Halestorm are a great live band. They are real road dogs, their touring schedule is insane. So during the lockdown Floor was doing an Instagram live Q&A. When asked who her favorite female singer was she said Lzzy. Lzzy saw it and responded something along the lines of " OMG me too", many have been waiting on that colab for a couple of years now. Also Lzzy is a fan of the Warning (you recently saw their drummer Pau covering "Creep"). The Warning opened for Halestorm for two small tours this last year. During one of the shows Lzzy gave Dany (the lead singer/guitar player) a custom version of her signature Gibson Explorer Bird guitar. Lzzy also likes doing colabs with other artists. Amy Lee, Lindsey Sterling, Disturbed, Lita Ford, Alter Bridge, Daughtry, & Eric Church to name a few.
Saw them on a tour that my friend wanted to see, I was there for 'In this moment' holy shit blown away by Lizzy live, no album has come close in capturing her voice! She is so amazing live
100%. I've seen them probably 10x and she sounds exactly the same live and its amazing. She's such a powerhouse. I always tell people to see them if they can!
Having seen them live twice I can tell you she is as good or better live. Her sound is not “manufactured” it’s all real and sounds just like this live.
Lzzy is an incredible singer, Gibson Guitar's first female ambassador, and a big supporter of other female artists. The Warning toured with Lzzy and Halestorm this year and they're well worth a listen also. An up-and-coming hard-rocking sister trio that's opened for Foo Fighters, GNR, and is opening 4 shows for Muse this week. The Warning rocks!!!
The crazy part about Lzzy Hale is that recording can't capture how good she really is live. I saw them right before Covid hit and it's crazy how much better her voice is live than it is recorded. Definitely one of the greatest voices I have ever heard and she never seems to get tired, run out of breath or even lose the power at the end of the show. Great reaction.
There are some beautiful harmonies in Break In, but the song itself leaves me flat. Please do an Evanescence song. I'd suggest Good Enough as it is one of Amy Lee's best vocal performances.
Welcome to the amazing world of Lzzy Hale! You are hitting the nail on the head on all of Lzzy's exceptional vocal nuances. Elizabeth Zarhoff from The Charismatic Voice channel did an awesome, and long interview with Lzzy, where you can really get a grasp of just what a vocal nerd Lzzy is. Everything she does is deliberate, and with perfect technique. Even the screaming is done in a way that she does not damage her voice. She also has the best diction of any rock singer I have ever heard, there is never a Halestorm lyric that I can't decipher. Some of the best songs for you to check out: I Am The Fire, Love Bites (So Do I) live in the Sound Room, Familiar Taste Of Poison (live on Jimmy Fallon is a must), and if you really want to nerd out over brilliant vocals, Break In feat. Amy Lee.
@@TheVocalyst Best female rock singer today? given it is framed as a question, I would have to say no, that designation would undoubtedly go to Floor Jansen.
Been a fan of Halestorm since their first album. Lzzy is awesome. I place her up there with singers like Floor Jansen, Tatiana Shmailyuk, Brittney Hayes, and Alissa White-Gluz for power, control, and versatility. I'd love to watch you react to a Japanese all-girl metal band called Lovebites. I know you'd love them.
Had never listen to Halestorm till The Warning tour. I really like this song. The drummer is her brother. During the last tour Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, The Warning and Lilith Czar. Lizzy gifted Danny (The Warning) a guitar like hers. ruclips.net/video/ySuer4Q2vac/видео.html. Paying it forward. Some one did it for her earlier in her carrier. Lizzy said she would do the same when an artist re-energized and motivated her. She said when she saw how TW engaged the crowd and played. She told her band " We need to go practice ". Fun fact : The singer from The Pretty Reckless is Taylor Momsen (Cindy Lou Who (from the 2000 movie) "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".
Lzzy Hale is already a legend and is on a one woman crusade to keep great rock alive and well in the 21st century. All hail Halestorm, my favorite Rock Band so far since the last century. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Lzzy "F'N"Hale is a Rock Goddess...check out her cover of "I will Always Love you" The woman has some set of lungs on her. Also she is the only woman EVER to be named as an Ambassador to Gibson Guitars, proving more that she is a Goddess.
Lzzy is awesome! If you like this, then you need to listen to *The Warning.* You did the cover of 'Creep' by The Warning's drummer, now you need the full band. Lzzy Hale interrupted their set to kneel onstage and present the guitarist of The Warning with a Gibson Explorer. Try 'Disciple', 'Evolve', and 'Animosity' to start.
Like many, I highly recommend checking out Lzzy Hale and Amy Lee singing Break In. It's a live in studio version of one of Halestorm's earlier songs, but its pretty much the definitive version. Lzzy is also a vocal technique nerd and even as good as she was in this song, shes gotten even better over the years. I'd also suggest Back from the Dead off their latest album as an example of that. I also second checking out The Warning! Such a fantastic up and coming trio of sisters from Mexico, carrying the rock torch for the next generation.
The duet with Luke Bryan on the CMAs was pretty fun to watch as well. If any country fans watching that show didn't know who she was they did after that performance XD

I'd recommend the duet Lzzy did with Amy Lee. Song is called Break In. It's an absolutely amazing bit of vocals and a great demonstration of how 2 singers so in tune w/each other can sound.
Modernizing something said in the 60's....... You haven't lived, until you have gone to a Halestorm Rock show! 🤘💖🤘 1.5-2 hrs of non stop Lzzy belting. Never a sign of vocal wear & tear... Ever. 🦾
I became a fan of this band years ago. Lizzy sounds like both an angel and a devil. Her brother RJ is an incredible drummer. First new hard rock band I liked in 20 years. In part because I can actually understand every word! Thanks for this video!
Lzzy Hale, Dany Villarreal, Amy Lee.... my three favorite rock lead vocalists currently are these three, regardless of gender or age. 3 subtly different generations of female rockstars, but all current and active. You REALLY need react to Dany Villarreal (for example, Disciple MV, or Choke Live Session), and the Duet between Amy Lee and Lzzy Hale... to experience All Three. I loved that you rected to Pau the drummer from The Warning, but it was not an official video, just a cell phone streaming test of her learning skills. And yes she's a wonderful singer, and is the most prolific songwriter in The Warning. But DANY, Pau's big sister (Well, everybody is bigger than Pau, she's like 4'11.9"), is the group's actual lead singer, and cites LZZY HALE as her idol.
Lzzy and the boys are incredible live and she sounds better every time I see them. If I remember correctly the “echo” in the bridge is sung by her brother, Arejay, live. I just love this group.
She's even better live. I saw them when they were coming home from their first big tour, I live in the same town she grew up in. They played at this hole in the wall bar that could fit maybe a few hundred. First thing she did was belt out one of those insane screams, and then went right into I Get Off, their big song at the time. Her dad was there too, I talked to him for a bit after the show. He was an old school rock/metal fan and you could tell he was incredibly proud of his kids (the drummer is Lzzy's brother).
Saw them live and Halestorm was outstanding. Best female hard rock singer out there. Dany of The Warning is also one the best in my opinion. Pretty Reckless also.
I have seen Halestorm about 6 times since discovering them in 2013, Lzzy's voice is amazing live, whether she is singing the rock songs or softer ballads. As a 61 year old she is my favourite female vocalist.
She's a total vocal nerd herself, so that explains a lot. Make sure to check her live duet with Amy Lee, it is so clear and you can her many more layers.
Just my opinion try SHATTER ME WITH LINDSEY STERLING 3 instruments and a lesson on commitment to a song by LIZZY HALE. It's JAW DROPPING IMO Great reaction as always.
This just hits from the start with the angry but perfectly pitched screams. You buy the emotions right off, and it just deepens: She's angry at herself for getting and still being attached to someone who drives her nuts. Identifying what she really misses - her desire for self punishment - is a breakthrough. "Ive been a mess since you stayed... I've been a wreck since you've changed...I miss the lies and the pain." Is there any better summary of a codependent relationship where one won't let the other improve themselves or change at all? The lyrics here are really profound and I'd love a clinical psychologist to take em on. All hail Queen Lzzy. Best voice of the 2000s.
Halestorm put on an awesome live show, seen them a couple times. This song is from their 2012 2nd album, The Strange Case of..., the lead single from that record, Love Bites (So Do I) , won a Grammy. To hear a newer song, try Back From the Dead, the lead single and title track from the 2021 5th album.
In my old-man brain, Lizzy Hale and Amy Lee are carrying the torch lit by Pat Benatar and Nancy Wilson. Very big shoes to fill but they're doing themselves proud. I love all 4 of these women.
Lzzy is a HUGE fan of The Warning. Took them on tour with her last year. She bought a guitar for Dany (lead singer and guitarist for The Warning) and gave it to her on stage during one of the venues during the tour.
Lzzy haas a fantastic voice. You listened to the HU band the other week and now you have listened to Halestorm so How about "Song of Women" by The HU and Lzzy Hale Thanks for your reactions
Ive only had the privilege of seeing Halestorm play live once , but Lzzy's vocals are absolutely amazing as are the rest of the band, if you havnt seenbthem yet, you absolutely 💯 % need to see them play! You will not be disappointed ❤
I've seen Halestorm 5 times live. They never disappoint. Further recommendations for you: 'I am the Fire', 'Love Bites(So Do I)', and for something a bit slower 'Heres to Us'. Lzzy and Amy Lee doing 'Break In'. Fantastic harmony blending. Lzzy and Lindsey Sterling doing 'Shatter Me' at SiriusXM. Amazing!
Ahh, I'm loving your explanations 🥰 I feel like I'm in vocal class again. This is one of my favorites. She's really putting emotion into the performance which I feel like makes a more staccato type performance. And she's amazing with breath control! 💖🦋
I am new to the channel so this is a bit behind, but I have seen Halestorm live 5 times now and they never disappoint. In fact I am seeing them again next month with Volbeat and I am very excited. Lzzy Hale and the whole band do an amazing job.
Had the pleasure to meet Halestorm at their 2013 show in Dewey Beach, DE. Nicest people you can meet, and one hell of a performance. Lzzy is right up there with my love of Anne Wilson and Karen Carpenter as favorite female vocalist. If you haven’t seen it, check out their ‘Fergielisciuos’ before they were stars performance on the Jay Leno Jaywalking show from around 2011. It’s on YT.
Lzzy is freaking awesome, her voice is so perfect for her niche and she has incredible control. I love her performance of Break In with Amy Lee (of Evanescence)! They have such different styles but complement each other soooo well, you should totally check that out
Lzzy and the band, when they're NOT touring are now based in TN, so maybe you'll get a chance to see them live in local venues around Nashville ? They tour a LOT so be sure to get plugged into local circuit so you'll know ahead of time "they're in town" if you want to see them, or if on tour you can meet them via a VIP ticket....
Halestorm is one of my all time favorite bands, and i stumbled upon them. I went to the Viper Room on Hollywood to see a different band, and was like 30 minutes early, so i caught the last song from the band before which was Halestorm. I fell in love and bought the LP they were selling which only had 4 songs on it; and i listened to it every day.
Checkout this song, Miss the Misery, live from Auckland 2017. Lzzy starts that one out with a 25 second high-pitched belt. Another good one is Eric Church's song That's Damn Rock N Roll from the CMA awards, with Lzzy singing backup.
Loved their old stuff. Not quite so keen on their newer albums, but no doubting that Lzzy is a great singer. Break In with Amy Lee is really good, and I think my favourite of their's is stil Familiar Taste of Poison. The one on Jimmy Fallon in 2010 was amazing.
Lzzy is also very open about the vocal exercises she does to maintain her voice and openly receives questions and provides feedback for other aspiring singers.
Thanks for that interesting breakdown! I hope you did after this go and watch a live concert recording of this song. First time I saw one, my jaw was on the floor. Lzzy has incredible vocal skills.
It would be interesting if you react to Halestorm again if you would cover the differences, if any, in the dynamics between male and female singers who incorporate the fry scream and/or distortion in their repertoire.
The look on your face when she started singing was priceless! Lol 😂 Your sister has excellent taste in music. Welcome to the I love Halestorm club! Other commenters said she is a good or better live aren't wrong. I've seen them about a dozen times and always think they couldn't get any better. They prove me wrong everything- it's unbelievable! Also, have met them several times, nicest people ever!
Been following Halestorm since their debut album, Lzzy has certainly progressed as singer and song writer as she aged. She has one the most powerful rock voices out there. The only thing is "lacking" is her ability to sing with emotion in her power ballads. (I got spoiled from Amy Lee) Saw them open for Evanescence back in 2012 and then as the headliner a few years back with Alice Cooper. She is amazing live and has a great stage presence. She is very sexy without having to be provocative. She followed some great advice and I think she some vocal training too from the late great Ronnie James Dio " is that "you always appreciate your fans. " You know she was going to be a star when she played the Keytar in her early years.
I honestly think Lzzy and Floor share that weakness, at least compared to Sharon den Adel, Eivor and Chiara Tricarico. Who to be fair are specialists in ballads and stick to soprano cleans. Charlotte Wessels has a good balance of the two domains, as does Annette Giersbergen and yes Anette Olson & Tarja Turanen.
I’ve been a huge fan of Lzzy for years now. This video was so fun to watch. The reaction of almost disbelief at how great her voice is had me cracking up because I feel it often.

“Break In” with Lzzy Hale & Amy Lee & “Shatter Me” from Lindsy Sterling feat. Lzzy Hale
Great video! You must see Familiar taste of poison, from Halestorm live at Jimmy Fallon.
The live studio of Love Bites (So Do I) is amazing and makes for a great reaction also
Her song, Break In, with Amy Lee is pretty amazing, too. Speaking of vocal colors and articulation...
Just my opinion try SHATTER ME WITH LINDSEY STERLING 3 instruments and a lesson on commitment to a song by LIZZY HALE.
It's JAW DROPPING IMO
Great reaction as always.
I love this first reaction to them! Please do more from Halestorm Please 🙏🏼 ❤
She is such an amazing vocalist … love break in, familiar taste of poisson, Here to us …. so may good songs 💜💜💜💜
Lzzy live is pure power. Was definitely a show worth seeing.
I absolutely LOVE just watching her as she listens..the reactions are SO perfect
Lzzy is a HUGE fan of The Warning. Took them on tour with her last year. She bought a guitar for Dany (lead singer and guitarist for The Warning) and gave it to her on stage during one of the venues during the tour.
you will not be disappointed by checking out Halestorm live. They are the real deal.
such a powerful vocal!!
love from philippines
"Break in" showcases Lzzy amazing talent along with one of the most spectacular duets in history with Amy Lee!!!!!
Lzzy haas a fantastic voice. You listened to the HU band the other week and now you have listened to Halestorm so How about "Song of Women" by The HU and Lzzy Hale Thanks for your reactions
lzzy is a mix of the vocal chords of an angel and the lungs of a banshee , she can WAIL , ... and then sooth your soul ;)
I love Halestorm! Great song and great reaction!
My dad is a country boy and he mostly listens to old country but even he will jam out to haelstorm from time to time
That soft pause at 9:26 gives you a moment before they kick you in the face! Damn I love this band.
Kick in the face? Where'd I get that?
Amazing!
The Live Room Version of "Love Bites" is better for evaluation purposes because you can clearly see and hear what she's doing.
I have seen them twice & she sounds just as good live!
Ly Hale and Amy Lee are 2 legendary rock Front Women
Had the pleasure to meet Halestorm at their 2013 show in Dewey Beach, DE. Nicest people you can meet, and one hell of a performance. Lzzy is right up there with my love of Anne Wilson and Karen Carpenter as favorite female vocalist. If you haven’t seen it, check out their ‘Fergielisciuos’ before they were stars performance on the Jay Leno Jaywalking show from around 2011. It’s on YT.
You should check out her song Break In with guest Amy Lee, the studio version. Killer!
Lzzy is freaking awesome, her voice is so perfect for her niche and she has incredible control. I love her performance of Break In with Amy Lee (of Evanescence)! They have such different styles but complement each other soooo well, you should totally check that out
This is exactly how one should react to Halestorm. 😊
I am hopelessly in love with Lizzy Hale.
I love Lzzy's rockin' vocals!
Lzzy is a force of nature!
She is a badass need more of this band keep rocking
Thanks for that interesting breakdown! I hope you did after this go and watch a live concert recording of this song. First time I saw one, my jaw was on the floor. Lzzy has incredible vocal skills.
Welcome to the world of Lzzy Hale - she's amazing
I saw them and Evenesence, and the band , Plush, in Seattle, 2 years ago, what a great show. If u can go see a live show, go go go.
Lzzy Hale is an amazing vocalist. I've seen Halestorm half a dozen times since the early 2000's and she just gets better everytime
If you are enjoying Lzzy’s voice you should check out Halestorm ft Amy Lee Break in. It’s an amazing collaboration
This song live at download fest 2019 is amazing!!
Live versions of this song are amazing 😍
It would be interesting if you react to Halestorm again if you would cover the differences, if any, in the dynamics between male and female singers who incorporate the fry scream and/or distortion in their repertoire.
The look on your face when she started singing was priceless! Lol 😂 Your sister has excellent taste in music.
Welcome to the I love Halestorm club! Other commenters said she is a good or better live aren't wrong. I've seen them about a dozen times and always think they couldn't get any better. They prove me wrong everything- it's unbelievable!
Also, have met them several times, nicest people ever!
First time I've heard this band. If only I lived in or near Auckland with them there at the end of this month.
Absolutely love Lzzy Hale
Charlotte Wessels has a good balance of the two domains, as does Annette Giersbergen and yes Anette Olson & Tarja Turanen.
incredible band live
The Hu. Song of Women is absolutely stellar.
I’ve been a huge fan of Lzzy for years now. This video was so fun to watch. The reaction of almost disbelief at how great her voice is had me cracking up because I feel it often.
If you love her voice PLEASE listen to the end of their song ‘I Like It Heavy’. I cant tell you how many times I’ve played that over and over loudly in my car because her voice is so beautiful.
