  • In this video, we aim to educate and raise awareness about the early symptoms of ovarian cancer, so that you can take proactive steps, towards early detection and treatment.
Ovarian cancer is a silent killer, that affects thousands of women around the world every year.
It often goes undetected, until it has spread within the pelvis and abdomen, making it difficult to treat effectively. The problem with ovarian cancer, is that its symptoms are vague, and can easily be mistaken for other less serious conditions, such as digestive issues, or hormonal imbalances.
The development of ovarian cancer occurs, when cells in the ovaries begin to grow abnormally, and uncontrollably.
These abnormal cells eventually form a tumor, which may become malignant, if not detected early enough.
5 Important Ovarian Cancer Signs You Should Know
    5. Sudden change in bowel movement - Changes in bowel habits can manifest in a variety of ways, from constipation to diarrhea, blood in the stool, or changes in the frequency or consistency of stool.
    4. Pain in the Pelvic Region - Pelvic pain, whether sudden and severe, or chronic and long-lasting, is a discomfort or pain in the lower abdomen, pelvis, or perineum. It can be an indicator of an S T D, like chlamydia and gonorrhea. Pelvic pain can come from different body systems, such as the digestive, reproductive, and urinary systems. Even the muscles and connective tissues in the pelvic floor, can cause pelvic pain, especially the chronic kind.
    3. Bloated Abdomen - The feeling of fullness or tightness in the abdomen is the most typical sign of ovarian cancer. This sensation is known as abdominal bloating, which is caused by a buildup of gas in the intestines, resulting from swallowed air, food, or fluid, or from bacteria in the intestines.
    2. Severe Exhaustion - While chronic fatigue is a condition that can take a toll on your well-being, there's no standard medical definition for it. Identifying the root cause of extreme fatigue can be challenging, as it may stem from physical or mental conditions.
    1. Frequent Urination - Did you know that urinary urgency can be both a symptom of ovarian cancer, and a sign of interstitial cystitis, a chronic bladder condition that affects many women around the globe? Interstitial cystitis causes inflammation of the bladder, and can lead to pain in the pelvis or lower abdomen, as well as a frequent and urgent need to urinate.

Yesterday I sat with a GYN Oncologist and listened as she told me I have ovarian remnant syndrome and having surgery on the 11th to remove it and make sure it's not malignant. My history is much like yours. Only mine was at 29 years old. I am 58 now and having bloating, belly pain. And yesterday started throwing up black. Very tender still but stopped vomiting. I have not been to a gyn in years. Maybe I should.

    We need ovary detection tests!
I am diagnosed with the RAD51D mutation gene. I’m on waiting list for removal of my ovaries and the remainder of my fallopian tubes to be removed as a prevention to Ovarian cancer. The RAD51D is also linked to breast cancer and now “maybe” also to pancreatic cancer as well. I inherited this gene from both my mom & my dad so I was born with it. I am high risk for this gene bc I’m age 65 so I’m awaiting my preventive surgery at Women’s College Hospital. My hospitalized stay in 2021 was my silver lining to finding this RAD51D mutation gene bc I signed up for Mount Sinai Gencov blood study to help with covid research and with that came Genetic testing which I didn’t know. Thank god genetic testing was a part of my Gencov study!!!🙏🏼
I have been getting menstrual cramps for the past 4-6 months and ultra sound was negative. I now left a message with my family dr that I still have these menstrual cramps and they are more now and closer together. Very worrisome. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Now I hope I have enough symptoms to get my GYN’s attention and not be shrugged off.
I am 52. Female, have sharp pain on right lower pelvis. But it comes and goes. I had a hysterectomy in 2009, but they left my ovaries.
I did not know smoking could cause ovarian ca. i will stop.
I have nausea and what seems to be lots of stomachaches. Lots of gas. Like hurting gas.
Urgency to urinate. Seems like I can’t hold it as long.
I am married, basically celibate. I am also on HRT have weight gain.

Fighting stage three now…I did go to my docs about the symptoms but because I’d had a total hysterectomy 35 years prior they didn’t even speak of anything pelvic related. I had to demand an ultrasound. I’m 10 months in treatment so far and no one knows if it will be eradicated.
