- One thing I've noticed, is that Bronze players usually don't go for the most optimized build, or the most powerful combination of heroes and units... They're gigachads who go for the coolest and fun to play heroes, and today, we become one of them!

Yeah I'm guilty of this too. I used to exclusively play Cryptlord first not because of any strategic reasons but because I liked bugs and he's a bug king, and I always picked Carrior Beetles because that's even more bugs.

I used to watch a series by hearthstone world champ Firebat called Deck Doctor where he would take a user submitted homebrew/strategy and Firebat would edit it to make it as competitively viable as possible while keeping the core theme intact. It's fantastic content and adapted to WC3 bronze replays, even better
When fire bat started to pull away from the scene is when I started to pull away from the scene. I think him and grubby have similar energy and I miss the dude a lot
@@MyNameIsDecember I was a massive Firebat fan, and now just getting into watching lots of grubby content and your right, they have similar vibes but I do appericate how Grubby has a very mature mentality when approaching gaming, his videos of coaching toxic players he runs into games is some of the best content on the internet
I never noticed that priests still auto-heal targets even after the player controlling them leaves the game. They really care about their team even when the player doesn't. That's pretty admirable.
After watching you for so long, my brain thinks I'm better at Warcraft than I actually am. "Ah man, you shouldn't have let him surround you. Rookie mistake." Like I've played the game in 20 years.

Grubby thank you for your contribution to the community. I started playing Warcraft in like 2010 and sucked since then (like no chance against normal AI level). Today i won matchmaking game and Im halfway through hard mode campaign. I think it is largely thanks to you, so yeah, loving the content!

low elo games can be much more entertaining to watch
similarly in chess there was a series of tournaments where ecelebs with no chess knowledge were trained to play and then competed in a tournament
Resulting games were very fun to watch, something similar in wc3 would be awesome
The "play this build" part is something I've not seen in videos like this series. Maybe it's nothing new, but it definitely makes it more interesting that just watch lower levels.
2:58 Wait, you can actually spawn beetles from creeps, and two of them? Am I missing something or that's exactly what happened here? Creeps leave corpses you can use like that? And got two beetles like they're zerglings?
Yup, that's normal. You summon 2 per corpse that get progressive stronger with skill points, max 6 alive at a time.
@@NewbInLife I ain't played UD in PvP and the campaign only has one per corpse to a max of five. I know multiplayer patches don't affect campaigns, so did they change it some years ago?

Im a star craft 2 player and x league of legends player. I always thought about playing wc3 but been scared. Its a very involved hsme with similer but different hotkeys that throw me off. These bronze replays really help me get motivated to learn and try to play
NGL when I played Undead, long before Reforged, as my offrace, I LUUURVED Crypt Lord. Sometimes I played Undead just to use the Crypt Lord. Super cool beetle hero with interesting abilities.
I honestly didn't know formations hindered the movement speed of units. I always make it a point to turn it on because I can't stand seeing my units not standing in formation whenever they're idle

I loved Cryptlord back then, because it was a giant bug and looked cool. He had many cool abilities. His ultimate, his spawning of more bugs. He was a spiky bug and his Q was cool too.

6:41 Bronze Humans seek a worthy challenge, they are no longer amused when they fight with a clear advantage (Playing as human is the advantage, I don't know how, but it just is.), thus to invite attacks, they will tech castle and expand to welcome an attack with open arms.
Human advantage is having budget footmen available at all times. Creep earlier faster if you want. Power building. Arguably the best hero roster. Can’t go wrong with human.
With the summon units you think it would be good for early creeping, thing is DK unholy aura is just too good.
I don't think Blizzard understood the power of early creeping, which was why for the longest time Humans always started Archmage, Orcs always started Blademaster, and Undead already started DK.
I'm a boomer and in the old days I usually went for cryplord with early cemetery (to summon scarabs), mass spiders then dk in t2 to heal my cryptlord (spike armour to max its tankiness). Maybe I was a noob but well I had some fun and some success with that strat.

I don't play online often, I own Reforged entirely (including graphics which IMO could be worse), but my heart is with 1.26. I play VS AI often, but I might try modern ladder on Reforged eventually. Anyway, I like thematic builds, including my own "names" for them like "Beetle Juice" which is Crypt Lord with Carrion Beetles & Crypt Fiends or "Feline Fury" which is POTM with Huntresses. Are they META? No, not even close, but are they fun? YES, ENTIRELY. Gimmicks are fun, unless you're losing to one, but that's beside the point. It's a shame a you can't simply win with what you enjoy most sometimes, you'll lose to paper as rock, but I feel Warcraft III has the best potential for creative strategies for an RTS. I do play with the popular old-school mod AMAI (Advance Melee AI) for single player vs AI, teams or otherwise.

Concerning formations, I think maybe it was intented as something we would turn on and off, like the formations are use in aoe2, almost like an army ability that you are supposed to toggle when needed like the flank formation is use to dodge in aoe2, and just as an option of course between two ways they could have done it, but yeah it turned out most of us just turn it off and never use it i d guess.
I think pros do turn it on sometimes to re-arrange troop formation before engaging, especially the bigger the battle. But i think having it off all the time beats having it on all the time, the disadvantage having it on is just too much

Me and my friend have dabbled playing off and on over the years and have had our own strats vs each other. Seeing these Bronze League Heroes series is making me want to play against others! Is the WC3 Champions active more than BNet or do each have their own advantages?

teir stratey of oin t3 and expansion works in teir elo and it mit be te best, if te enemy doesnt do te same (in tat case attack would be optimal).

You could try winning a game with overall APM averaging lower than 60, or trying to find what the best build would be with little to low micro - which relates to APM. I love your content and your creativity thank you for keeping this beautiful game alive :') Cheers!

if u have 400 gold lying around if u have 100 wood. If you just expanded and deem it safe then maybe grab one

As soon as tft dropped I was only playing cryptlord. Never played well of course. There must be something to him that transcends gameplay.
I havent been able to pllay WC3 since the latest patch. Says i have to repair it or reinstall. Ive done all of that multiple times and still says unable to load and its an endless cycle. Anyone know a sure fix?

Not sure if you are familiar with awful instagram ads that show some reaaaaly easy gameplay of a fake game, and the performance of the player is really bad. The intention of such ads is to make your blood boil with the stupidity of the decision of the "player" who play that "game" in the ad, so you'd urge to install that game and show how it supposed to be done.
I am getting the same feeling when watching your bronze league videos. So you're kind of abusing the same mechanics these ads use 😂
I understand, that it is a fake feeling in case of WC3 and I will perform way worse than the players from the videos, but still can't get rid of urge to try myself 😂
