirizes - I think she made phenominal improvement in singing. She has with her 10 years become quite a good classical singer.

I'm afraid I can't make out what language they are singing in. Alma's mother is English and her father is Israeli, so it could be English or Ivrit. However, givern Alma's prodigious talent, it could be Italian, German or Japanese. The opera has been performed in full in Israel, and will soon be performed in Vienna under the direction of Zubin Mehta. Alma also plays violin at a professional level and composes piano concertos. Of all the many child prodigies today, she is the most likely to be compared to Mozart, though she herself dislikes the comparison.

Five years ago yesterday! It’s wonderful that both Amira and Alma are continuing to grow in their gifts and produce beautiful music! This past week, Alma has been on the stage acting in Vienna, and Amira’s first solo concert is being streamed as an e-concert. It will be fascinating to see where they are in another five years. My very best wishes to them both and their families, as well as to all families affected by SUDC.
Alma has been studying conducting in Vienna while she polishes her next opera. Next month [November 2022] she will conduct her CINDERELLA opera in San Jose, California, on the San Francisco peninsula. Tickets are available.
Recently, when Cinderella fell ill in Salzburg suddenly with no understudy available, Alma played the role in German with three hours notice.

Alma's so amazing as she's so young but she won't be young forever. It will be more difficult to make an impact whilst an adult as there're so many extremely accomplished musicians out there! I'm not taking away anything from her brilliant talent, I'm.just saying she won't be able to say I'm only a little girl, as she used to say.
