  • In this video I discuss what the perfect Avid S4 console configuration is and why I have switched from a 16 fader config to a 8 by 8 fader config. My reasoning behind having the modules in certain places and how it affects workflow positively.

Thanks for the video! We have a few of these in our studios. What screens are those? They fit so nicely in there! We’re having an issue with vertical real estate. We have the display modules, then a 27” screen and then a monitor on the wall…then a center channel somewhere.

Nice setup. Makes a lot of sense. How you liking the Mac Studio. Have similar setup sans the S4. Using an S1 + dock + Mac Studio. After the teething pains with the MacStudio and ProTools, seems to be stable with PT 2022.9. Still love your setup with the 16” monitors.

Does the Trinnov replace the SPQ function of the MTRX Studio? Would love to see a video of how you calibrated the settings on the Trinnov for room correction.

Yes the SPQ is redundant when you add the trinnov. I will be building a new room in September and will be adding a trinnov to there. I will be calibrating the room and will do a video on this. My mixing room is calibrated and once done doesn't get touched. So I won't be doing this room for a while.
