I had no problems with breaking in my Urban Shepard boots. I wore them walking all over on vacation last Summer and they are very comfortable. Unusual looking in a good way.
One other element of value is that they use cork for shock absorption, instead of poron which will wear out much sooner. I think the cork takes a bit longer to break in but it lasts longer than the poron. You are likely the only one that will see the blocky toe, as when you’re walking no one will ever notice. They look good to me and I really like the color and the red stitching....
Thanks for the review. I've just ordered the original boot. Price 155 Euros, pretty damn good. As for sizing I got the Scout boot in black size 10.5 or EU 45 my normal size. The left boot perfect the right boot pressed on the outside upper of the big toe, so I had it stretched and now it's fine. Most people have different sized feet so with this in mind I ordered the original in 46 EU size. Let's see how they fit. Oh and by the way the scout has a very high toe box where as the original looks flatter so probably wise to size up. Review was cool helps to make the right purchase.

Finally been waiting on this review forever. I recently got the same pair, upset with urban shepherd at the moment though as 2 eyelets popped out on the first wear. Working with urban shepherd to get it fixed. Also have their country boot which I love.

I ordered a pair (Country Natural) after watching and before ordering I emailed them and they said to go true to size so I went with a 12 (I'm normally a 12 in Red Wings and an 11 in an Alden Indy for comparison). The boots came today (super fast shipping) and they look great. The fit and finish by far exceed the price point but the fit is definitely on the small side. I'm gonna have to send them back for a 13 and see how that goes.

With the exception of my Beckett Simonon Dowlers, which are made with Argentinian pullup leather, all my other boots are Chromexcel. A couple of impressions: First off, they are on sale for $185 and the $50 off promo code in the video knocks them down to an incredible $135!!! A Smokin Hot deal. Secondly, I like the look of the boot. Totally different from anything I have. The natural waxed leather looks great with the red stitching. The included red laces really make the stitching pop!! I like the last. The blocky toe is so different. The quality seems good. I didn’t see anything that alarmed me. No hot spots today except at the ankle. Nick, they emailed me when I placed my online order to tell me their sizing had changed and to confirm what size I actually wanted. I called and talked to Krystal and she was great to talk to. She confirmed that the sizing was now TTS so I changed my order to my true Brannock size and that’s what they sent me.
Seeing someone deliberately fire aging their boots really made me laugh, Working in the country, Our boots soon looked like that after stomping bonfires and burning stubble out, as well as running across burning grass and pushing logs down in the wood fire when the flames were too high to use our hands. Those boots would need leather soles that did not melt instantly and leather laces if hey were being worn around fire. His jeans also amused me, because we cuffed ours the same way, to leave no edges to catch alight and the 3 thicknesses of denim that did not burn. I posted a video a few years ago, to show one of my friends how to put a fire out with his boots. You can see what happened when I did not bother to cuff my frayed old jeans. LOL. After much deliberation, I went with the Chelsea boots in the natural color. $135 to my doorstep thanks to your epic discount code and good timing on their price on that particular size and style. Seems like their pricing is constantly in flux, but if one gets lucky like I did these are an INSANE value. The pair I received are really top-notch. The leather, the qc, just the design in general...all are sooo far above the price point imho. The break-in has been significant to be honest, but I've experienced worse and the pain was brief before they became comfy. If the discount winds continue to be favorable, I'm prob gonna pick up a pair of the originals from your review as well asap. These are every bit as quality and nice to wear/look at as any of the Red Wings, Viberg, R.M. Williams I own. Also, I found mine to be *pretty* true to size (Still run a tad small, but close). I know this video was a while ago but I have the Urban Shepard scout and country boots. I’ve noticed on one boot in each pair it looks like the leather welt was very carefully spliced so that they could use scraps to make the welt. My scout boot looks as though they used three pieces of leather spliced to make the welt. Just wondering if you noticed this on your boots.

These boots are very uninspiring. If you don’t know the story they sell to hype them up they could be any welted boot.
