That's incredible how much your charisma and strong friendship between you is felt in the videos. It's amazing how similar our (mine, and yours) sense of humor despite the distance of half a planet and a completely different mentality!
Seeing this for the first time, I'll add mine. My first is a pocketknife: Knifecenter exclusive Kizer Gemini with push-button lock and CPM-4V steel. Everyday carry friendly, 4V steel tough. Second: Bark River JX6 Companion in CPM-Magnacut steel. Ulu-inspired blade (a nod to my Eskimo heritage) and incredible steel. Third: Busse ASH. Runner up for the Busse would be my Terävä Skrama 240 with carbon 80CrV2 steel.

@JOSEF BORG lol Actually...That's the only knife that you can bring on the plane, because as soon as you pull it out, everybody will start screaming and running away from you! The pilot would be already in the cockpit, so he would never know, that you left alone! Great idea there mate!! lol
I don’t know why but I’m getting a Sherlock Holmes type vibe from the music choice. I’d go Benchmade Puukko, SAK Huntsman, and Cold Steel Recon Scout as my three.
Only detail I don't like on the Aori, is the belly where the fingers rest while you hold the knife. it gets too tall in the middle, Same goes for the Terava! I like more simple ergos. Other than that, great knife picks!!
My 3 based on what I do most: 1. Mora Robust. It’s inexpensive and reliable. I have it hanging on my bench in the garage. I can also use it camping or fishing. So it would serve multiple roles. And it can be easily replaced. 2. EDC. This was a hard one, but I was also thinking multiple roles. It would be the Civivi Praxis. It is a good slicer and it has a nice belly on it. I could clean a rabbit with no problem with this knife. With the 9cr18 blade being comparable to D2 but also being more resistant to rust, I could easily use this for fishing salt or fresh water. It would have no problem cutting bait or lines. And with the slicey blade it would work for food prep as well. Again, the price makes it easy to replace. Plus, it just looks nice. 3. Becker BK2: This would be the camp work horse for obvious reasons.
You guys are sooooo great! May your friendship last forever. 🙌🏻 I enjoy your videos since a few years now. Such a great entertainment and I don‘t have to pay for it! 😀 Priceless! Ahh, btw. the information you are giving us is also very interesting sometimes. 😂 My top-three knives: TRC Apocalypse, Lamnia Edition Spyderco Paramilitary 2, S110V Morakniv Companion I only choose fixed knives because this is what this channel is about. Funny video! If I could only have three knives I would have to include my Spyderco Delica in HAP40 just because I use a folder in my pocket more than all the rest of my knives combined. I'm a chef though so I'm not including my work knives- no way I would be able to do my job without my case full of Japanese gyutos!
Only 3 knives included discontinued ☺️ - Small EDC Spyderco Lil’Nilakka RWL34 - Main EDC Buck TNT Mayo titanium framelock S30v Paul Bos heat treated (near M390 results) - Fixed blade BRK Gunny 3v scandivex
Maarten for sure made better choices. My choice: Pocket tool SAK Farmer. Small camp knife Enzo/Brisa Elver with G10 handle scales, 12C27 steel for food prep and small wood work. My Tramontina wooden handle 12" blade machete with canvas (Ontario) sheath for bigger work.
100% mee eens over de bugout. Heb dezelfde als jij. en een met blauw handvat waar ik sinds kort flytanium titanium scales op heb gedaan. Alles wat je ooit maar nodig hebt voor edc
Three knives that I currently own? Pinewood Forge sloyd. Bark River Utility Caper in Elmax. Bark River Puukko in 3V. (I'd use my Svante Djarv small Viking axe for all the "big knife" stuff).
Do multitools count? If so then 1) My Leatherman Blast for the utility the tool has, 2) Victorinox Spartan SAK for everyday pocket carry, 3) A fixed blade I made and heat treated myself with an 8cm blade in O1 tool steel for the kitchen. It gets crazy sharp and does great in the kitchen. It's a brilliant tool for breaking down whole chickens into different pieces and in use seems bigger than what it really is If no multitools, then 1) My Kaliber Kurippu with the flipper cut off (I don't like flippers) for EDC, 2) the same homemade fixed blade mentioned above for kitchen work, 3) My cut down 16 inch Tramontina machete for bush work I used to fly a lot for work and stayed away from home for weeks at a time and knew that if my check in baggage was stolen, I couldn't cry over what would be lost, so I packed a Leatherman Wingman as a work knife, which saw the most use, a Victorinox Spartan SAK for SAK duties, which barely got used but the tweezers and cork screw has come in handy a few times, and an Opinel No. 9 stainless for kitchen work in the many, many places that I have stayed at for work. Sometimes I wish I could whittle my collection down to just a few knives, but that's not realistic for knife enthusiasts
I am on a tight budget so mine are a bit less special: Lionsteel m4 for medium bushcraft work, coldsteel leatherneck for bigger tasks. Victorinox as EDC since i can use it for screws, beer and much more
Lionsteel M4 is amazing. Lovely practical design, great handle good materials and 390steel works superb. For only 150 euro's. I have been using it for two months now...very satisfied....and also a beautifull leather sheeth. So the lion steel is definately not less special. It is outstanding. It is my edc
@@rogierdalsemvan8204 when I saw Lionsteel m4 few years ago I knew that it is my perfect knife and I wanted it ever since. I could not afford it for 150, but I had luck few weeks ago and found it new for 90 euro. And when I have it now in my hand it is even better than imagined. It is really my perfect knife. Im glad to hear that you have good experience with it.
@@rogierdalsemvan8204 Lionsteel M4 as most knives with v edge, needs a bit of convexing to remove that v edge. Also you have to raise that bevel, because it's not only too thick behind the edge, it also has too thick edge bevel angle . I admit it has the best handle ergos out there!! Armatus makes some great kydex sheaths for it! Best general use knife, at that size. Pair it with an axe and a Bahco saw and you 're golden!!
@@Xallov Micarta Lionsteel M4, is the best version. It has the best balance and weight of them all and last time i Checked the Knives and tools, they had it for 130 euros, which is a great value for what you get. It's handle ergos are from another planet (especially the micarta)!!! Enjoy
My three knives are those that I have. * A Terävä Jääkäripuukko 140, Carbon Steel. * An Opinel Nbr 8 Stainless .. EDC. * A Swiss Army Knife (Model ?) bought back in 1968 .. I have others but this is my favourite .. got it during my National Military Service. Others with great sentimental value include a Solingen Bowie bought back in the early 70's, a Kershaw Outlaw Bill Folder from the 80's, an Okapi Folder in Carbon Steel (bought 1972 in South Africa at the local Mine Concession Store on the Gold Mine that I worked on .. used (and abused) mainly Underground .. a real work horse).
My Terävä Skrama 240, Carbon for chopping and stuff (the obvious choice), my Terävä Jääkäripuukko 140, Carbon for carving and woodling work, and for EDC, I have to go with my Civivi Odium, as my Steel Will Cutjack C22 is to large for legal carry in Denmark. I would prefer the Cutjack since it is the perfect pocket knife; super slim/flat but still holds amazing ergonomics and the blade is basically a small kitchen knife, capable at anything you throw at it.
I been using the s1 pro with a victornox hunter series. After edcing for 2 years now. Im thinking is just a little heavy and has limitations as for everyday task. The main reason i chose the s1 pro is because its the best batoner for its size. It holds a edge massively well. But i guess i really want to try out the legendary feel of the bark river aurora. Just because of the handle the size and the weight saving. So im open to it especially if you carry a pistol. Saving weight is a must. Especially if your b.o.b weighs 35lbs already.
My top 3 knives I would keep are an original Becker Knife and Tool BK-7 (not the new Ka-bar version). A Fallkniven A1, and a Bark River Tundra (a knife that seems to me a cross between an Aurora and a Canadian). And I do have a Bugout for an edc.
We use a very large knife (100cm.) On one end it is attached to a thick wooden beam with an iron ring. The other end, that has a perpendicular handle, can be pulled up and down, forward and backwards. Imagine the force the can be pressed on a piece of wood which is put between the beam and the part of the blade close to the ring. That is how wooden shoes are shaved into form. For the inside we use specially trained woodworms.
I only have 4 knives. 1) Bark River Bravo 1.25 LT in CPM 3V 2) Fallkniven F1X 3) Morakniv Garberg Carbon 4) Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in CPM S35VN with black blade coating (folder) Pretty happy with them. If I get more in the future, the next on my list would be a smaller Bark River, and/or a folder from Benchmade. All of the fixed blades I have were inspired by the useful information in DBK videos. Keep up the good work! Would love to see more steel performance comparisons, especially for folders.

I have not seen the video, but here are the 3-choices I predict MickieB and the other one will choose. The Other one: 1. Bark River Auroa in 3v. Small knife for Bushcrafting. 2. Falkniven Modern Bowie. Big knife for batoning. 3. Leuku. Mid-size do everything knife. MickieB: 1. Bark River Gunny Scandi in 3v. Small knife for Bushcrafting. 2. Scramma Big knife for batoning. 3. Falkniven A1X. Mid-size do everything knife. Now, let's see how I did. AFTER the video. MickieB can't part with his $1600 knife and yet he's already lost it! I got 2 of the Other one's picks Auroa and the Leuku. But he threw us a curve with a pocket knife. He chose the wrong big knife rather than the Modern Bowie. MickieB, my boy, I got only one right the Gunny Scandi. In the end he switched to the Modern Bowie, that I chose for the Other One. and his $1600 knife that he can't find rather than the Falkniven A1x. My three knives: Cold Steel Master Hunter. Hunting, skinning, butchering knife. The synthetic nippled handle is so easy to hold when your hands are covered in blood and guts. A great hunting knife designed by someone who has actually killed a deer. The Enzo Trapper in Elmaz steel Bushcrafting knife, for the money it is the best knife out there. CRK Machete. It's a big, heavy knife that can chop wood with its thick curved convex edge, or baton wood. Plus it has a Strong stabbing point up front for killing deer... cause that's how I do it!
I’m late I know, but I’d go with my para 3 in s30v ( though a bugout in m4 Demko ad20.5 in 3v, For hogue deka in magnacut is soon to replace), Spanish cetme 308 bayonet for my chopper/hard use, and since I’ve given my old mora Bushcraft stainless to my son I’m looking for medium sized fixed blade, I’m considering the F1x, bark river bravo 1/1.25, maybe aurora, lion steel b41 or t5, white river ursus 45, bench made leuku or anonimus, or I’ll save some money and go with jaarikapuko in the longer length. Any advise would be appreciated.
Would highly recommend L.T. Wright Knives for y'all to test out. Outstanding quality and designs. I just picked up their Woodland Pro 4.0 and am loving it!!!
Please, please, please test 2 identical Bark River knives, one in Cru-Wear, and the other CPM 3V. Do 5 feathersticks, ferro rod fire test, then rope cutting until it doesn't cut paper. I think testing in this order would give everyone a good idea of which steel would be best for their necessity. I spend 5-6 days at a time backpacking, and this would simulate real use. You guys rock!
@@benjamincarter6095what are you on about? cpm3v is substantially tougher than cruwear. both are easy to sharpen up. it’s literally just do you want edge retention with cruwear or pure toughness with 3v
CoS hands down, then 3g. VG10 is not ideal for such thin grinds they have on their very edges. Actually, they should have used, something like Vanadis 4E or at least CPM154. AEB - L would be the perfect and the most ideal stainless steel, for Fallkniven knives.

My three knives:
Cold Steel Master Hunter.
"The sheath is a complete leather jacket in itself" 😅😅😅😅

I love the parra 2😍
Please, please, please test 2 identical Bark River knives, one in Cru-Wear, and the other CPM 3V. Do 5 feathersticks, ferro rod fire test, then rope cutting until it doesn't cut paper. I think testing in this order would give everyone a good idea of which steel would be best for their necessity. I spend 5-6 days at a time backpacking, and this would simulate real use.
You guys rock!
If you have to sharpen it while out, cru-wear. If you are likely to use it in a way that might chip it or make it curl over, cru-wear. Otherwise, 3V.
@@benjamincarter6095what are you on about? cpm3v is substantially tougher than cruwear. both are easy to sharpen up. it’s literally just do you want edge retention with cruwear or pure toughness with 3v
Becker BK2 for tough firewood tasks. Benchmade leuko Cpm-3V for medium tasks. Morakniv craftline pro stainless for lighter carving/edc.
Im glad everyone else is as obsessed as I am
The bk7
Mora basic, stainless
Victorinox stainless paring knife
The newer model of Victorinox Paring knife. is the best Paring knife ever created IMO. Great choises there!
I need only one my custom chopper from patrik Carlvik in 8670 at 61 hrc its a beast
Wich steal is the best for the f1: Vg10, 3g or CoS?
CoS hands down, then 3g. VG10 is not ideal for such thin grinds they have on their very edges. Actually, they should have used, something like Vanadis 4E or at least CPM154. AEB - L would be the perfect and the most ideal stainless steel, for Fallkniven knives.
My top 3 is a classic brazilian Tramontina machette, a Mora Companion and a Victorinox Rangergrip 55
Great set up for Jungle enviroment!!
@@greekveteran2715 thanks my friend. This is the usual situation I face over here. With those 3 I solve 95% of my problems.
