My guess is that it was not an episode of L&O that included a lot of singing, which would be crucial to include in an audition for a musical. I'm wondering how they let him go on that long. I guess he must have been the last auditioner that night and they were just so baffled they couldn't look away.
I’ve always felt this scene and when Jim pretended to be a vampire was so risky with Dwight there, given his propensity to “defend” the office, added to the fact that he killed a neighbor’s dog that was a “werewolf”
i always thought “andy is actually okay at singing!” and then after years of re watching this show im now just realizing he plays in the lorax and actually can sing really well and im just an idiot
I went to a high school that had a very serious theater program. The Sweeny Todd cold open gave me flashbacks to us being forced to watch the plays as kid while visiting the high school in elementary and middle school. That part when they're all panting from the scene is classic theater humor.
Michael being so bummed out that he didn't get a part, kind of tells you just how hard he is trying to hold onto the thought that he is the "cool kid".
I wish the writers would have let Andy’s closing night performance go seamlessly-without the cellphone scene. I know that scene fits his character, but I would have liked to see Andy “win one”- like Kevin & the parking space.
@@mizzphitzbeta: I have never, ever been to a party where anyone wanted to watch a Broadway musical. Your idea of a "party" is the exact opposite of the definition.
It's one of the bigger mishandlings by the writers for sure, they managed to finally get everyone in the right place leading up to Dwight and Angela's engagement and then just dropped the bag at the end.
There are just so many things in this scene that made it one of my most funniest scene in the show. Dwight's knife being readied, Angelas spontaneous reaction, Jim's first reaction to the play, and more. It's truly one of the most "The Office" clips of the show.
This isn't the first time that the exact random episode I just rewatched is also where the latest upload on this channel comes from Loving the synchronicity. Or Scrantonicity!
The best parts always will be Dwigth taking a blade preparing to attack anyone there and Michael's enthusiasm and creating an awkward situation in the office.
"Last time I went to the theatre, a man dressed as a cat sat on my lap" Well a man dressed as a dog scared Julius from Everybody Hates Chris and thus he punched the actor. So join the club
Dwight grabbing his weapon in self defense is easily the best part of this.
Protect his coworkers at all times
They’re lucky it wasn’t mace.
You gotta be prepared in case a man dressed as a cat tries to sit on your lap…
