This is the first part of a series of videos about the new Pedersoli civil war line rifle muskets. I compare the new Enfield rifle to the last of the Euroarms 2 band Enfield I could find.

Dear Sir,thank you so much for every bit of information you give out on your Channel. This morning I just got an incredible score with my Parker Hale(1stEdition)577Naval model. How did I succeed for the first time in four years, and at a deal of cost ?I followed your directions, and reduced my load from 65grns,to 40grns,and started getting scores such as you get !Keep up the tremendous work !!

The Euroarms bands and sling swivel are correct for the 4th. model, as are the escutcheons for the lock screws. Case hardening of the bands, however, should only be on Army short rifles. The Naval rifle had blued bands. It has always puzzled me, why Parker Hale replicated the 4th. model, which didn’t really see active service. Also the 1858 Naval rifle in lieu of the Army short rifle, which was a more commonly used variant. Of course, the Italian manufacturers copied Parker Hale’s lineup, so their errors have been perpetuated. It’s good to see Pedersoli making a more authentic Enfield.

I bought a Euroarms 1861 Springfield last weekend at a local gun show and I am VERY happy with it. Stole it too {$350}. It was in beautiful condition, just missing the ramrod which I was able to order from Lockwood. Hope to take it too the range as soon as I can pour some Minies. The last owner must have defarbed it, because it is correct as best I can tell. That right there saved me even more money! Pedersoli's are nice, I own a 1861 Enfield Carbine {Musketoon}, and I love it too. There are good ones and bad ones, that is just Italian quality for you: Hit and miss.

I'm from México and I have one Tower rifle from 1862 from the Mexican war versus French I found the rifle in really bad conditions but now I make the reconstruction,
The rifle probably exploded in the war and lost 5 inches of the top of the barrel

If you are just looking for something fun to shoot , the Armi-Sport / Chiappa rifles are just fine. Euroarms was bought out by Pedersoli and no longer exists.
Pedersoli is basically just a "little better fitted" version Chiappa. That said I had a Chiappa 1861 Springfield that was flawless, I was just too impatient 15 years ago to experiment with different Minies and sold it

Love your videos. They have a clean style to them. Would love if you could do a similarly detailed video on the Pendersoli Springfield 1861 and/or the 3-band Enfield.

This is a good comparison. It is pleasing and correct that manufactures like Pedersoli are making replicas as close as possible to the original models. Please let Mr. Pedersoli know that many shooters and hunters would like to see Pedersoli make more Percussion Revolvers like the 1860 Colt to Original specs with Progressive Rifling Big Loading Ports areas(for Conical Bullets) shape and sized, caliber correctly. I hope he would consider stating the manufacture of More Percussion Revolvers.

You’ve got some information wrong on the Euroarms having “fantasy shapes” and barrel bands that are inaccurate. The color case hardening is inaccurate and lack of Cartouche stamp as well, but the rest of the Euroarms stuff follow the fourth models of the Enfield family (produced during the US Civil War but not being sent over as they all went to the British Army). The Euroarms ones are made from the old Parker Hale specs and my Euroarms P1853 Enfield actually has a walnut stock. In reality the Enfield family should have been made with Beech wood iirc.

I did read that the original rifle was fitted with a heavy barrel for naval use with a cutlass bayonet. Also the originals had case hardened bands. Euroarms bought Parker Hale machinery etc so surely they are close to the originals ?
Based on reading not actual handling. All the same you have made excellent videos. Thanks

Two guys on the shooting range shoot a Euroarms Enfield 3-band, while all the points are absolutely true they have excellent accuracy. At 50 meters they both shoot groups the size of a thumb with no cleaning. 10 shots, no fliers, one ragged hole.

Pedersoli bought Euroarms' tooling and dies when they went out of business. Pedersoli simply took the Euroarms Enfields and made a few tweaks.
Euroarms had, in turn, bought the right to make Parker-Hale stamped Enfields and closely copied the P-H but they don't have the progressive depth rifling.
All of them are copies of the Third pattern which few if any saw use in the Civil War

Among few black powder firearms, I happen to own a Euroarms 1861 model Springfield and an original 1861 which was manufactured in 1863. I mustn’t complain and I think quality of my replica is great, but it is still is a far cry from the original: overall quality of stock, barrel and lock on the original is far more superior and the weight of the gun is much less, although the barrel on the original is longer. By the way, if one compare the Euroarms with Armi Sport, get the Euro, it is still far better.

How does the Pedersoli compare to an original Parker Hale made in England in to 60's and 70's. I have a four digit serial number Parker Hale 1858 Rifle. I was looking for a three band Enfield or Springfield 1961 for NSSA.

I recently bought a Pedersoli 3 band Enfield. It was new and cost me $842 tax and shipping. I can vouch for the accuracy. With a 500gr minie or a round ball I was amazed. It makes one large hole in the paper. My scoped Mossberg 146Ba can't do that. When Pedersoli says it's a match barrel they ain't kidding.

I have both rifled muskets. The Euroarms musket is may be not that historicaly accurate but the production qualitiy is much higher than the Pedersoli musket. I bought 3 Pedersoli P58 muskets an not even one of them is worth the price I payed. The issues are from poorly soldered front sight to sharp edges on all edged metal parts. Imagin to have no straight front sight. Oh my gosh! You could easily cut your fingers on that sharp edges. The quality of the stock wood is okay, but the finish of the stock shape is shitting poor. The cut outs are so bad. Next issue ist the ramrod. Its nearly impossible to pull him out of the stock an shove him back. The hole which is in the stock makes a curve and the ramrod get a tensionally bent. Really horrible. I payed over 1000€ for one rifle. For that price you could find a Parker Hale. Go with that or by rifles from Euroarms, Armi Sport etc.
