I think three seasons is enough to tie up all the story lines. To go into a 4th season would really risk running out of substantial plot material and too much filler. If I remember correctly, the book was also divided into 3 parts.
Oh I love the original audio. No dubbing. I think seeing/hearing the two languages further emphasizes the complex nature of the two cultures, their history and their relationship with one another.
Ooh there’s supposed to be 4 seasons?! I honestly don’t know but I hope they follow through till the end 😭 This is such a good show! But it is a heavy one with a lot of history, so I’m not surprised it may not be popular amongst the young-ins.
The actor playing older teenager Noa is several months older than Kim Minha, his onscreen mother and the lead of Pachinko. Noa has a significantly meatier role in the book as he becomes an adult , including that plot twist. If the show’s producers age Kim Minha for subsequent seasons just like they did for her onscreen mother, they’ll probably do the same for the adult Noa instead of replacing Kang Taeju with another Korean actor.
Its been consistently #1 on the Top 10 since season 2 premiered. I think its safe as it would be a bad look for Apple to cancel a show after having a season run at #1 in the charts. Shows like Sunny, Lady in the Lake, Time Bandits premiered strong but droped to #3-5 after like 2-3 weeks.
Well I only found the time they mentioned that it could be adapted in 4 seasons, but renewing a third last season would be easier than renewing a third and fourth so I hope that the real goal for the production is only three, how sad that in these times we have to worry about these things. It is a really unique and special series, I hope it will be completed no matter if it is in 3 or 4 seasons, I have started to recommend it to everyone I know.
Anyone know if the actor who did the sweeping in the Nagasaki plant is the same actor who played the bad guy in My Mister? Thought they looked similar??? Thanks
I just want to know if season 2 is as popular as season 1 so I can be more relaxed about a third season (I'm even planning to read the book after season 2).

The actor (Kang Taeju) playing older teenager Noa is actually several months older than Kim Minha, the actress playing his onscreen mother!

There needs to be some flashforwards for Sunja and Kato.
Looks like we might be seeing him for a quite a while , including that plot twist.
I absolutely love this show! I hope there isn't a risk for cancellation. I tell everyone I know to watch it.
❤❤
