I have 4c hair and use box dye twice a year to increase porosity. It works well for me. For those who will complain about the texturising advice, walk a mile in low porosity/4c + shoes before you open your mouths.

Thanks for dispelling that no oil, no butters clickbait. BGC preaches no raw oil or raw butters. They ask that we properly cleanse our hair and stop putting our kitchen items in our hair. I've been following this method for over 2 years. Many of my products are formulated with oils.
My shame is learning how to properly cleanse my hair and scalp at 60 years old.
I have color treated hair and occasionally use olaplex. It works fine for me.

7:23 preach....for the most point I wear my hair in the SAME style and I'm good lol... I make my owe hair butter and I put about a dime size essentially at the ends... Sometimes I do grease my scalp about a day or 2 before I shampoo. Other day I put a homemade protein oil avocado mayo olive oil lavender in my hair about 30 under a hear cap... Really have me the moisture my hair needed...season summer coming.
    This was a great followup.
Olive oil I only used it for the mask which is rare...I don't use it hair butter...as I didn't like how it made my hair feel. I don't get dandruff.
    Excellent content.

i had seborrheic dermatitis in the past and I had to try and clear my gut/gi system. it wasn't 'happy' inside, so symptoms showed on the outside. fungal infections on the skin may mean there's a need to address internal issues too and not just changing products. I like that she pointed out allergy symptoms. around the 14: mark

@@soraya2327 I had other issues that a gastroenterologist was able to diagnose and treat. After that treatment, I realised that my skin issues cleared up. It was a great side-effect. Probably best to have a doctor check it out to rule out any issues on the inside.

Raw ingredients are great for cooking, not for hair. I let the chemists and biologists do the heavy lifting. I am happy to hear that I have not lost my mind. I watch these ladies online talking about moisturizing and sealing multiple times a week and I seldom have to do anything after my wash for two weeks. I always deep condition, hydrate with a bit of protein, add leave in conditioner and then apply my silicon based serum. Sometimes my stylist is amazed I added nothing else but it does not need it especially if I am not wearing my hair down for a long period of time.

I had seborraheic dermatitis for years until I changed by diet eliminating yeast and dairy. It stopped within 30 days without using medication or medicated shampoos. It has been over 10 years and I don’t even experience dry scalp. It’s our diet that causes most of our hair issues. I have found caffeine as the best input for growing hair as well. Not on the hair but increasing foods or liquids without having an intake overload.

Huge thanks for this content. I found it very helpful. I plan to apply what was learned. Question: what kind of hairbrush is best for people with damaged relaxed hair. I feel like I need to brush my hair and feel it on the scalp. I have not found a brush that really works. I am considering the Mason Pearson line but really would be okay with a less expensive version if it worked.

IDK. Natural, organic, virgin coconut, olive, and avocado oils have done right by my hair. And if it's really natural oil it doesn't need to be formulated.

    • @styleandbeautydoctor
      @styleandbeautydoctor  Год назад +5

Glad it works for you, but that’s not the case for everyone. And it actually does need to be formulated though-things in nature aren’t always consistent, sometimes the particles aren’t the right size, etc. Just like you wouldn’t eat raw wheat or grain.

Doesn't bleach also loosen texture and break disulfide bonds? I was platinum in high school and my hair looked and felt so much healthier with just alternating moisturizing protein treatments and moisture-heavy deep conditioners. I think I'll try it again. If it doesn't work...then I'll just cut it again 🤷🏿‍♀️

I'm sorry but I had to pause this video because the advice she's giving for locs is wrong! The greenhouse effect would cause mold because locs hold moisture unlike loose hair. And the comment that we cannot wash as often, false! Someone worried about washing is more worried about their immature locs coming loose. If that happens then the method of starting locs is old school and that loctician needs to get with the times! Palm rolling (old school technique) would definitely cause the hair to unravel so the idea of "don't wash for weeks" is where that came from. In fact, water is key to locing the hair because it'll mat together but in a cute strategic way. A lot of loc girlies nowadays are coming from the wig life and you'll notice they talk about the locs not being moisturized because they're used to baby hairs and other types of gels and butters used to style. Their focus should be on hydration! Washing your locs every 7-10 days is ideal to not having lint and buildup of gunk from products. You literally can retwist with plain water, the gel is mainly used to hold the style for days! This is why I switched to the interlocking method. All she uses on my hair is shampoo, conditioner and a light mousse while she interlocks my hair. I don't have an ounce of lint or buildup (aside from the four locs at my kitchen because those are the locs that constantly touches clothing etc) and that happened when my old stylist used gel 🥲. I'm 3yrs loc'd and my daughter is 6yrs loc'd and people compliment us all the time because they're clean and bouncy ❤.

Well right now we have about four hair growth serums out here and we should be supporting each unless we know for a fact they don’t work why are you guys not recommending the use of them everybody just trying to get theirs we have almost a pandemic of black womens hair falling out to alopesia, CCCA yet curtain ones of you are not speaking about it and it’s going from quarter size bald spot to darn near all of their hair that’s why so many are wearing wigs. I believe lot of the problems are coming from wearing these deseased wigs adledgetly yet everyone keeps boating for the company who sell them. How many yet women you know or heard suffering from baldness.

Nice to know my naturally high porosity hair is just damaged hair. I would be concerned except she said you can't or don't wash locs as frequently as loose hair and... well, EVERYTHING that was said about seborrheic dermatitis.. especially the part where she says that if she sees flakes she diagnosis seborrheic dermatitis. I ... wow. Seriously.
But then she closes the door all together when she decides that the tightest coils are low porosity and can't grow unless you weaken your hair, like low key relaxer?
Lmfaooooooo. Ok. Oh. Wow. Is she a for real legitimate doctor with a license? If so is that in America? Cuz.... just wow. Just....
    So. Much. Wrong.
Its terrifying to me that this is the best answer we have to the eurocentric medical education. There's gotta be better, standardized and wholistic education that covers the rest of us, cuz otherwise you get this mess of conclusions based on half truths and in my experiences and then we wonder why nobody ever gets a solution to their medical issues. Smh.
No hate. I can see she is answering in earnest but omfgggggg the debunked ignorance she is still carrying. Sigh.
