Kento on this day was pretty close to the Kento Momota of 2019. Why did I say so? Because as you can see, he still got his technique and also confident on that day. What he needs right now, is more win, in order to regain his confident.

no no no. What you said about his confidence and techniques are definitely true. Momota also has even better perceptiveness on grasping attack opportinities however, momota's body is too bad rn. He simply cannot sustain the previous way of playing. He cannot do anything to get back hus prime physique, he also isn't as good as lin dan to play control so he has nothing.

His match against Gemke was kinda even, bit top players like Shi Yu Qi eats momota for breakfast right now.

@@yichenchen9410 That's a pity for him. After Lindan and Lee Chong Wei era, Momota is the player that I love watching.

@@yichenchen9410 just wanna say thats kinda funny cause momota just beat shi yuqi in german open 2023, 21-16, 21-15 or something close to that. so momota may actually be back a little.

@@trash_carrot5735 Yeah, he regined some of his good form. But Shi Yu Qi is far from top form, Shi also has suffered multiple severy injuries. I am sure that you are aware of that already, just not sure about what happened to Shi again. Maybe momota use this as a competition as comeback and Shi Yu Qi is usnig this as a warmup before all England.

The Japanese audience looks cultured, but I remember a match of sindhu vs akane where japanese were so noisy

There is no "prime", conditions of players vary every now and then depending on thousands of situation. Let's focus on skills, techniques, strategies and 'conditions' right at that match.
