  • Welcome back to the the Asheville District! After a busy spring, I've finally found some time to get back to filming and regular videos. Here's a quick clip taken from the project layout with custom layout lighting / ambient sounds and a few Custom NS locomotives departing the siding at Old Fort. More operation, how-to, and layout tour videos to come!

    Absolutely fantastic lighting in this scene, and the ones installed on that Dash-8 model are a cherry on top. This layout is going to be one of those outstanding ones.

    Don't be afraid to add some glossy effects to the ground, somewhere between a satin and gloss...when the temperature and dewpoint are that close together, there is going to be visible moisture on the ground as well. Lighting looks great!

      @nsmodeler24  2 года назад +5

      That's definitely the plan! Hoping to add a high gloss to all of the road and station surfaces, along with building roofs, and multiple puddles / water effects around the layout. Will definitely keep y'all updated as we make progress. - Josh

    Everything is fantastic, especially the modelling and video skills, but the number 1 favorite of mine is the speed the locomotives move feels weighty and real.

    Honestly, these videos are so well done that even before they start, it gets an instant like and thumbs-up. There's only a very small handful of content creators worth that. Love the fog-like setting which has always been my favorite type of shot no matter the medium. Well done once again.

      @@bhproductions1061 Nope. Shows you really appreciate quality content, and that you have a lot of trust in the creator to provide that content.

    Awesome video Josh! It’s impressive to see how far you’ve come along since the very beginning. How were you able to create the early morning fog effects?

    What up Josh!! I thought of you the
    other day when I saw a cool video
    of a NS geometry car, if you get a
    chance go to V12 productions and
    check out his video " The Brick", man
    that kitbash is right up your alley and
    would be awesome on your layout!!!

    Beautiful job! I Like the light haze in the air just like you would find in the smoky mountains. Would be amazing to see the layout in real life in Asheville where you are. Visiting from Elmhurst

    Do you use custom sound files for your engines? The small sound details I notice in real engines don’t always make it to the models, but yours incorporates all of them

    Love the video! That being said, “modern” is a bold description when you’re using a unit that hasn’t been on NS for several years 😅
