If that phone you found rings it might be London Calling!
good stuff... stop by... haven't seen you in ages... give a little to get a little
At 16:28 m8 that blue stone looks like a sapphire? Middle right noooo did you get it?
It is of course my anchor! And my bottle by the way!! Give them to me straightaway - you tea leaf you!! x
Such excellent finds found by the boys. Common name might not be such a bad thing after all, huh, Ms. White! Looking forward to watching next your video soon, Nicola. Be well from Washington state USA ❤
Haha! You are too careless with your property 😉👍🏻🧡🐾
You already got the lovely bear. 🧸🧡 Si's a good friend, isn't he! 👋🏼🙋🏽♀️✌🏽
The W printers type is also yours Nicola? 😁
Haha, l heard Si say " White is a pretty common name, (sorry Nick) " watch it Si she doesn't miss a trick 😄lol
Seems to me, the foreshore is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll find. Love Nellie, awesome cat. Love a good night lark.🍁🐘🇨🇦👣
Exactly that! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Never thought I’d find so much inner peace watching someone digging in mud 🙏
Nelson is a beautiful cat, love the black fur and green eyes. Thank you for putting him in the video. Lovely finds, you present history in a relatable manner. Doesn't seem so far off.
Thanks so much
So Cuffs is not only the 'knower of all things' but also Hercules! 💪 Good job he was there to help pull up the anchor and break off the crust! 😉
It turned out beautifully. I love the bottles too ❤️
Haha it’s all in the technique 😉

I thought you were going to give the classic response of “I must have loosened it for him!”
🖐 from America here. I cannot get over how you say "h" lol we say "ache", and you say "hache" lol. I love your videos and really wish I could go mudlarking! Thank you for everything you do!
Hi Si!
The anchor is a great find.
The forged ring attached to it is an indicator of it's age as that type of ring means the anchor was most likely intended to have hemp rode rather than chain.
The shackle that connects the ring to the chain as you found it appears to be a relatively modern adaptation.
In my experience these subtleties in anchor design and construction have been used in underwater archaeology to help date and identify wrecks that are associated with particular anchors.
Very helpful. Thanks!!
Love when cutie Cuffs is with ya!😉
You always find good stuff when Cuffs is with you. The anchor and chain was a great find. Looks fun mudlarking the Thames foreshore at night xxx
Cheers Gaynor 👍🏻🐾🧡
Rubies flouresce under black or ultraviolet light..good luck 🍀! What a Fantastic Anchor!!!
Cheers Tom 👍🏻🐾🧡
Great adventure, Simon! I always love it when Mike (Cuffs) accompanies you, as he has amazing skill or luck. Thanks for the back stories, too.
Cheers Steve. Yes he does. I’m busy ‘wasting time’ filming
@@Sifinds Hahaha...someone has to do the dirty work!
And he tugs and yanks and pulls the plug right out of the Thames! Oooops! Lol! Great fun! Lovely anchor...sweet Nellie!!
haha
I really enjoyed seeing this mudlarking by headlamp. It really highlighted Si & Cuff's addiction to low tide exploration! There are 50 million RUclips creators & Si is one of the best!
Got to love the Plantagenet token. Great anchor too, and the chain.
Cheers Jo 👍🏻🐾🧡
You went from finding an anchor with a 16ft chain to the tiniest bead. Can't get more opposite than that.
Right!!
Aw i love when you two go exploring and mudlarking always great banter🐺🤩🐒🐵🙃
it's fun to see the night time London, I was lucky enough to come to London and was fasciinated by the difference in one side of the river and the other. we were on a tour so I couldn't explore m uch but my exchange student daughter came in from her town and went on the tours with me. she was from Bristol and London, and a great person. now she is a grown up mum of three boys. the smartest lkgirl.
Love from the old lady in Texas may God bless you always and forever
Si! you and Cuffs always have special mud-ventures together, so much fun being a bystander to them!
Congrats on the token, the sabel cuff and the anchor!!
Great finds across the centuries
- The Thames hiding some wild secrets!
hello from Denmark 🌸❄
Cheers Z!! 👍🏻🐾🧡
The boys Si & Cuffs in their element. Love the anchor but when you find type it is so exciting. Those pieces are so tiny!
Love me a Nelson cameo!!!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Cheers Thelka. I love me some type!
4:01 That glass nodule thing is a worry stone. They were made as a sensory pocket toy to rub and fidget with! I have one but with teal, black, white, and clear glass. Amazing find!
Great finds Si and Cuffs. The Plantagenant coin was amazing, and the anchor is such a great classic shape. I don't know how you found anything in the dark! 😊😄
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻👣🧡
Ha-ha! Great token though, Cuffs - just amazing to think it's survived all these years - the things that little coin has seen... Super cool!
Your little pink stone at the beginning could certainly be a ruby as far as the colour goes, as rubies come in all sorts of shades, from deep burgundy through to bright pink!! However the facets look a little worn, which makes me think it might not be a ruby, as rubies (and sapphires) are very hard and are often used as abrasives for other stones (they are called corundum in that context), whereas that stone looks like it might be too soft. Other stones that can be pink like that include garnets (which also come in green), spinel, tourmaline, and more rarely, fluorite.
Interesting thanks so much
Could be what they call Rhodolite Garnet. They’re a pretty pink color.
Spinel or tourmaline
@@Sifinds ruby will glow hot pink under a u.v or black light.
Morganite is another pink stone.
I think that gem at 3:30 might actually be a Rhodolite. It's a type of garnet, but they tend to be a more violet pink.
Awesome thanks!
What a treat for this wonderful Sunday!!! Glad to have you apart of my weekly routine
Cheers Mudlover 👍🏻🐾🧡
Wow, beautiful anchor, and I loved hearing someone say... Cooooorr... 😂.. Lol... Been ages since I heard someone say that... Missing England... From Englefield green. Surrey.
The anchor is fantastic! What a great find!
Both Si and Cuffs always seem so positive and happy, it’s so refreshing! This is why I love binge watching this channel
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻👣🧡
The Anchor and Chain is a sweetheart of a find! Great name for a Pub too!
Cheers! 👍🏻👣🧡

Its Sunday and good day to dust off the metal detector!

Haha naughty boy 😉
Great episode - I always learn something. And thanks for showing your kitty!
Cheers Kim! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Just look at that anchor! Lovely Jubley! How dare you remove my anchor from my boat, put it back!🤣🤣🤣 lol, lovely find Simon!
haha! Cheers Ad
That Anchor was a really cool find Si-Finds
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻👣🧡
Thank you Si for your entertaining and informative videos. I am constantly screen shooting finds, details and sometimes your repurposing ideas. I live in the middle of Canada and have spent a lifetime here doing pretty much the same things with what we have to find here. But if I was there I would be mudlarking at every opportunity. As it is, six months of the year our ground is buried under snow and frozen to the depth of six foot. Now I am semi retired I have started working on cleaning up my finds and working on how best to display them in our home. A lot of my pieces I have gathered all the info I could on them as they are destined to go to museums upon my passing.I am going to try some new mudlarking ideas here this summer that I have learned on your U Tube channel. Anyways about ten years ago I purchased online three largish boxes of mudlarking finds that was from the estate of a mudlarker that had collected all their life, who they were I have no idea, but the seller claimed all the finds was from the Thames. When I received it, all the silver that likely was in there was picked over, but what I really was after was there. Just odds and ends or bits and bobs if you prefer. This winter I started to finish cleaning what was there and what I found under the final dirt coating is amazing. It has given me days of fun researching. Every time I go through the boxes something new catches my eye. And as I am learning so much on your channel I know more about what I’m looking at. It sure is one thing to have a whole item in your hand and quite another the figure out what a bit of something is. A word to all the mudlarker’s out there, never discard anything you pick until you thoroughly clean them and follow up on any numbers or letters or shapes that become visible. It is easier to throw them out at home rather than go back to look for them when you realize what you left behind. Anyhow I will close with letting you know one piece in my pile was a flattened out and caked with dried mud Viking Chape. There were many more other things especially ten hammered coins that were utterly invisible except for shape, under a coating of black smooth clay. Today I was looking at what appeared to be a three hole button but I spotted four sections that had three letters each. It was a clipped silver half crown from around 1672, of course the silver was black which explains how it was missed by the estate family. Anyways this is a good lesson for those of you that have the privilege to mudlark on the Thames. Make that privilege count.
Cheers David, thanks for sharing! 👍🏻👣🧡
Awesome bottle and it’s complete. That iPhone is crushed. Lovely ginger beer bottle. It was exciting to watch you guys dig out that beautiful anchor and chain, a fantastic find and cleanup. Marvelous little Plantagenet token. Nels looks like he had bird for lunch, 😆.
Cheers Coni - was just a random chicken feather lol! 👍🏻👣🧡
The anchor was a nice find and Cuff’s coin was very interesting. I was afraid you would taste that ginger beer (like the bottle dump lemonade) so glad you thought better of it.
Haha. Yeah it smelt rough
man made ruby's have that pink colour...that anchor is a beaut...Cuffs seems to have great luck with his finds...great video
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻👣🧡
Awesome nightlarking finds! Loved the doubled eagle head token/coin, whoa! My favorite is the anchor, many untold stories that go with it. Hope you rescued the copper nails! Great video!
Cheers pal. Yes I did!
its only fitting that I waited until nighttime to watch your night lark. Always follow the chain, you never know where it will lead. I have followed a few in my day, almost always to an anchor ⚓ 😁
Nice one Jim - great advice!
As always, what a fun adventure! I’m so glad to be able to follow you on it! Thanks for posting! Congratulations on some cool finds!
Another great episode! Thanks Si! (And cuffs) you’re both amazing 🐾♥️🐾
Oh, I just love your videos, Simon.
By the way, at 16:26, the 10 o'clock position, is a peach colored marble with all those copper nails. I hope you grabbed it.🙏🏼
That anchor is sublime.👌🏼👍🏼 The Thames cast offs are the stuff dreams are made of.🤩🔥 Cheers mate.💚
I said, "marble! marble!". My husband said "what are you watching?!" 😄
Cheers! I din't see the marble, perhaps it was a stone?
Great anchor and Cuffs is a good mudventure partner. Great teamwork. Nelly is a lovely cat. 🐈⬛🐈⬛ when you show the closeups of the tiny things I almost want to ask for a spadeful to be sent until I make it down the Thames lol.
haha, cheers Alex
Those curved ship nails ought to be collected!!! Someone would love to buy them as a set online, along with seeing thee video! And yes, GREAT token!! May I suggest you add a very small label to its underside informing that the label is a decorative artist's conception of an original, or whatever.
What a spectacular find that anchor was.
What a cool and interesting mud-venture. Thank you for taking us along.
Another great video. The anchor is really cool as well as Cuff's token . Loved the bottle with the stopper still in it . Can't wait to see what y'all find next !
Cheers Mello! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Awe Nellie and his feather was so cute! When he dropped it 'Wasn't me guv! you can't prove nufin'!'
Love your videos I think it’s a A ruby. I love when you find stones hope your keeping them for a rainy day. Never know might find a cool peace of jewellery. And you can add the stones. I wish I could mud lark like you guys who knows might win a crap load of money I can fly over and join you guys one day.
Buried Treasure, Kenny Rogers.... Priceless.
Muddy madness is right! The anchor and chain segment looks quite sinister! Movie material.

I know you love anchors ... congrats Si !
Love the anchor, thought you may have to leave it behind for a while there, or get the bolt cutters out! Percy Verence is a patient guy
Cheers Shirley
Awesome finds for the both of you.
Cheers Jana 👍🏻👣🧡
Looks like Nellie was burping up a bird! That anchor was a great find. Do you think the chain was original to it? It looks like a rope would fit it better. Let us know how old they think the sword sheath is. It is amazing how the Thames mud preserves things.
Yes the chain looks more modern in comparison
Love your episode…yet again. Thanks Si and Cufs
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻👣🧡
Thanks for the video and chat, Si. That anchor and chain was intriguing to find. Nice to see Cuff again. Enjoy the week ahead, and pet Nelson for me. He is a beautiful cat! Cheers Simon.
