I hate how they make the politician look as if hes just power hungry. He's not; he's a scientist and practical by default. He knows that the plan is the best way to save his species, and he sticks to it. When leadership disappears, which will result in problems and chaos, he immediately moves into the position to ensure the plan keeps flowing. So yes, I disagree with this portrayal.
I think one of the main ideas of this movie is that when disaster strikes, pure logic doesn't always align with our humanity, and we have to make difficult choices as to which one to follow.
It isn’t very practical since most of the people on the ship were rich people who could afford the ticket price. And most of them were old and probably no longer in their fertile reproductive age. If he was truly practical he would’ve chosen young people with high egg count and high sperm count derived from national health records and offered them a room in the ark. When it comes to efficacy in continuing the existence of a species it is important to prioritize young fertile specimens not socioeconomically privileged individuals
@@henrylivingstone2800 The Arks would have never been built without the wealthy. The whole point of having them onboard with the plan is that they could build the arks in secrecy.
I like this movie but its based on a prediction that this world will end on December 21st 2012 because that's the date that the Mayan calendar stops on. December 21st puts it 4 days before Christmas, yet there are no decorations and it looks like it's set in the summertime.

Wouldn’t that be a Christian perspective? Seeing as how they’ve radicalized to the point of seeing gay people and slutty women being the cause of an imminent apocalypse?
I am watching this in the year 2045, we are currently about 3 months away from a impact of a large asteroid! Called HM/ANE1469…it’s 37 meters across, going to strike in the Pacific Ocean. Around Hawaii. Stressful times.. but not expected to impact Hawaii too much, oh uh.. yeah so, yep!
This is why I have trouble with things like Christianity you cam spend your whole life being as pious as you like in the hope you'll be granted permission to the kingdom of heaven in the end but when moments like this happen if you spend your final moments in terror and running for your life as is human nature then when that moment comes you aren't thinking about heaven anyway so it's kinda superfluous
So how is this a religious issue if it’s nature? Tbh it’s not based on how faith is supposed to “protect you” everywhere you go but to still have faith when it’s needed most
@texaswolf4655 I'd think when you're about to be crushed to death is when you need it most but they still run. If you compare it to the India scene, they know they're about to die, the megatsunami is about to kill them and many stay in place and pray. It's like the church scene in Kingsman: The Secret Service, no other self-respecting religion would let such a scene be filmed in a place of worship but Christianity is like 'meh, whatever'.
This is why I have trouble with things like vaccines you cam spend your whole life being as diligent with your physician as possible in the hope you'll be in good shape but in the end but when moments like this happen if you spend your final moments in terror and running for your life as is human nature then when that moment comes you aren't thinking about medications, vaccines, or your diet anyway so it's kinda superfluous
In the Bible, Armageddon is mentioned, especially in Revelations. Satan will release the Armageddon on Earth, yet those whom stick in faith to the Holy Spirit will be saved, and brought to the Kingdom of Heaven, free of doom, evil, pain, suffering, and sin.
St. Peters dome could not have fallen forward and certainly would not have rolled. It would have collapsed in on itself and down.
