Kalani, there was a drum shop in Detroit years ago that I used to get my percussion from and they had a 3 or 4 octave set of Gon Bop Boo Bams‼️ they had a sign on them "do not touch" But the owner allowed me to play them‼️ it was a privilege 🙏🏽
You can take off the lids and play them with paddles and they are louder, like a ping pong paddle with soft thick pad, or make one with mouse pad attached to spatula, ie cover the top of tube's hole all at once when you strike, boop boop.
@WORLDDRUMCLUB perhaps what my friend had was home-made, a matrix of various length pvc tubes that you play by striking the open near end with a flat paddle, sounds like finger popping your mouth, it looks like what you have if you took off the "lids". Thanks for the reply and content. Learning a lot from you.
Wow! Full of vibes👍😊
Amazing stuff so natural, and full of feeling. You cook up some tasty flavours Kalani. 😎

Oh - Sweet! That's like getting to drive a classic car! Glad you got to take it for a spin!
I enjoy your videos Kalani.
I appreciate that!

The BooBam-style tubes are meant to be played as shown. The regular Joia Tubes have removable plastic lids.
