I was working at a MB dealership and in 2020 we had a customer buy a new a class saloon. He had a 190e that he hadn’t brought with him as his daily since 1996 and was going to scrap it! I managed to get it for 3 bottles of wine worth €33 each and it turned out to be a decent car. Still have it.
Fantastic. I miss my 190e. I love how different they look to everything modern. I love that they're relatively lightweight, reasonably narrow for threading through traffic and that the suspension just sails round twisty corners without upsetting the passengers. (I might have just talked myself into getting another one!)
Love the old Mercedes actually well made cars before the accounting department took over the company
A great buy! I'm all for originality if you still have it.
Brilliant cars!!! I had an identical one back in 2014. Mine had only done 97,000 miles yet this looks so much fresher than mine ever did. Great buy!!
Good to see a bargain had and a good story, would be good to see the follow up and more of Josh he is a good egg.
Get it in the workshop, get everything sorted (including the sunroof) and it would still be a great car for £3k.
Old git here - I remember when the 190 came out in the early 80s, quite a phenomenon at the time. That's a terrific example (33 years old, one owner, all the history), and have a look at the interior, nothing is falling apart. A true time-warp car and I love it.
Built in the Mercedes era of when they put engineering and quality over profit, Lovely car, It will go on and on if looked after 👌
Apparently it's had the same mileage of 211,663 miles for every MOT since 2014, apart from 1 MOT where it increased by 20 miles but magically reduced by 20 miles the following year.
😮WOW omg it looks amazing and the bloke who turned it down for 500 pounds must have been crackers, nice car ❤love it
I had a 190E h reg. , sold it with 240,000 on the clock. Was mint, guy who bought it , was replacing his that he regretted selling with over 400,000 on the clock. They run forever.
Joe showing he's still a teen/young man at heart. Brilliant video this.
wow what a gem and good person you did not say g.y lol keep the good work up. respect to you . 😁
Nice content, thank you!
Wow what a cool car, like people have said it's had 211, 663 miles on it since 2014 😊 the Mot history makes for some interesting reading. So this could be a 230,000 plus car 👍 She is wearing her miles well ❤
Back in the 80’s/90’s the manual box was a big no no on one of these. Any Merc had to be auto - the manuals weren’t loved. Merc manual boxes weren’t great and 190’s were never drivers cars. They were the best however.
Great video! What a lovely car, you should buy it from him and show it!😎
Lovely to see an old classic on the road although I'm not sure Mr Khan in London would like it! Good to see it doesn't seem to have any rust. I've seen later models, around the early 2000s, start to rust over the wheel arches. Are all the bus drivers there that mad, even the one following you was catching up! Great video and would like to see a follow up.
Too good. Too good. Too good. Josh you bad boy robbing those lovely old people. At least wasn’t me on the rob in the trade again
