Honestly monetization is the big one for me, I have a lot of friends who are too busy to play an mmo, can't invest properly into gaming but I think would legitimately be interested in the story of XIV. But if its going to cost an arm or a leg to play it/progress they still wont touch it. Also curious on since that scene showed New Minfilia's voice does that mean they're re-voicing ARR with the current voice acting cast and will that move over to the main game as well? I'd love to see that kind of investment into FFXIV as its always super jarring for people transitioning between ARR to Heavensward with the new cast.
I can imagine the combos will be condensed like pvp actions. That's the only way I can see it working. Condensing the GCD combos into 1 button and the oGCDs into another button. Cooldowns for tanks will be other buttons. All important buttons will be separated, and all combos will be condensed
Auto combos might work well as well to reduce hand strain from grinding on a touch screen game. I could see a 1-2-3 combo being automatically done for you while you manually press cooldowns.
What im most interested about with this version is the fact that its very likely an entirely new engine, so they got another studio to completely remake the game
They’re probably going with the gambit approach for combat. You define different presets and then let the character auto battle while you still can move around. I suppose just like ff12

The mobile market is successful because it grants very easy instant gratification. I do not think 14 fits this model at all, especially with arr. I think if they don't adjust the pacing of the story this will be a dud.
"A lot of the planet does." Yeah. I really hope there's a lot more localisations. I have friends I play games on mobile with from pretty much all of SEA, South America, and Africa. I'd love to see some of the big hitters from those countries (Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Indonesia, and for the love of god any kind of Spanish speaking country) get some localisations for this project. Billions of potential users there. FFXIV could literally become the global gaming phenomenon if they took the opportunity here to localise more. Voice acting not necessary if it's too pricey, just get the narrative translated please! D:
🤔🤔They could have auto move options for dungeons were you just have to hit the skill macros Tho if thats the case.. how do they get capitated🤔and is punishment of bad positioning nessesary. They could also add more quicktime events for bosses were you maybe have to click on appearing crystals and you dodge to tye correct position or you get hit by an attack lol😂 Very interesting tho! Been playing this game since 2.1/2.2 and i never throught it would get a mobile version 😂
Just so you know if they go on with if they are using the same content patch cycle as the original ARR content releases are going to be vastly different to what you are used to now lol. In ARR the Hard mode fights were the endgame versions of trials. Extremes did not exist until 2.1. And crafted gear was pretty much for the most part useless.
hmm mobile gaming is pretty big in many countries .so having a game like ffxiv on mobile is awesome but i just hope it dosent become a p2w or gacha game
i have played my fair share of mobile MMOs....my opinion is....mobile gamers will remain mobile gamers, they are usually not likely to game heavily on both platforms. so this game is targeting an untapped market for them.
I been playing FF14 for ten years... but I'm not a fan of mobile games so i will be skipping this, i wish them success.... And Maybe they can make enough money and make a movie anime/live action. That's something i think would be cool
Why the fuck would anyone go that far out of the way to play it like a PC game on a small screen? At that point, sit down at your computer and play, for more than 30 minutes without batteries dying, and being able to actually enjoy the game
Not a mobile gamer, and if i was i doubt my almost 10yo phone would be able to handle it given its starting to freeze when pulling up the keyboard to comment lol.
Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award-winning Stormblood and Heavensward expansions up to level 70 for free with no restrictions on playtime, now on your Android or Iphone?
My questions are, what is the payment going to be like for it? One time purchase, sub, or purchase and sub? Will it tie into your already existing FFXIV sub? Will we be able to play it on PC or console (some people would be interested to have a “vanilla” 2.0 experience)? The thought of playing a game like 14 on a phone makes me immediately disinterested. It’s like being offered a slim Jim when you usually eat a ribeye. I don’t think it will last. I give it 2-3 years after launch before the player counts dwindle down, but who knows right?
You'd be surprised. There r some great looking games that run on basically every phone from the past 5 years and this is a downgraded version of FF graphics-wise.
I was a little bit interested when I thought it would be crossplay so i can use to do my dailies and stuff on the go but it is a seperate thing from just ARR. unless you are a new player what is the point ?
It's the small potential people may miss by thinking of potentially everyday activities, especially with the younger audience. How often are kids, when visiting relatives, are dropped off infront of the TV, DVD player or Tablet to keep themselves busy. When one kid is in the middle of watching a ffxiv cutscene, another kid is going to ask him what he is watching. From which it would be very easy for a 30 minute cutscene to play and have a few kids watching it together to see how it all happens. Easy social interactions between kids do now with like Naruto or One Piece. FFxiv, with it's cutscene based game can easily do what the top anime do when it comes to bonds between friends watching a show together. As a test, maybe Preach could have a cutscene ready for his kids and visit some friends or family with kids and see if what happens in the cutscene catches the eye of the kids. Subtitle reading is a very common thing to do nowadays compared to years before.
I'm just waiting for Yoshi-P to show up in the next FanFest and just say on stage 'Don't you guys have phones?'

But I already have FFXIV on mobile at home. •holds up Steamdeck•
Yoshi P’ s logic : I messed up downtrail so I’m gonna bring ff14 into mobile so I make more sales and get keep my job
Can't wait to watch my phone explode while loading into Limsa.
I feel like the mobile version should just be a stepping stone FOR FFXIV on PC, so keep the version as the ARR version perhaps and just let players be 'excited' to try It out on PC or Playstation If you're a pleb.
But, lets be honest It's for the China market. Sadge.
Now Kitty Pants can save Eorzea while tending to the horses.
I live in NA. Not only am I not the target audience for ARR mobile, but I have zero interest in playing it on a phone.
The mobile market is successful because it grants very easy instant gratification. I do not think 14 fits this model at all, especially with arr. I think if they don't adjust the pacing of the story this will be a dud.
Hopefully the mobile version has a better netcode than the main version.
I fully expect the combat being 1 button auto combo
"A lot of the planet does." Yeah. I really hope there's a lot more localisations. I have friends I play games on mobile with from pretty much all of SEA, South America, and Africa. I'd love to see some of the big hitters from those countries (Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Indonesia, and for the love of god any kind of Spanish speaking country) get some localisations for this project. Billions of potential users there. FFXIV could literally become the global gaming phenomenon if they took the opportunity here to localise more. Voice acting not necessary if it's too pricey, just get the narrative translated please! D:
How can you have an opinion without
1. The gameplay
2. The actial monetization method
This is just high level marketing stuff
🤔🤔They could have auto move options for dungeons were you just have to hit the skill macros
Tho if thats the case.. how do they get capitated🤔and is punishment of bad positioning nessesary.
They could also add more quicktime events for bosses were you maybe have to click on appearing crystals and you dodge to tye correct position or you get hit by an attack lol😂
Very interesting tho!
Been playing this game since 2.1/2.2 and i never throught it would get a mobile version 😂
Not necessarily it's more of a stand alone version of FF14 for the phone.
Okay guys, how about classic but for PC while we're at it?
A Realm Reborn: Reborn
@@Raven-um2wf A Realm Refreshed
Imagine going for the world's first ultimate on mobile
Just so you know if they go on with if they are using the same content patch cycle as the original ARR content releases are going to be vastly different to what you are used to now lol. In ARR the Hard mode fights were the endgame versions of trials. Extremes did not exist until 2.1. And crafted gear was pretty much for the most part useless.
Best case this genshin impact style gameplay, worst case it genshin style monetization
I wonder if this is their way of reworking a realm reborn and port it to pc eventually, since everyone knows its a slog.
The biggest elephant in the room is what's gonna be the monetization structure of the game.
It is curious because so far they confirmed no gacha for the mobile version.
hmm mobile gaming is pretty big in many countries .so having a game like ffxiv on mobile is awesome but i just hope it dosent become a p2w or gacha game
One server many channels please. 😊
Would be interesting. I keep bouncing off of FF14 and I'm not entirely sure why?! 😅
You are looking great btw!
Raiding on mobile sounds like an absolute disaster but should make for some great streams
i have played my fair share of mobile MMOs....my opinion is....mobile gamers will remain mobile gamers, they are usually not likely to game heavily on both platforms. so this game is targeting an untapped market for them.
I been playing FF14 for ten years... but I'm not a fan of mobile games so i will be skipping this, i wish them success.... And Maybe they can make enough money and make a movie anime/live action. That's something i think would be cool
Fact that it's separate from PC basically means I won't play it
No auto / No BP scalling all mmo looks like it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My criteria
STORY
Gameplay
Open world
Class
Type c to hdmi and a controller will be how a lot of people play it
Why the fuck would anyone go that far out of the way to play it like a PC game on a small screen? At that point, sit down at your computer and play, for more than 30 minutes without batteries dying, and being able to actually enjoy the game
Has anyone told Preach that Namazu seems dead? I'm afraid not :(
Look at this fit bloke with hair.
I wonder if we'd have to pay 2 separate subs too.
Starting your kids gaming experience on a phone is just bad parenting.
Is it worth a 12 dollar sub? No i say 4.99-5.99 and add a dollar for a player house sub that your gaurenteed
Semi excited, however i doubt it will be as successful as OSRS simply because of the fact it's not the "real thing".
Do we have a expected release date?
DO YOU GUYS NOT HAVE PHONES? 🤣
so it's just a fully dumbed down version. It simply has to be. There's no escaping it considering the complexity of some fights and jobs.
No way my current phone can even run this unless I pay up like 2k dollars/euros for a new one
Then you get to play for half an hour and your phone's battery is dead.
You'd be surprised. There r some great looking games that run on basically every phone from the past 5 years and this is a downgraded version of FF graphics-wise.
@@Ailwynn I doubt a Samsung Galaxy A71 can run that, but I admire the positive outlook on things.
"biggest mmo" lmao
ARR is a bit too slow for mobile
If it’s free, how do they profit from this?
I was a little bit interested when I thought it would be crossplay so i can use to do my dailies and stuff on the go
but it is a seperate thing from just ARR. unless you are a new player what is the point ?
Beware spending money on this one. SE has a bad habit of shutting down your favorite mobile games they create...
who told you its the biggest? 60M players aint the biggest MMO lol
