There is nothing wrong with what she's doing. Go see them live she's is all over the stage and by the crowd dancing like nobody's watching and she's perfect for that! :)
When I saw them play Lorna passed around that same mystery jug of alcohol. She stopped at the request of the venue because it was in the US and she 'forgot' that 18 year old's can't drink here. Then the stand up bass player crowd surfed WITH THE BASS. Was one of the most gangster things I've ever seen. 10/10 I'm in love.
Lol, I was in Atlanta in 2002, they had Newcy brown (Newcastle brown ale) on tap, they tried telling us we needed a passport to eat food and drink , the rule being you had to have food to have a drink. They gave up on us, we were well laid that night but managed to raise a good few quid for local charity with some good laughs.
I just got to meet some of them recently in Massachusetts at one of their concerts and they don't look any different a decade later. They really put on a great show
Bri Gallagher ha, I seen them about 6 weeks ago in a tent outdoors in a field and they killed it then too, and very intimate.. I prefer that to a big stage
Very folk punk like Gogol Bordello, plus the accordian. I bet these guys are tons of fun to see in a smaller venue, also like Gogol. I can seriously get down to this kind of music.
if they can convey that energy on their album we'll have something! hope this brand of music keeps growing. thanks for finding these people for me, NPR. god nose the (other) radio stations are in their respective ruts!
Since I couldn't find it elsewhere, here are the performers Lorna Thomas - Vocals Daniel Heptinstall - Guitar (White shirt) Maxwell Thomas - Accordion/Mandolin Andy "Slim" Black - Guitar (with the hat) Michael Camino - Bass
I did actually find Skinny Lister in a pub on a late evening in Whitstable England as few years back. The description in the pub window said "The rum filled English cousin's of the Pogues". Good enough for me!!!
It's amazing the energy that comes from an acoustic recording over one that separates humans into soundless boxes. The molecules vibrating between them are happip-ily bouncing. LOVE. (Thanks, Bob B!)
I saw them at Cropredy less than two weeks ago. I had never heard of them before , but they really blew me away , together with the rest of the nearly 20000 in that field.
When they become world famous, it won't be because some big producer discovered them, or because some RUclips video went viral. It'll because of their own hard work. A
I had an arm wrestle with Lorna last night in Carlisle, what a Lady and what a band God bless them

I just saw them at SXSW and to my surprise - not my usual taste in music - was bowled over by their performance. And she’s still arm-wrestling:)
I saw them open last night opening for Frank Turner at the House of Blues in San Diego. So awesome!
WOW. Easily one of the best Tiny Desk ever. Outstanding performance, lovely music. Thank you Skinny Lister and NPR.

I LOVEEEE SKINNY LISTER
They sound a lot more authentic than FM ever did to me.
Haha! She is what people might call, a functioning alcoholic. This was a great Tiny Desk Concert, though... very pretty music, especially "Colours".
luv it!
Also reminds me a little of Gogol Bordello... just thought I'd through that out there.
she's....bouncy.
I'm in love with an English folk-punk singer?
Dear NPR, Can you get Stealing Sheep in for a session? They'd be amazing.
