I developed contact dermatitis from using hair products containing fragrance, so now I use fragrance free products which are unfortunately uncommon. I wish there were more fragrance free products on the market.
So knowledgeable! This woman knows her chemistry. Thank you both for the informative content. I’d love to hear more about the science of hair and hair care. This cleared up a lot. Especially the information about parabens and formaldehyde.
When my hair started being wavy after years of being straight, I reached out to the interwebs for help. I didn't go down the sulfate free/silicone free rabbit hole for too long before I realized most of the people suggesting this were full of themselves and didn't know chemistry.
I just had a convo with my sisters and mom who all have natural hair about how these products for natural hair doesn’t have natural ingredients, this is right on time! Thanks ❤
@@styleandbeautydoctor I worked too hard to get the harsh chemicals out to go natural so it seems kind of redundant to put chemicals or not so natural products back in my hair even though it claims to be for natural hair. ( I make my own now everything I put on my hair and skin I can eat it) I have friends that’s suffering right now with alopecia, cancer among other things to their skin and hair. So I figure if I can’t eat it I don’t want it on my skin or hair. The only thing I’m having an issue with is keeping my husband and the kids from eating or drinking it even though I have it labeled in the refrigerator😅
@@tammierawls8174 Interesting. Curious, how long do they last or how frequent do you have to make them to prevent spoiling? And it's good that you're not allergic to the natural products. Unfortunately some are, like peanuts for instance. I'm just curious of course do what works for you.
@@nancykerrigan thanks I grow a lot of my own herbs and my mom sends me honey from her bee farm I have aloe plants and I also have goats and use goat milk in most of my hair/skin foods. I don’t knock what everyone else does for their up keep. I just know it doesn’t work for me and I had to find a way for me. A lot of what I use I can actually freeze it so I’m good on the “not going bad too soon “especially making it in batches.
Girl. You read my mind about natural hair. I was just thinking about going back to my old school hair regimen because using these other methods (hair RUclips) got my hair not growing lol
An informed decision is the best kind, I enjoy RUclips but I get my medical/scientific information from my doctor or like Danielle said from the consensus of opinions that are un-biased.
Such great information. If I could make one comment cause I think it has happened in other videos. The volume in your video goes from normal when you talk but it goes really low with the guests portion and so I have to turn it up all the way up and also need to use my speaker. 🙏🏾❤️
thank you! I think I might have on Urban Decay Stay Naked foundation here---but I rotate foundations---lately between the UD, MAC Studio Fix Fluid, NARS Light Reflecting, Dior Forever Matte
Whilst listening to this, I got the vibes of a cigarette company telling its customers, “look, you are fine with smoking one stick a day, just don’t over do it and you may or may not have cancer”. She says alcohol is fine, at the same time agrees it is drying but it’s most likely the formulation, or concentration …so we all agree it is drying!? She captures our attention by stating formaldehyde is naturally occurring in the body but later exhaled, but oh yea it’s known to cause health issues , only when inhaled . She says surfactants are ok, yet emphasizes on the ‘milder the better’ , which is it then? Is it ok ? Is it not? Is it only the mild that is ok? She actually agreed with concerns people had, but her point is , when used ‘well’ they are okay. Hm , I shall pass . As for me and my house , we shall continue to look for safer options lol . She’s a chemist, a cosmetic, this most likely her business. You are your own best Dr / researcher.
Hey! Thanks for watching! I would consider that you rewatch this to gain a better understanding of what was actually said as I think you missed some nuance based on your reply here.
@@styleandbeautydoctor I think when people are set in their thinking, they only hear what validates their thoughts so I don't know if her watching again will help.
Just like everything, we can't overdo things. Fruits are good for you but if you overeat certain fruits, you can end up with sugar issues especially if you are predisposed

I use products with sulfates and silicones and my hair is healthy and long,
I know I should be paying attention to the info in the video but I’m loving your hair. Are those bohemian braids?😍😍
Great video. The information is very precise.
IMO The only ingredient that should also been discussed is mineral oil/petroleum jelly.
It's not actually the demon many claim it is. It has It's uses and is actually good for those things
