@@EdDevil It makes me think of two things, Atropus, the World Born Dead (D&D), and Hellstar Remina by Junji Ito. The Atropus likeness is particularly important because of the undead factor.

More than just cosmic horror, The Quiet Sky was one of the most ominous creepypasta I've ever read that really affected & whelmed me on a metaphysical level, so its an honour to finally hear it through your unique brand of narration and overall sound production.
From what I've read in your updates the recent days must have been stressful, even depressing to you. But I'm glad to know you remain adamant throughout and, even now, use your mental integrity and effort to deliver a powerful, honest rendition of this story. The scary thing is in real life we really have sent out a lot of messages into space. Think about the fact that we really don’t know what’s out there. Then think how we had no choice in the matter, some scientists and governments made the choice themselves to broadcast our existence to the universe. No one ever stopped to think that maybe we shouldn’t want whatever society or entities that are out there to find us.
You don't have to purposefully aim at space. Humanity has been broadcasting to space since the first radio communications.
I believe Stephan Hawkins told us NOT to do this for these very reasons!! I don’t think I want to know if there’s anything out their nor do I want to know what it is!!!! Great read tonight I love how you bring such pain, sorrow and resignation into my ears. Melancholy never sounded so good.
We long for something more, it's in our soul our DNA.
Sadly no matter the outcome, some will be left longing for something else.
I, in the past few years, personally don't believe we will hear from anything aside from our Creator and when that specific time comes it will be too late for the majority of us. Such as this story. So I choose to believe in that, instead of waiting on deaf / unknowing / non-existent ears...or advanced hearing apparati of course.
This is the only type of fictional horror that really gets to me now. Inescapable, cosmic horror.
The reason we haven't gotten a message back could be because it was ignored. They're hiding from something that we don't know we should be hiding from

Typically I find these stories more fascinating than scary, but this one is actually fascinating AND horrifying. Well fucking done to the author here. A little short but no less memorable than the best of the long epics

This is the best Creepypasta to have ever been written. It just has such a different feeling to it. Maybe it's the part about religious texts and then all of the worship centers, and the narration is definitely part of it, but it gives you a true feeling of hopelessness and finality. we have so many different creepypastas, countless Creepypastas, how about the end of the world. And they're good, they're entertaining. But none of them hit quite like this one does.

A couple of years ago, I suddenly developed a taste for horror; especially cosmic horror. This was one of the first C.P.'s I read and I have yet to find one that that has enthralled me as much as this one.

This was definitely a good listen. The suspense, the mysteries, etc. Honestly, this is true cosmic horror, the sheer horror of the unknown. A entity that affects everything it reaches. Perhaps most unsettling of all is the fact that the entity was able to communicate telepathically from possibly light years away from Earth and reach Earth in only a few Years, causing death and destruction to everything in its path. Unlike more common creepypasta entities that have spawned in the more recent years, this entity isn't something that's a mystery, but it's a mystery for a good reason.
The narrator, the possible last survivor of humanity in the story, is also a mysterious character.
Though, only one thing confuses me: According to the narrator, the satellites were destroyed and all forms of electronics were disabled... So how's he/she able to get the message not only on the internet, but also send it to our reality? (Yes, I know it's fictional, but, for lore purposes, I'd kinda like to know that)

Ive read this and heard this story a few times now, it always gets under my skin, some cosmic unstoppable force becoming aware of our tiny planet and making its way to us. I love how it never fully explains what the thing is, we can gather from its actions its obviously hostile and powerful to be able to effect the planet even while very far away, its obviously very large to block stars out of the sky during its approach. I think by never fully explaining what it is or what it looks like it adds to that fear of the unknown......but i also really wish i knew what the thing is supposed to look like lol
The weakest thing it could be is Hastur, Cthulhu's brother that's chilling completely awake somewhere out there.

1st I'd like to say this was a wonderfully creepy tale, and I liked every moment of it.
Secondly is it just me or is the patrion name list getting more and more food related? I am just getting hungry lissening to it now. I'm half expecting "I Turned My Curnol Into Fried Chicken" to show up on that list every time I hear it now.

Man, I always wanted you to have a crack at this one since I heard it on Dr Creepen (who did great, just wanted to see your version).
I've often wondered if that first hissing, buzzing message was not actually the Voice, but an alien race basically saying "will you shut up, he's going to notice you!"
I thought I had recognized it from the Dark Somnium version only it's like double the length so I didn't realize it was the same story at first. While I like the voice modulation for the cosmic horror that Somnium does I kind of prefer the other despair that Mr Creepypasta has throughout this story. Just listening to him narrated feels hopeless and it's perfect for this.

This is the bad ending to Radio Silence. In Radio Silence, we get a message that says "Be quiet or they'll hear you." This is what happens if the benevolent aliens are unable to warn us to shut the fuck up in time.
You never appreciate how OP warhammer really is until your realize that if this thing popped up in that universe, some Armored smurfs would convince some green fungi that they could kill it, and they actually would simply because they believe they can.

Makes me think either Atropus, quoted above from Elder Evils in 3.5, or of Azathoth the Idiot God from HP Lovecraft. If I used them in my D&D, this creepypasta would absolutely be played for my players. Such amazing writing.
