I'm thinking of starting on ebay and have been watching alot of videos. It inspired me to start looking for sourcing in my area. I'm running into a hurdle i think. There's more to learn but I'm having trouble finding garage sales etc in my area. Fb market is usually asking ebay prices for electronics etc. Thrift and good will is mostly misses.
Found a cpl things i could sell but sell thru isn't over 50%.

Found a brunello cucinelli cashmere four button pullover with a new "The Real Real" tag. Paid 7.99.....didn't realize it had a new tag until I got home. Of course I found 2 small holes.....it sold yesterday morning for 300 within hrs

For the seller that measured the chest wrong, I would just have them keep the item. And cancel the return ( if it's not that expensive an item.) That's what I do if I make a mistake. It's not worth it to me, to pay for the shipping there and return it . I don't want to put my customer through the hassle either, and I don't want negative feedback.
I think this makes sense for smaller stores when feedback is critical. I have enough positive feedback I don’t really make decisions based on feedback. I always have the buyer return because a lot of times they don’t return the item because they either forget or was trying to get a free item.
@@_calebsells Thank you for the response. Yes feedback is critical for me, yet I will stand up, regardless if someone is trying to scam me. I almost stated, if I think they are trying to scam me, or are wrong. It's when they take the time to message me, are genuine and I made the mistake if it's a low amount and even when it wasn't, I chose to let them keep it in some situations. I have fought back , from a scammer or two . Even had Ebay side with them, which was WRONG. I contested it and they reversed their error in my favor.
What is the difference in cubic weight shipping?
cubic is based on size and weight is based on the weight. So if you have a very small package it can ship cheaper.

You can ship at the 8oz rate up to 8.999999oz.
According to USPS website 8 oz rate would be packages up to and equal to 8 oz.
8.9 oz would be 9 oz technically and ship for a 12 oz rate.
@_calebsells You can ship 15.9 oz at 15 oz rate. It's the same at all of the cutoffs. 4.99oz, 8.99oz, 12.99oz and 15.9oz. They just tell you to round up to be safe. I talked to my postmaster about it and shipping 8.9oz at 8oz rate is technically allowed since the price doesn't change until 9oz. If a package weighs 15.6oz for example, you shouldn't round up to 1 lb unless you simply prefer to pay more.

lol, that is completely not true. Once you start getting price adjustments on the backend of transactions, you'll realize how wrong you are.
@jonbeckman4606 You are straight up wrong. 0 to 4.99 oz ships at 4 ounce max rate. 5 to 8.99 oz ships at 8 ounce max rate. 9 to 12.99 oz ships at max 12oz rate. 13 to 15.99 oz ships at 15 ounce rate. They just don't tell you. Never had a price adjustment in 4 years because it's within the actual true pricing parameters.
