Hey if you watched this video and want to see more of my creative endeavors check out my latest short film that I am currently submitting to film festivals:
ruclips.net/video/NJyC2tJ75mI/видео.html
To put how important Lzzy is: she's the first female artist to have her own signature guitar from Gibson. And yeah she's been a role model for female artists everywhere.
The video of her presenting a custom version of it to Dani of the Warning is so awesome. Real recognizes real.
First signature Gibson electric and "Brand Ambassador". Sheryl Crow had a signature Gibson acoustic first.
Lzzy's and her little brother AreJay formed the band in 1997 when she was 13 and he was 10. AreJay came up with the band name on the way to their first live performance, it was originally supposed to be a 'fine for now we'll change it later' kind of name. Dad , Roger, played bass in the early days.
Lead guitarist Joe Hottinger joined in 2003, bassist Josh Smith joined in 2004, it's been the 4 of them since.
Lzzy is a bada$$, Floor Jansen from Nightwish is a big fan of hers. Dany from The Warning has called Lzzy, one of her idols.
Yes, you were close, song was released in 2012, it's on their 2nd album "The Strange Case Of...". 5 albums to date, #6 is in the works.
More Halestrom? Try "I Am The Fire", "Back From the Dead" and the ballad "Break In" , the redone version featuring Amy Lee (Evanescence).
You should absolutely listen to her duet with Amy Lee for the Halestorm song "Break in".
That's a ballad so it will give you a better idea of her range 😊
Also "you call me a b*tch like it's a bad thing" is such a mood 😎
I started listening to Halestorm in around 2015, after 'I Am The Fire' and 'Amen' got some radio play on the local rock station. (unusual, when they rarely play anything less than 30 years old!)
'Familiar Taste of Poison' is a slower song, great video. 'Dear Daughter' is a message to young women. 'The Reckoning' is a slow song with lyrics that promise bloody vengeance.
Many of Lzzy's songs have an overall theme of 'This woman is going to drink what she wants, and sleep with whomever she wants, and no one has the power to change me!'
If you reallly want to hear her screams (by the way I think that technique is calle "grit scream") you must listen to "Love Bites (So do I)" ... it's my favourite and I think their top hit
Hey Charis, if you want more Lzzy and Halestorm, they have a live session of Love Bites on RUclips. It’s their best song in my opinion (and so good the band Love Bites named themselves after it) and is a great quality recording of her vocals - you can really hear the nuances there.
Should see her and Def Leppard performing together doing a mashup of each bands "Love Bites".
Lzzy is a complete badass! She filled in for four shows with Skid Row(who you need to react to, Wasted Time). She absolutely killed it! And doing Skid Row classics is no easy task. Their original singer, Sebastian Bach, is one of the best to ever do it and she slayed! This is definitely a band you’ll need to keep checking into!
So happy you went here. She's known for her effortless screams plays the guitar and has numerous collaborations that are worthwhile as well.
Love the reaction. Halestorm is amazeballs! I also lurve the eye shadow! Very clever and appropriate.
"I am the fire" is another fun one to watch.
Arejay Hale (Lzzy’s brother) is a fantastic drummer. I remember In 2013 he received Revolver magazine’s Golden Gods Best Drummer award.
They started the band as kids and their dad played bass for them back then.
If you want to see a song that shows off Arejay a bit more check out Love Bites.
If you want to see a fantastic live performance by Lzzy check out “That’s Damn Rock N Roll” at the CMAs. It’s her preforming with Eric Church. It is criminally under reacted too.
I've seen them live, and Arejay really rocks and puts a real big show with his gigantic sticks ... amazing and also fun to see!!
HALESTORM Rocks. 2013 Grammy Awards winner Halestorm with Love Bites (So Do I) ... Lzzy plays lead guitar on this song. You gotta check it out.
She can sing any style of music ... and you wouldn't believe the diverse collection of songs recorded on their 3 Covers EP.
Lzzy is a beast! For more of a clean sound, you should check out "Familiar Taste of Poison," "Break In," or "In Your Room".
For A fun (?) song, do "I Get Off".
I love her so much.... One of the most powerful female voices in rock. She's so freaking good.
More Halestorm songs you def should listen to: Love Bites, Familiar Taste, I Am the Fire, I Get Off, I Like it Heavy.
Honestly, like 90% of their songs are bangers
If you want another lzzy hale song to react to I would recommend “break in” where she does a killer duet with Amy lee (from evanescence). Their harmonies are actually insane!
You have no idea what you just stepped in. In the Live Room!!!!! Amazing stuff. Best voice in Rock music.
Lzzy is an absolute QUEEN of a banger! She is fire
She is one of the best lead singers in rock. I saw The Warning open up for The Pretty Reckless and Halestorm. This was an amazing concert with woman lead singers in all 3 bands. Top hard rock singers.
She's great. She's been killing it with Skid Row.
Lzzy is absolutely a baddie! Love Bites is probably my favorite track from them but she's just fantastic across the board. Also, I loved the little outtakes thing at the end, I was cracking up over everyone commenting about Judas Priest not being hair metal in the last video. Like.. yeah, but damn, that really rustled your jimmies, didn't it, random viewer?
People love to help me push for the algorithm lol
I LOVE her outtakes! Always stick around for them because Charis is absolutely adorable. I also noticed your eyeliner, and you found your Rainbow earrings. 😊🏳️🌈
Lzzy is a total vocal badass, and all around wonderful human being. She can keep this up for hours, completely healthy vocal technique. I recommend a live performance of "Wicked Ways" from Colorado Springs. Shows her power as a vocalist and a front woman.
Great job with your reaction to the video and song l Miss The Misery from Halestorm . Lizzy HALE IS A BAD ASS VOCALS AND LEAD SINGER plus her brother who plays Drums are the ones who started this band.
That face you made when Lzzy came in screaming was priceless!😂😂
But seriously, Lizzie has gotten even better with time as far as her voice is concerned. She even did a collab with Amy Lee of Evanescence called "Break In" that I think you should react to as well. Sort of a contrast between the song you just heard and a softer side of her.
Yes I'm glad you finally experienced Halestorm. But this song is nothing compared to some. If you want to see jaw dropping live performance check out the song I Get Off live at Wembley last month. You have to pull it from the full length concert though to get how she dedicated it to all the women in the crowd and the most impressive vocal solo I've ever heard. Start 10:40 end 17:50. Would be perfect for this month theme too.
Love this video Lzzy is amazing. Love Bites studio version is really great if you want more. Great reaction thank you.
They won a grammy for Love Bites (So Do I). I think you'll love the vocals for that song! Either the studio version or the live room version is also fantastic.
My wife and I are divided on Halestorm. My wife likes the softer side like the duet with Amy Lee and there are others. I like those as well. Lzzy even has a collaboration with the Hu band from Mongolia “Song of Women”. It is very beautiful.
My favorite songs by Halestorm are the ones that are are hard driving songs where Lzzy lets that beautiful monster of a voice loose. They have many songs like that but two of my favorites are “I Like It Heavy” and “Back From The Dead”.
As always Cheers from Texas 🇨🇱🤘🏻😎
Lzzy’s ‘scream’ is more like a battle cry. She is like a modern day Viking. 🤘😉
I would recommend I Am The Fire for another Halestorm song, but if you enjoy the grit, I’d suggest The Picturebooks song Rebel feat. Lzzy Hale. She does a lot of collaborations and I enjoy some of them more than her work with her own band.
I've met them all on many occasions and have even been in 2 of their music videos (3 if you count the 1st version of Here's To Us they filmed but didn't release). They're all really nice people as well as great musicians. During a break in the Amen music video Lzzy even filmed a little hello video for my cousin who was a big fan and was suffering from a brain tumor at the time.
You would probably love the covers that Halestorm has done over the years; Bad Romance, Get Lucky and Empire State of Mind come to mind as good examples
Agreed, Bad Romance is a killer cover!
Don't forget "I Just Want to Make Love to You".
It's the versatility of those covers though, not sticking to one genre, but making them all sound like they do (if that makes sense). Just look at the three EPs. Skid Row, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Heart, Temple Of The Dog, Lady Gaga, Daft Punk, Whitesnake, The Beatles, Judas Priest, Sophie B Hawkins and AC/DC to name a selection. Some names there you would never consider as being coverable by the same band.
You put the idea of Lzzy Hale playing Lizzie Borden in my head and now I'm so upset this isn't happening and want nothing else. Oh my god, I haven't seen the musical yet but I can only imagine and it would be incredible!
You are welcome
she practices singing while riding a spinbike and treadmill and it shows
The live footage in the video is from The Machine Shop club in Flint Michigan. I've seen them twice in concert so far. I few years ago they opened for Alice Cooper and last year I saw them headline.
definitely need more halestorm - love bites(so do i), freak like me, i am the fire, you call me bitch like its a bad thing, i get off, here's to us, hunger strike cover album and live 2015 with Corey Taylor, still of the night cover, i hate myself for loving you cover, heathens covers, fell on black days cover, ride the lightning cover, uncomfortable, do not disturb, vicious, back from the dead, wicked ways, the steeple
Lizzy!
I like your eye shadow!
They are very good live
Definitely check out more of Halestorm. Lzzy is one of the best vocalists right now, and the rest of the band is always great. They have quite a few songs with pride themes like "Freak like me" (I mean the verse "So shout if you're a freak like me.
You were born to burn.
This ain't no disease, you don't need a cure.
It's our time now to come out.
If you're a freak like me", is not really subtle.. :)) and "Strange girl" that's dedicated to a young fan that came talked to her about her familys reaction when she came out and they basically said death would have been better), so yeah Lzzy wrote a powerful self empowerment song about beeing true to yourself.
You have to hear the live version of this song at the 2019 download festival. Its freaking awesome!!
CONGRATULATIONS on opening a new show! That's awesome! Now to watch the video. 🏳️⚧️😊🏳️🌈
Thank you!
A few others have mentioned Lzzy collabing with Amy Lee. I did not scroll down too far but I did not see what I was looking for. Just in case nobody else has already mentioned it, Lzzy also collabed with Lindsey Stirling on a song called 'Shatter Me'. Lindsey is AMAZING as a Violinist AND she dances at the same time that she plays! She was on America's Got Talent a couple of different times. She's AWESOME!
Lzzy is a goddess. You gotta check out their song "love bites(but so do I)" it's even more a banger than this one 😊
More Halestorm would be good! :D
Should watch her video with Amy Lee singing "Break In"
Halestorm rocks. I've listened to them since they first came out. Saw them at moondance jam in Minnesota
Separate Ways with Lzzy And Chris Daughtry is a masterpiece
Lzzy isn't actually a member of Skid Row, she just stood in for Erik after he left as they had some tour date obligations.
As for your mentioning of Lizzy the musical, there is actually a metal/hard rock band called Lizzy Borden (80s band but still going today) and the lead singer is called Lizzy Borden, but much like Alice Cooper, Lizzy is a shock rocker and a male.
Btw, not sure maths is your strong suit if you think 11 years ago was 2014 🤣🤣 .. sorry could not resist. That said, RUclips dates are not always indicative of release date of a song. Both the song and the album it came from, came out in 2012 so it is actually 12 years old now.
I was so into Lizzy Borden back in the day. Really fun band.
Just wait until you hear her and Dave Draiman cover "Close My Eyes Forever", originally by Ozzy Osbourne and Lita Ford.
Also, check out Halestorm's "Love Bites (And So Do I)".
Halestorm "Girl Crush" Little Big Town Cover Live @ SiriusXM // Octane ruclips.net/video/p0HQ913L5I4/видео.html
Lzzy has an amazing voice, and amazing range. Familiar Taste of Poison is a good example of that. It is a slower rather sultry sounding song, and has a very interesting music video.
Lzzy has collaborated with numerous artists. She does the vocals on a song called Shatter Me by Lindsey Sterling that I think you would really enjoy. The music video is visually stunning, but there is also a live performance that they did for SiriusXM that is well worth checking out.
Sorry that you have to deal with haters, but it is nice they help drive the algorithm for you.
Also I hope that you manage to get some sleep.
Take care of yourself, and Happy Pride.

Boy, did you pick one BANGING Halestorm song. I'm a huge fan. And damn if she can't destroy a guitar!!!
I have a chance to see this band live in September, I might take that opportunity
Check out lzzy Hale's collaboration with the native howl called "mercy"
You definitely have to check out the live version of Love Bites if you want to see what Lzzy can do.
Even better live
She has a bunch of hits. She won a Grammy for a song that ended up on Glee called Here's to US. Her first single was a highly sexually charged song called IGet off. A lot of people always request a B side from that album called Familiar taste of poison.
BTW, the Skid Row thing is recent. Sabastian Bach, the original singer for Skid Row is not happy that the band brought her in to replace him on the tour. 80's Baggage....
with the size of some of the heels she wears on stage im so shocked she hasnt fell flat on her face
Talent
@@CharisSellick she has plenty of that
Her brother Arejay Hale is the drummer. You should react to "I Am the Fire." It's a scream. She's using distortion. It's mostly a rock or metal thing. She's a badass as you can tell. Probably the best singer in her genre right now, male or female.
Looked like Bisscute in the thumbnail. 😄
More Halestorm ... I would also recommend Lzzy guest vocals with Stone Sour and Daughty just to name a few
need to do - I AM THE FIRE!!
I'd love to see you check out 'Mercy' by The Native Howl featuring Lzzy; it's one of her most recent recordings, and it's f'n AMAZING!
Is this the traditional yellow top of yore? Amazing.
I guess I got the stain out?
@@CharisSellick The stain was never on the yellow top, it was on your soooouuuulllllll. 🙂
U gotta love Lizzy Hale for growing up on Alice Cooper, Skid Row, Cinderella, and the 80's 'hair metal' scene... even tho Halestorm sounds nothing like the bands and artists she idolized.
i love u so much chariiss 🥹🫰
Lzzy and Arejay Hale are brother and sister. So Halestorm just makes sense. Like Van Halen.
Listen to "I get off"
One of Aunt yo Momma's favorites!
❤️❤️
BABYMETAL ElectricCallboy - RATATATA next
Halestorm - "I Am The Fire"🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

My favourite!
I can relate to the LGBT demographic as being a rainbow warrior myself and I'm not taking anything away from pride month but June is also mens suicide prevention month and I think we need to celebrate and talk about both of these topics. I am the B section of LGBT. I think you are awesome and I really enjoy your channel and your reaction videos. Rainbow 🌈 warriors assemble
B’s UNITE!
@@CharisSellick thanks for the heart ♥ and the reply, you rock 🤘. We will "B" united.
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😂😂😂😂😂
Please : Mayhem - Halestorm
But can she do it live? Check out Love Bites (So Do I) ruclips.net/video/awz0Qf7uPSw/видео.htmlsi=GKgB0sLlvxwK_8sD
She is in this other band, Skid Row😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂......honey, Skud Row is the band you should be reacting to. Try 18 and Life
Funny you should mention Judas Priest during Pride month. You could react to another of their songs this month. Why you may ask? Because their lead singer is gay.
I did but they blocked it 🫠
I actually opened with them
@@CharisSellickwell that sucks
Lzzy's 'scream' is a dang finger-slammed-in-the-car-door kinda noise.
And she's a damn good guitar player too.
"Why didn't we reco Lzzy until now?" ... cuz we didn't want to scare you.
Purveyors of clean tonez seem to get a scrunchy-faced, fingers bent-back, sort of reaction.... kinda like what you did.
Personally, I think you should take some lessons in harsher vocals... not flat out growls, cuz Munchkin Growlz are...cute.
Bonus notes:
1) Authors of weirdly homophobic comments should be sentenced to mandatory listening sessions with some of us vocally creative types doing Dramatic Repeatings of their drivel in whatever alternative voicings we choose. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it shits on your car.
2) oh crap, I was ear-straining to hear your final comments... low volume drifting off into the ether... turning up the sound-system volume and then
"O.K. !!!!"
Dearest, you owe me a tweeter.
3) Eyeliner - - sorry, I have no handy hints. You are on your own on this one. I might put somone's eye out.
Bonus Bonus :
Did you REALLY say "Ducks in a row" ???
Fer srs?
There are many of us ducks who Lemming-Line-Up for you on Cliff du'Charis, each and every day.
We are self-aligning ... and fabulous. Especially in Formation Free Fall.
We got your "Ducks in a Row" covered.
........ aaaaand I have no idea what all that meant, other than to give you more attention than is rational or proper.
Have a great day. Hugs to the animals.
IF you want her LGBTQ+ side, try Do Not Disturb
Not sure Lizzy Hale qualifies for 'Pride' month... she has a boyfriend 😁
So do I and I’m still gay.
@@CharisSellick But I'm straight and I don't have a boyfriend.
Doesn't make sense...
Going both ways, that's bisexual, not gay.
I'm not judging... I dated a girl who had a boyfriend and girlfriend (If 3 is a crowd, what's 4? )
@@sumonjamal1653 I’m not gonna argue with a straight man about what gay is lol
Im a queer woman, just take my word for it my guy.
@@CharisSellick Whatever floats yer boat, I guess... 👍
@@CharisSellick I mean, I get the gay part...
but gay w/ boyfriend makes no sense.
Bisexual, yes... LBGTQ for sure.
This song is great, but this is so gay. Ain't watching you anymore.
❄️❄️
....and well you should be paid....
