Congratulations on graduating college, and all the success you have on your RUclips. I can write the book on excuses on why I didn't start a RUclips channel. Best of luck in the future for you and your channel!
Thank you! ☺ We will always be able to come up with excuses as to why we shouldn't take a risk. At the end of the day we have to make the decision to choose action > excuses!
Wow, thank you for this kind comment. And yes, I truly think that perfectionism is one of the biggest mental blocks keeping people from achieving their goals! Maybe I should be doing an entire video about it...
@@reesemadeleinefit I won’t do a shameless plug of my channel (this is my browsing account) but I’ve talked about it and you DEFINITELY should. It’s so relatable and “unspoken”.
This is so inspiring! Thanks for sharing. I’ve been wrestling with the thought of starting my own channel and have been engulfed in self doubt in terms of what I can really contribute while being authentic. Thanks for the motivation❤
Hi! This video is so relatable as a content creator. I’m 10 months in and still pushing to keep going and not be so hard on myself. Thank you for sharing!!!!
“I can do hard things.” I love that. Your video popped up on my timeline and I’m glad I clicked on it. I also just started and I only have 3 videos so far, but I agree, it’s been so fulfilling to get back in touch with my creativity. Congratulations on graduating!
Hi Lola! That is one of my favorite affirmations, so I'm glad you liked it:) Good luck creating, I can't wait to see what you do! And thank you for the congratulations 🩷
Thank you for this video. I am such a perfectionist also, I recorded a couple of videos, but I don't like my English and for me is so hard to listen to them🤨
I'm so glad you found it helpful! I think one thing we have to try to keep in mind is that we are often our own harshest critics. You may not like how you sound, but you never know what other people will think!
This is truly inspiring-thank you for sharing! After procrastinating for over five years, I finally launched my own RUclips channel two months ago. Now, I'm just a few subscribers away from getting it monetized. It's amazing how quickly life can turn around when you believe in yourself!
I’m at 55 subs but I am seeing consistent growth with every post! I’ve been wanting to do videos since high school and I graduated in 2014. Better late than never! I’m so grateful I can do it now with confidence and grace
Loved this video and your transparency! I was posting consistently for a while but then a ton of things came up and I just didn't have time to dedicate to it. This makes me realize I need to manage my time better and start posting consistently again!
Congrats for starting and being consistent. Two of the hardest things, especially for perfectionists like we both are. It’s finally time for me to start creating more and publishing for the world to see. Thanks for your insight and experience!
I have a lot of followers on IG but here i’m completely new 😅 started posting recently and i enjoy it so much! For now i’m just sharing shorts but maybe later i will push some long form content too🥰 Thanks for sharing your story with us 🙏🏻💕
Thanks girl!! I also was putting a lot of energy into my IG (not that I have many followers) but I truly enjoy long-form content so much more. I can't wait to see what you create!
So excited for you and for how REAL you are. Most of all, I’m excited to see that it’s brought so much awareness to your POWER! ( That which makes you uniquely YOU) and that you’re living your BEST life, unapologetically. Keep going, keep growing!! ❤🎉❤
Thank you so much for making this video! Every point you touched on I think is super important for aspiring creators as well as creators who have been in this space for awhile. As someone who has started and is currently managing four different channels. I would take your advice over and over because no matter the channel or topic your advice to keep trying and to just keep showing up is THE key to being successful on RUclips.
Shorts ruined 2 of my other channels and I posted over a hundred on each. Shorts are not long content friendly. Im not the only one that feels that way. I have a lot on this channel as well and most of them didn’t do well at all. It took a long time just for a most of them to get 1 view. I took time off of building this channel to focus more on the one that got monetized first. RUclips was treating this channel poorly since I started it last year. Im hoping that will change now that Im only posting long content weekly.
It depends on the type of the channel ,person , perspective and personal beliefs - for some people shorts work great for others not- if you believe they help you they will, if you don't, they won't
@@cristinacranganu 😂 i get what you are saying, but the whole believing or not believing is a complete cliché to say the least. Because in the beginning my hope and attitude was extremely high and in the right place for the strategy that was being promoted on how to succeed with shorts, until hit video 90 and realized something strange was going on. I compiled a long list of channels that all stared within the last 2 years that all mostly had under 50 videos and they all seemed to have reached over 100k followers...mind you they are all the exact same type of channel, stolen content with voiceovers. There is something deeper going on on this site and no one is talking able it.
@@cristinacranganu all in all, from me testing out different shorts strategies on 5 different channels, some also including long vids, it only hurt my longer video views and or the shorts didn't perform at all. But lets be clear, most of the behind the scenes is ran and picked by humans, not robots like they would like for you to believe. So I get it.
Great video and personal testimonial, Reese. You're taking away excuses many of us allow to hold us back. I've got one channel now, but I had plans to start another for a while. Then, I had a stroke that affected my speech and cognition. 2 years later, I woke up with Bell's Palsy and another speech and facial setback (which is really unfortunate when I already have a face for radio!) But it is what it is. I'll take your advice and approach my first 50 videos for me, my learning curve, conquering my fears, honing my skills, and letting the chips fall where they may. So, thanks for taking the time to make this helpful shot in the arm for strangers like me.
Hi Patrick, thank you so much for sharing your story. I am so inspired by your perseverance despite all of the challenges you have encountered - you should be so proud. Keep it up, I am rooting for you!
Love this. I’ve recently realized that I’m a perfectionist. And I’ve spent so long procrastinating on starting a RUclips channel because I’m scared of failing and feel like there’s no point if I’m not immediately good at it.
Being a perfectionist definitely makes any sort of creative endeavor challenging, but the thing with creating is that there is no "perfect." I am always going to think that a video could be better in some way, but I just have to accept that that is part of creating. We are never going to be amazing at something we are brand-new to, and we are probably going to mess up - but that's how we learn and get better! If I let it stop me from posting, I am only holding myself back from opportunities to learn, grow, and reach my full potential. And the same is true for you! Just go for it, I promise that the more you challenge that part of yourself, the easier it will get 😉
AWESOME video Reese. I've been wanting to start a channel and I think my perfectionism is holding me back so you are speaking to the choir here. Thanks for sharing your experience. I can relate and it's inspiring!
Well done Reese! These are all the things I am trying to get over and grow my channel, the ideas are all written down, it's just making that commitment for me! Wishing you the best!
I started with RUclips Short first. Struggling in 3 months with 3 failed Channel. But, I rose again and BOOM, my 5th Channel got viral with the 3rd vid and still counting. I start the 6th Channel to do affiliate, today. And exciting to learn more. And my Personal Channel will come 2 weeks later. I know the feeling of you Reese. I went the same way, I was broke, and so deep in debt, now I can relieve a little bit, after the hardest day of my life. Things will change in this month. P/s: Wish you all the best luck! ❤
@@mariabloom_ai that's a long way. I feel like eternity. Even now, when i look back, I can't believe I went that far. But it's just a first step, everything is ahead. ❤ P/s : remember, you are just "one video away" keep pushing yourself to the line and you will break it a little by little. Keep uploading, flop - lear from it, success - enjoy it. But do not forget to upload video eachday (you can have a day off though 😂 your body appreciate that🥰) Wish you the best luck❤my fellows RUclipsr

And yes, the video is amazing. I love how you touched almost every point I have in my head about starting my own channel. Thank you for posting. You've got another subscriber.
Wow you're speaking my miiind! From wanting to be an author and interior designer when I was younger, to thinking I'm just not creative anymore, to being a perfectionist... And everything you said throughout was just what I needed to hear. You really are bringing value to people's lives through this! I'm excited to go back and watch old videos and keep up with the new ones 😊🫶🏼
Ah I really love your style, thanks for sharing your experience. It really hit home to me when you started talking about the perfectionism, it led me to realise that I hold that rule for myself that it needs to be perfect and it doesn’t .. I can embrace the imperfection 🎉
Very relatable all the way through. Awesome pacing in your videos, you have done such a good job especially for how long you've been at this. Don't give up, best of luck!

amazing! i’ve recently committed to this myself. there is absolutely no point in holding yourself back caring what other people think. incredible! u got a new sub :)
Thank you Mau, I'm so happy to have you here! And you're absolutely right, why would I hold myself back from going after what I want because of something as silly and small as what other people might think?
Thank you for creating this, Reese. It's appreciated. I'm still trying to figure out a niche, but I do find value in what you say. I've told myself I'm going to create to create. If ONE person finds value from something I share it's better than NO people finding value... so I've done some good. :) God bless!
Hi Ted, I love this perspective! Starting out with the intention of just finding joy in the process of creating is the recipe for sustainability and success on here. I can't wait to see what value you bring to youtube!
You're AWESOME, Reese! This is the first time I've seen you, and I'm really glad I took the time to watch your video, if for no other reason than I have the same "issue" with the perfectionist part!!! I'm stalled, and having a really tough time getting past it.
It's definitely not something you can get over overnight. Continually and consistently challenge that part of yourself, even in small ways, and it will get easier over time!
Great video! In my opinion, videos like this are very important, because they show, how creators (me included) often start: Waiting, experiencing fear, being frustrated, waiting... And then, some creators (like you) START. After my first video, which was a shot in nature, it took me almost 3 more years to really start. ;-)
Thank you! And yes, it definitely is a bit of a rollercoaster to finally get yourself going with it! I'm so glad you decided to get back into it though, it truly is never too late
I have just launched my RUclips channel and honestly am going through everything you described in this video and I feel so much better after watching! I’m so excited to continue and see where this journey takes me. Thank you 🩷
I love this! I started our channel about a year ago but I've niched down and plan to start making a solid effort at this. Thanks for the inspiration :)
Thanks for sharing, Reese! Love "If I set my mind to something, I can do hard things". Anyone new to content creating like me? Don't give up! Continue creating and work towards our goal of quitting 9-5 to focus on our health, family and what makes us happy! All the best! ❤

I was OG YT back in 2008-2014 and then I was heckled about my grey roots. Foolishly, I let people’s nasty comments get into my head. So 10 years after leaving, I’m back! I have about 5 subs but that’s okay with me. Congratulations on your channel. A friend of mine recommended you to me. Subbed!
I'm so proud of you for not letting the haters win! It truly is never too late to start
just became #9 for you! you got this! for me it has been so hard to grow, currently at 44 hoping to reach 1000 by the end of the year but its hard to see so much time and effort being put in but not seeing great results and it makes you want to give up, hoping i dont quit and reach 1000
@@Kaurcreates22 I’m your 45 ❤️❤️❤️ we got this!
@@Kaurcreates22 I will say, first time around it was just a few subs here and there, and then one day it jumped up!
Awesome to see so many new creator gals supporting each other- I've subbed to you all & your videos give me inspiration to restart an old channel I have about Self Confidence Motivation - something I have neglected in myself for too many years! Thank you all, lladies! ❤
Just recently started my RUclips channel, and it made me overcome anxiety or failure of communicating, so I can relate it with you!
I'm so glad you could relate - I feel like there are so many benefits to starting a channel, even if you aren't planning on making a career or financial means out of it
@@reesemadeleinefit thank you!
Thank you sooo much for this uber relatable + inspirational video I'm watching this morning!
Getting ready to take a nap after shift before I polish up my 2nd video for posting, and already falling sooo in love with the process. You are so right about the importance of prioritizing what's important to you 🥺
Hope you're enjoying the heck out of Europe, best wishes to you for your future in RUclips and life at large ✨️
Hi Liz! I'm so excited for you to be starting this journey too!! Best of luck, and I can't wait to see what you create!
You’ve inspired me so much just by making this video. I’m also a perfectionist myself and you speaking out about your own experiences takes a lot of courage. So thank you
This means so much to me - thank you!!
I stopped posting for 2 weeks and now I’m back and strong💪🏼
Soon to reach 60 subs and every time I see that number increase it makes my entire day!
Beautiful, honest and authentic video. Perfectionism is a thing and leads to procrastination or paralysing “freeze”. Big love 🤗
Thank you for watching!
@@reesemadeleinefit thank you!
just became #15 for you and watched your videos to give u some hours!!!! im hoping to get to 1000 by the end of the year without giving up 😭❤
@@Kaurcreates22 Thank you
I resonated with everything you said! Also a recovering perfectionist finding their way back to creativity. I found your page at the perfect time!
This made me so happy to hear ☺let's fight the perfectionism together!
Thank you for this video. I am such a perfectionist also, I recorded a couple of videos, but I don't like my English and for me is so hard to listen to them🤨
I'm so glad you found it helpful! I think one thing we have to try to keep in mind is that we are often our own harshest critics. You may not like how you sound, but you never know what other people will think!
girl, just do it!!! do it! stop questioning it. it will only get better with practice.
@@madamegiuliathank you for the support! Love your channel. Subscribed.
I am so proud of you and happy you took the leap! It is truly never too late 🩷
You have two subscribers dude. What is all this assumption vibes!!!!!!!!!!
@@Razikhanindia Thank goodness we have you as a fact checker! Like anyone cares
@@reesemadeleinefit Hey you again. How the hell can someone know that I'm on a week off. Buaaahahaha
Loved this video and your transparency! I was posting consistently for a while but then a ton of things came up and I just didn't have time to dedicate to it. This makes me realize I need to manage my time better and start posting consistently again!
You got this girl! I can't wait to see what you create 🩷
Great Video. I can agree that within my 3 months of content creating that You tube has done the same for me. I’ve grown as a person so much
Hi Alicia! I'm so glad you could relate 🩷 best of luck with your channel!!
Wait.. how come YOUR first 50 videos are so good? I’m watching it without skipping or 2x? Love your content. Congrats!!!
Thank you, this is such a high compliment! I appreciate you 🩷
Congrats for starting and being consistent. Two of the hardest things, especially for perfectionists like we both are. It’s finally time for me to start creating more and publishing for the world to see. Thanks for your insight and experience!
I am so glad you found it helpful!! Best of luck on your own journey, you can do this!
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for making this video!
It makes me so happy to hear that you found it helpful ☺️ best of luck to you!!
Love hearing this, just started my channel and cant wait to see where it goes and where I will be in four months time - keep building the dream 🙂
I love that! Best of luck 🩷
What I realized that it's really good for growing the channel is posting shorts consistently ✨️
She doesn't have shorts, she still did good!
Same!!
Just go for it, I promise that the more you challenge that part of yourself, the easier it will get 😉
Start! I just subscribed to encourage you a king the way. Your profile name with “tea” got me! Lol
AWESOME video Reese. I've been wanting to start a channel and I think my perfectionism is holding me back so you are speaking to the choir here. Thanks for sharing your experience. I can relate and it's inspiring!
Hi Jennifer! I'm so happy to hear that you could relate and that my video was inspiring to you. Go start that channel, you can do it!!

Ah I really love your style, thanks for sharing your experience. It really hit home to me when you started talking about the perfectionism, it led me to realise that I hold that rule for myself that it needs to be perfect and it doesn’t .. I can embrace the imperfection 🎉

Thank you for creating this, Reese. It's appreciated. I'm still trying to figure out a niche, but I do find value in what you say.
I've told myself I'm going to create to create. If ONE person finds value from something I share it's better than NO people finding value... so I've done some good. :)
God bless!
Hi Ted, I love this perspective! Starting out with the intention of just finding joy in the process of creating is the recipe for sustainability and success on here. I can't wait to see what value you bring to youtube!
Great video, thank you for sharing. I am currently exploring RUclips and I am pretty excited about learning on the fly :)

Thank you! And yes we really do tend to be our own worst enemies, don't we?
Congrats girl! Your subscribers went up so much since this video! So happy for you!
Will do. Thanks Reese, and have a great day! You're the best!
Thank you 🩷
