Folks please keep positive thoughts going for Shoestring. Mark was dealt a bad hand in life in some respects but he is loved by many. He found something in life that gives him peace which he freely shares with all of us. I am a proud member of the Shoestring Army. We love you Shoestring.

My biggest fear is that Mark fell in the lake out behind his place in the middle of the night. He would have never jumped a train without his hat or his gear, they were part of him. Prayers that they find him alive and well!

He could still be in the lake but the lake is down right now real low , there isn't even water under the dock behind his house right now

I live in Falkville Alabama I have a nephew who drives for CSX I live about a half a mile from the tracks every time I see a train pass 0 I look at the grinders that goes by I asked my nephew fa would put the word out let's just all pray that he would come home safe I really enjoyed watching his channel

Even tho his family said his apartment was checked need to check every where. Under beds the basement everywhere

He's not in the lake... if he was his body would've been on the surface days ago. He of course knows that I'm surprised that you do not. That's also a horrible way to die he would know that as well. He's not in the lake.
With all due respect. I’d seen videos that state Mark was hallucinating when he left the hospital. Has anybody considered that he may have been prescribed medication for anxiety. If you do research you’ll find that some of those medications induce severe panic attacks which could be described as hallucinations.
Has anyone notified any rail yards in the area to keep an eye out for Mark?
His videos are calming before that became popular , hoping for his safe return so his sharing continues 🛤️

Exactly. And him being smart would know that. I'm gonna miss him like the rest of us. He was a story teller and his knowledge of the rail system, the yard layouts, the little nuances , etc was beyond incredible. Yep he made a science out of it.

Sadly mark was found dead in the lake that they had planned on searching tomorrow. He was loved by many and the railways won’t be the same with out him, may he rest in peace and ride those golden rails in heaven.
The body of Mark Nichols was found in Boone Lake by a fisherman at 2:45 this afternoon...

He in the lake
He's not in the lake. If he was he'd long ago be at the surface by now. Bodies blow up like balloons when they decompose. When they get bigger but their weight does not rise they displace a lot more water. What happens then? Yeah they float like cork. Remember Scott Peterson's wife and unborn? He tied her down with a coupla concrete blocks but she STILL popped back to the surface.
