A UK election, the French election & US election in the same year. The rollercoaster of joy to concern to absolute despair.
Dreading every second.
Where does the joy come in? 😭
@@InnuendoXP Tonight
More than 10 years ago my father at the age of 74 was showing signs of Alzheimer’s. Which stopped after stress had been relieved. Now at 85 he shows no signs of any mental decline.
That’s crazy and lovely, but I don’t think that’s the case for most unfortunately. It’s an unpreventable disease. Really glad your dads still with us.
When you go vote just remember how miserable Tories have made all of your lives for the past 14 years.
The Conservatives have done me an enormous favour since 2021.
@@Craig121000Austerity & Massive Tax Cuts don't help everyone...Just the out of touch.
I'm talking about the Cost of Living Crisis.
Inflation, which impacted millions never impacted me once.

I'm better at handling money than millions of people in the UK.
Also, food isn't expensive.

Biden is just Old.
I'll take old over bad.
It's also old vs bad and slightly less old. I know which I''d pick.
@@laulau194Yes, but don’t you think that America, and the rest of the world for that matter, deserved at least one candidate who is up to the job?
Bernie Sanders is the President the USA should of gotten.
@@jamesbruce8749 unfotunately.hes far too fair minded and like corbyn just too decent.america is just too right wing to accept someone like him.ive read his book and his vision is exactly how id like to see britain where everyone gets a fair go..we could do worse then learn from scandinavian countries who have some socialist principals within their society and also have highest records of life satisfaction.

Bernie Sanders in the USA, Corbyn in the UK, and Gough Whitlam in Australia should've never been ousted by a CIA-compromised governor general in the 70's either.
I don't think it's helpful to compare brain fog to cognitive decline.
As someone who suffers from brain fog, it’s not cognitive decline in any way, 2 very different things
@@user-fw2pp3wm2k Yes, they are a world apart. Although other symptoms of fibro probably compound to make the experience feel altogether as bad. The caller didn't really sell it with saying she forgot what day it was, which is pretty common with anyone really.
In my area only 25% came out to vote absolutely madness after the terrible 14yrs everyone has had
Thats depressing
Why??? They are both as bad each other, that's why they are called the uni-party.
Labour is so moved to the centre that is hardly labour
Dear JO,
I do appreciate your show and the subjects you raise.
Happy Election Day from the west side of the pond ole friends!
Happy Independence day from the east side of the pond, our treacherous cousins! 😄
@Our_Sole_Pusch I see what you did there you silly c word! Lol
Hope your local and higher elections went the way you wanted 👍
Bernir Sanders is a great politician. Would or could he deliver all he speaks of, i doubt it...but none the less still a great leader.
Why do people expect perfection from the politically left, and yet accept the politically right yo be thugs?
Why not hold discussion about trump's lies
There's a treasure trove of James vs Trump supporters. Although more needs to be said on his Project 2025 authoritarian platform.
@@danmayberry1185 Very true, that needs as much air time as possible.
It's tragic that by this point no-one holds Trump to even a baseline standard of sanity - his reality-rewriting BS is seen as "just him."
Exactly the same as boris, it’s just him isn’t he entertaining!!! terrifying

Always wondered why the media goes quiet about politics on polling day
I love the way James is more than happy to extol the virtues and political values for Bernie Sanders, yet hates Corbyn who stands on pretty much the same values.
Bernie Sanders & James O'Brien....That's a Presidential Ticket I'd vote for in a nanosecond. 🎉

Rishi Sunak called for a Press conference during a storm & was too dumb to bring an umbrella....Let that sink in for a second. 😂
Heard that was Larry the Cat having a champion wazz off the Number 10 roof - the rest of London was sunny.
Won’t be long before people are moaning about what labour has done to the country.
Right, off to the polling station to put X for my chosen one.
And who will your X go to this time around 😂
Problem is 2 fold, 1 the first past the post is undemocratic and 2 we are little American because of it so it’s a choice of the same 2 who don’t represent anyone but themselves
Hearing James try not to talk politics in 2 minutes is funnier than I imagined haha
I had the Ultravox Collection on DVD.
It seems at some polling stations in Glasgow the staff have told voters to put numbers like 1-6 on the voting slip in order of their preference ..
That happens in the ppr election part of Scottish govmt election r u sure it was this election and someone not talking about the Scottish elections.
And yes that’s 100% true, as it’s how most elections in Scotland work, not to mention the thousands of missing postal votes
It was reported around yesterday afternoon,
Biden had one bad debate and people are losing their minds. Obama first debate against Mit Romney was bad. As a American I want Biden to stay in. He done a great job. My dad lived until he was 87 yeah he got talked slower and walked slower but had a Sharp mind till the day he died.
Here is the truth. After hearing that would you let him drive your kids to Disney land and take them round for the day without you being there? If the answer is no then you can't let the guy run a country.
“I don’t want to Labour this point”
Biden - it is an easy choice - am very tired of this feeding frenzy by media - no mention of state of the union sharpness and his achievements since in office - not very balanced- have you heard Trump at his rallies? No mention - it matters
The double standards enrage me. Trump should genuinely be committed somewhere and yet people regularly discuss him as though he is a semi-functioning human being.
@@grahamwade5932 If he wasn't wealthy he would've been in a padded cell by now.
As an American, I'm only interested in a politician's signature, therefore, Biden has my vote!
As a American too he has my vote too.
What do you think of the rumours that he might step out of the running? Whom would you replace him with?
@@Our_Sole_Pusch He's not going anywhere.
Being a leftie from the U.S., I’ve never had the luxury to vote for a single candidate that aligns with my values, so I will always vote for the Democratic Party, *ahem* ranked-choice-voting, please!, because they do the least harm of the only two parties with any chance of power.
So, yeah… the Democratic Party: we may be ancient, but we’re not a pantomime villain!
*sigh*
@@chrisleneil Do you wish that Bernie Sanders got the Democratic ticket?
He was over here a few months ago. He seemed very switched on and came across as rather likeable.
The last hour of this show literally has made me feel like i need a 3 week nap, my head is absolutely fried with that magnet question 🤣🤣

Who the radio scruff? Your trolling 🤣
Hmm a gagging order on election day , it would be nice to apply it to politicians. I can remember Radio Caroline , taping songs of their broadcasts !!
Not to be negative but a country that watched Trump for the last 8 years and still has half the voters willing to do it again is already doomed. Might as well hand him the keys for the collapse
There's not enough time to change the nominee,if it's not the VP,they won't have access to that campaign money, and they won't have the bully pill pit!!!!!!
Read bernie sanders book.and imagine a leader with amazing empathy who genuine ly cares about people and the idea of a country thats fair to all.but probably far too nice for the nasty world of politics.its ok to be angry about capitilsm.thats his book.
Oh dear, how defeated .... "angry"?
Capitalism cannot be made to work in the interest of workers and will not be voted away.
We have been able to thrive because of capitalism for hundreds of years, the opposite.. Well we all know what happens there.
We had a leader with the same qualities. Unfortunately people like O'Brien - who loves Bernie - were more than willing to smear him.
That isn’t the debate is it? Many people would argue the Joe Biden has genuine empathy, and cares about people, but that’s a different issue.
more fun than the normal phone in days
He needs to do a town hall 💯💯👍🏽👍🏽
To be honest, the frame of thinking about my grandmother would be more permissive than the way I've already been thinking about Biden. She passed at 84, and while she got muddled and tired, she was still sharp and lucid until the day she died.
1:29:08 Timestamp for the AI James O’Brien Pop song, somehow it’s not terrible
The issue with the uk, is first past the post which means we have a 2 party system, a choice of bad or worse, time to reform the system and give the voters a voice
What if you just roll the car windows down the moment you hit the surface of the water???
Then u can go out the window early if u can fit.
See that makes sense, the reason for the equal thing is to do with pressure, BUT what if the bottom is to far from the top
Aw James. I didn't listen today because of the election rules and blasted tunes all day. I just checked out the intro while waiting for the 10pm thing and I think you should have done a bit of prep (just for today), or just stayed at home 😂
The last senile incumbent we had took 49 states 🇺🇲
Four prime ministers in just under two years…. As long as we don’t address the origin of most of our problems as a country we will continue changing prime ministers, shifting from labour to conservatives and form conservative to labour and we will keep wondering why things don’t change. As long as we don’t leave our arrogance behind and accept that Brexit is the culprit we will continue blaming our politicians for something that the people, the electorate itself, has a huge responsibility for:BREXIT. Fix Brexit and the country will fix itself. Does labour plan to address Brexit? No. Then forget it, we will stay where we are and in four years time we will be debating the same old problems
Well I agree with a bit of what you said BUT you can’t blame the electorate for being drip fed utter nonsense daily by the media, and the only power they have is a vote, that granted has been devalued to benefit the ones being voted, it’s just a ping pong ball going from 1 side to another and back again, what we need is to remove first past the post which would stop the 2 party system and give more people representation, remember us and American are the few who in a so called democratic society still use this system
We've now had four hours of Labour misrule. I wish I could apologise to Liz Truss and get her back.
How do I listen to the James song on Suno?
Man, all these personal experiences are tough to listen to.
Being Potus is not the same as having personal independance. The US voters will be less sentimental. Dementia is a horible and scary condition and not sure if he definately has that. But even if he wasn't 80+ we would have to admit that wasnt a performance of a presidential candidate.

How about discussing the meaning of life, or is that too political?
Yes it is true re car filling with water. This is somegthing that was always told in the 60s. The amount of informattion lost over the decades is incredible. Also job correct re electriic window cos ur car cld settle next to a rock so door cld not be opened therefore windows cld be opened when this was done manually. Now off course they r electric so one other way of escaping a flooded car is gone. I see advert recently to buy a small piece of metal that can break a car wundow for exactly this circumstance.

brain fog is up there on excuses for middle aged people.
It’s not you know, it’s a symptom of menopause in women but fibromyalgia also causes brain fog and is not age related
Think youve promoted labour enough over the last few years to have a day off 👌
I for the first time after seeing his debate thought sorry for Joe and realised that he needs to be replaced I would never vote for a pm or in case of America a president who over the last several months you watch decline and make so many mistakes that you can no longer justify them being in such a powerful and important position sorry but time he stood down and gave someone else the opportunity. Otherwise I hate to say it but your handing it to trump to win
Do you apply the same criteria to Trump? He's made numerous gaffes too, moreover... he's a wannabe dictator, he's admitted it.

What are JOB and LBC going do for the next five years… 5 years of fawning I guess
You can't be serious. The minute Starmer stands at the despatch box and says, "Mr Speaker, it's worse than we thought," he will be eviscerated.
"fawning" - (verb). Continuing to be useful to radio listeners and helping to expose deliberate and/or faux ignorance and stupidity in politicians and their lick-spittle supporters who phone into L.B.C.
You must be new here.
Sunak left the Tory policy on inheritance tax unchanged ( so people can still give or receive up to £1M tax free) whereas Labour's manifesto (Starmer the tax thief) clearly wants to ROB 40% from very homeowner in the UK.
No that's not how that works
@@Jonnyonthespot123 I suspect they're a bot, a lot of these comments are these days.
Nice try but even I, in Germany, have followed the UK media enough to know that this applies to houses you own but don't live in - like renting them out. Homeowners, who live in their houses, are not affected but ... nice try. When desperation sets in and a former PM has already made lies fashionable ... why not embark on that road again.

In my sheetmetal apprenticeship we had to make every fitting by hand. We laid it out on metal and hand forms, cut and did all the fabrication by hand. While at my actual job we had a machine that cut everything out and did all the forming. I learned so much from doing it by hand that it was so valuable that I didn't realize when I was doing it by hand. If you dont keep the ability alive it will be lost and need rediscovered
