I’d had a sleep paralysis episode. Scariest thing I’ve even went through.
I've had sleep paralysis more times than I can count. I always keep my eyes closed, though so I never see anything creepy.

Haven't listened yet, but I have sleep paralysis. For anyone who also deals with this: it happens often when I'm emotionally upset, so that might be a thing. Leaving a night light on helps, because my demons usually come from the shadows in the dark. Calming your mind down before bed is significantly helpful. Reading philosophy helps me. It calms me and tires me out. Also, if you can, find a talisman. My cat always sleeps next to me, but in my sleep paralysis, he was never there. Super helpful to determine if you're actually still asleep. Best of luck, also over time, you can teach yourself to make some soft of noise that alerts someone else or yourself that there is an issue. That has helped me most, actually.
The night light definitely helps and I like Russian books to distract and calm me before bedtime. For sure avoid heavy spicy food and try the channels with the amazing music.

Sleep paralysis isn't bad, it's just misunderstood. That's where allot of the fear comes from. Understanding sleep paralysis will help you get over the fear.
During sleep your body enters this stage called REM (rapid eye movement) to prevent you from acting out your dreams. This is also why most people report sensations and visuals, it's hallucinations.
My advice: dont panic, research more about sleep paralysis and REM sleep and don't let yourself be superstitious about this. Your beliefs will effect your experience so if you believe it's a demon you're going to get a demon.
You can always escape sleep paralysis by holding your breath or wiggling your fingers and toes. Alternatively you can just go back to sleep or even use it as an opportunity to lucid dream
Semi related - uhhhh so with my hypersomnia I actually dream without being in rem and because i dont get much rem sleep i dont sleep well and my body needs it. So i just stay tired.
But i do dream. Fantastical and terrifying at times. Some have suggested i might be experiencing symptoms of psychosis because of the shit.
All that said, sleep paralysis and cataplexy both plague me semi often and that shit weird

This was the last story you told and oh my God, it freaked me and my friend out. I got cold from the chills I kept getting. Amazing narration and amazing story by Vincent Vena Cava. Now I can finally share what scared me so much. 🖤
Sleep paralysis is no joke, I started getting it after starting an antidepressant called welbutrin, oddly enough lol. Happened a lot the first month or so, but then slowly let up as my body got used to it. The dreams always felt so real. And in them, it was like I started to pass out in the dream, and eventually not being able to move and difficulty breathing. I started to figure out when this happened, it was my form of sleep paralysis.. So I just lay and try to wake myself up.
Only had one instance of auditory hallucinations, like really high wind in my ears. I dared not open my eyes during it, for fear I'd see something 😂 I told myself if THAT kept happening, I'd tell my Dr to switch me. But thank goodness that was only once. And thank goodness I didn't experience any whispering or talking. Ugh
Sorry you experience this, it is indeed no joke, same as sleep apnea, my husband stops breathing when sleeping, there are so many sleeping disorders, my daughter when so young suffered from "Night Terror Syndrome" which is the absolute worst. I hope you sleep well....I know this may sound simplistic but chamomille tea is the best...better than green or night time teas, if I may recommend: Go to an Indian Store, an herbalistic Indian store, they have the most incredible herbs, roots, I kid you not...things God put on the planet that assist in many sleep disorders. I've got amazing Indian friends who have saved me major bucks by not spending my money on Pharmaceutical scamming highway corrupt robbers....I have been healed of bronchial horrid flues and coughs etc...by drinking an Indian tea and a concoction of Cayenne seeds I kid you not and herbs...overnight after 'dying' with this flu for over six weeks I was cured.
Fuck those meds.

I haven’t suffered from this, but I have had loud noises and voices in my head or ears right before I slip off to sleep. The voices are so real! Ugggh, make them stop!

I choked on my coffee and ended up having to wipe down two monitors at the sudden change if tone in your commercial for the plush - I had to rewind and actually watch it (I generally listen while working and rarely glance at the screen😅)

I experience sleep paralysis almost daily, except I don't see anything scary tho, just paranoia, overheating and physical pain.
I've always felt sleep paralysis only occurs when demons are present.

I had an episode of sleep paralysis when I was 11 or 12 and more than 40 years later I still remember it vividly.
I get a firm of sleep paralysis. I can always break through it though. It's weird. Once I fell asleep holding my ipad and it dropped onto my upper legs where my lap would be if I was sitting. I woke up,, realized it was there and went to pick it up and it wouldn't move. I tugged and tugged and something was holding it. I got pissed, flipped off the air above it with both hands, and immediately picked it up with no trouble. No idea what that was all about.
So I've been dealing with SP and lucid dreaming since I was a teenager. Its said that, it's easier to lucid dream(with practice)if you experience SP. So I tried one night as I was having SP.....long story short, I was stabbed by a witch and jolted awake with a horrendous muscle spasm where I was stabbed, so idk if the whole, "cant physically harm you" is true...cause it freaking hurt!! But SP isnt scary to me anymore after that, lol (gunna edit to say: I'm 36..so it's been happening since I was 16-17yrs old)
Bro that was an awesome story was kind of hoping we find out where they were dragged off to but even without that little bit of closure amazing

It's the waking up not being able to move. It could also be that my mind told me to see a dark shadow standing outside my bedroom door. I hope my mind told me to see something standing in front of me. And it wasn't actually something dark standing around watching me sleep lol
Please don't take me. All I could think one of an episode of this that I had a few years back. Felt like I was floating as weird as that is, but being pulled by some type of malicious force..
My first bout of sleep paralysis happened when I fell asleep on my back one night. When I woke up, there was a man standing in the corner of my room, grinning from ear to ear. He got closer, until he was leaning over me, bringing his face closer to mine. I remember thinking "what is that noise?" only to realize it was be, breathing in and out through my nose in a panic. Once I realized it was my own breathe, I woke up for real, and once I could move I turned on the light. All was well and admittedly I was excited, realizing I had just had sleep paralysis for the first time! I haven't fallen asleep on my back since then, but I have to admit, despite how terrifying the experience was, is was pretty cool looking back!

i’m one of the unfortunate people that get sleep paralysis 1-3 times a year and it’s not a fun time at all, from people breaking in or the last one a woman in cloths crawling up my bed to me while mourning. i have to tell myself it’s not real when i actually wake up. thankfully i have my dog which helps me know when i freak out waking up that nothing was real

Never had sleep paralysis, but I've had lingering dreams. Enough that the monsters in my dreams are still in the room with me and I end up trying to fight them off until I realize they're no longer hurting me.

Ah I remember when I was about 9 and experienced sleep paralysis for the first time about 3/4 away through it started to let up and I cramped both of my legs trying to force them to move
