    Is the cemetorial gavel what they use when they rule whether someone is dead or not?
    Lawyer Person: "What's the ruling, Judge Guy?"
    Judge Guy: "He's dead!" * pounds cemetorial gavel * "Casket closed. Next case!"

    Cemetorial Gavel: A gavel used to silence the cries of the dead so they may be judged properly.
    War Force One: The president's personal kill squad of fighter jets.

    Allow me to educate Emile (and, by extension, the general public) on the economic and agricultural history of Egypt.
    Ancient Egypt is one of the oldest civilizations in the world, due to the proximity to the birthplace of humanity in Africa, the fertile land, and the strategic economic position.
    Ancient humans would have settled in Egypt quickly after the development of agriculture because the Nile River Valley is one of the most fertile places in the world, owing to the annual floods which create vast areas of arable land. Egypt became the first real regional power, covering an area which stretched from Nubia in the south to Syria in the north.
    Egypt would have, in fact, exported (rather than imported) most of their food to neighboring powers, as is famously documented in the Book of Genesis, when people from surrounding lands come to Egypt during the seven year famine because of the supply of food that the country had built up under the management of Joseph (whether those events took place you must decide for yourself, but we can reason that such an event could have likely occurred).
    Egyptian cotton is very famous and some of the most valuable cotton in the world. Cotton has been grown in Egypt for millennia. Called the "white gold" of Egypt, it accounts for a large amount of the cotton shipped around the world. Most European powers could only get cotton from Egypt until colonization took place and it was grown in other, warmer, areas where it could also grow.
    This concludes my lecture.

    Ancient Egypt was able to grow so much because the Nile flooded such a long way (which it doesn't anymore bc of the Aswan Dam which was built in 1978) and they had basic good agricultural techniques. Modern Egypt is... well, modern and arguably can grow all the good stuff all year round without having to wait for the floodplain to be a floodplain for 6 mths

    Cotton was only introduced to Egypt in the 1820s so it wasn't an Ancient Egypt thing. It really kicked off 40 years after that when the US Civil War meant there was a blockade on cotton coming out of the Southern states so other countries like Egypt and India had to fill the gap.

    I don't normally say these kinds of things, but at about 5:05, I said "Butters" aloud just before Emile did. Don't know why I thought "Butters" since S was already used, but there ya go.
    The tables have turned; Emile knew what the solution to a puzzle was before Tim or Jon. It's also his first time he's expressed disappointment that Jon figured it out before it could get to his turn.
    Trust me Emile, you do NOT want to go to Egypt. Not in this current (or 2015 based on recording dates) climate anyways.
    And that makes two puzzles where Emile has proclaimed that he knows what the solution is before Jon. Practice certainly makes perfect in this case, give or take a handful or two of horrible guesses.

    • @Rexaura888
      @Rexaura888 8 лет назад

      Not that kind of climate. Climate as in the situation going on in and around the area. Egypt isn't the safest (or cleanest) place at the best of times (a man with as little worldly experience as Emile will find his load lightened by a lot if he's not careful). With all that's been happening in the Middle East, it's not much better.
