    Hi M Tech Guy. I have just recently viewed all your you tube and has been very helpful.
    I owned a 2004 x5 E53 with my Favorite engine M54.
    The mileage now is 306167 and still going strong.
    I curried out all preventive maintenance and the only expensive replacement was the oil leak via sump. Apart from that most of all mechanical is up to date. Driven it Melbourne , Canberra , Sydney and back to Melbourne without a single problem.
    Cheers.

      Hey man, cheers for the super thanks, I appreciate it! Yeah the M54 is a reliable engine for sure. The sump gasket is a big job on these with the axle going through the sump, I didn’t get around to doing mine before the X5 went. The X5 now has around 280,000 Km’s last time I saw it- still going strong! Thanks for checking out the videos 👍

      Hi M Tech Guy.
      Appreciate your response. Is this means you have part ways with your black x5? The sump is hard to access but my mechanic did the works for me. I can do some of the services similar to your videos. Not certain on how to attach images as I was going to send you my E53. Cheers.

    Great video! I just think that to make sure you got maximum of your old oil out you had to open the oil filling cap before draining the oil. That's recomended to do on most of cars. Not sure why BMW X5 e53 should be different.

    • @korpolentais87
      @korpolentais87 3 года назад +2

      @@MTechGuy 5w40 oil is more viscous and less liquid at higher temperatures. That is, when the piston moves along the walls of the cylinder, the film remains thicker than when 5w30 is used. This is the main difference between 5w30 and 5w40

    • @korpolentais87
