I've tried this on classical guitar. I feel like it is the reason why the songs distort in my car. I think that imager does this problem.
Any experience?
The issue will likely be phase cancellation. Very obvious in a car system as L&R are split an directional. This is why the correlation meter is so important.
I don't personally know of other plug ins that help check for phase cancellation so it's really nice to have this in my tool box

Great tutorial. So that small phase correlation that occurred, is it better to rectify that or with it being so small it's insignificant?
That’s where you test in mono. Because honestly nothing may be audible effected. But it’s a signal to check it out.

So when is best to use this, on the whole track?
You can use it as an effect also. But it’s very useful for fixing low end issues in a whole track or adding some nice wide vibes too. When used sparingly

it opens up differently than Imager 8. Only the lowest band is active when the plugin opens. I wish they would leave well enough alone. OR - that I would quickly learn how it works...Thanks for this excellent tutorial...
If I recall correctly in 8 the band splits were linked where as in 9 everything is individual. Perhaps that is why.

For what is "mono compatible? its that useful to listen to a stereo system or a telephone for example?
Some TV’s Phones & Tables sum to mono yes.
Many nightclub systems are also mono, and car systems are split so wide you hear a unbalanced version.
HAve you any idea why I don't see the mono and the reference buttons?

Should the kick/bass be in mono compatible...if yes what other instruments do you think should stay in mono and not widened?
Not always who instruments but lower frequency sounds work best in mono for music of dance genre. You have complete freedom to choose what sounds best, but remember to test how people may play your music. RUclips from a phone with a mono speaker maybe? Situations like this where being mono compatible is powerful, and then you have the clubs and bars that are often actually mono sound systems.
On the flip side. Listen to some classic Hendrix which sounds awesome and all the drums are hard panned left or right.

The imager made my track go -width in every band, it sounds narrower than before but kinda cleaned up.
Does that mean my track was "too wide" before?
if it sounds better over all, then yeah possibly. test in mono is usually the game changer. An the low frequency space tends to be where issues are.
so does it mean I do not want anything in the sides??
Has anyone else had this happen? Ozone 9 Advanced runs fine, authorized and installed properly. But when I try to add Imager to a track in my DAW, it brings up an authorization window. I don't recall getting a separate serial code for Imager, so I tried the Ozone 9 Advanced serial, but it wouldn't work (said it was for another program).

its summed to mono, Ozone is smart and attempts to do this without causing phasing issues as well. But that can be turned off in settings.

Is ozone 9 imager meant for only mastering or can I use it in the mix as well. Also is there any harm in using it in the mix and master at the same time ?
There’s no rules. Just wether or not it sounds good

Is Imager Version 2 different? I don't see the crossover view to isolate certain frequencies.
Im assuming you downloaded the free version which isn't multiband. You would need to splat up the signal with buses and EQ.

Hey, I own the Ozone 9 Elements Edition, which offers me an Equalizer, Imager and Maximizer. My problem now is, that in my Imager, I can not find these bands which you could adjust seperately. The bands which seperate the Low/Mid/High frequencies. Do you think, that I haven't got this feature in the Elements Edition?
I don’t think elements lets you control the image like this.
