My German partner will tell you that, without EU, the hassle of exchanging currencies, and the restrictions on movement of goods. Considered Germany had one of the strongest currencies in Europe before the EU, the Germans would still tell you that it is better being in the EU than being the outside of it. And if not for the EU, I reckon Russia would invade as many small European countries as they can, seeing the way they strong arm their military. Unfortunately, it started even earlier in the UK: with Brexit. The anti-EU rhetoric had been building since the 2000s (Farage and his UKIP populist party) but reached a crescendo around 2015 with the announcement of there being a referendum to finally decide our status in the EU....long story short the rightwing populists, which covers most of the British press, and the populist politicians like Farage and Johnson confected a campaign to convince enough disenfranchised to vote against their own best interests and vote to leave the biggest and most successful trading bloc in the world - all to enrich the rightwing elites in the UK, of course. James O'Brien has been trying to hold people to account from day 1....but the populist idiocy, like Trump in the USA, knows no bounds! As you can see in these interviews: "I am right and I don't care about your 'facts'!! My mind is made up."

It's like listening to a lasagne explaining its own recipe.
That just sums up your Brexit voter in a nutshell..
"The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter" - Winston Churchill
The worry is that we have millions of people as muddled as this man. They elected Johnson.
Boris Trump?
they were hurdled into worse vs worser. They chose worse to put off worser which will be upon us at the next election.
What about the constituents who voted for Rayner?🤪
@@gerardflynn7382 Trump might be elected again. Millions there seem to have the longterm memory of a goldfish
"They" didn't elect Johnson. He was chosen by the Tory Party.

Just astonishing that anyone would call a radio station to talk politics without having a clue what there talking about, no facts, no figures absolutely nothing at all!!!
Incredible lack of any self awareness at all, whatsoever! Sad, very sad.
Why are you remoners so rude 🙄
and yet hes allowed to present radio.
How James keeps his cool while listening to idiots, morons and imbeciles is a mystery to me. I want to train myself to do that.
He's getting paid to do that. If you get paid for it, you can learn anything. If you want to, that is.
😂😂😂😂😂
I listened through this and was about to throw my computer out the window at least twice in the first minute. James is the most composed man on the planet!
I think that your spellcheck has accidentally replaced the word "corrupt" with "composed".
Alex I too listened to this and I was absolutely speechless. I believe the referendum should never have taken place exactly due to this problem. Too many ignorant, gullible people voting on something so complex as this. I will not be riding on his bus.
Wake up

@@malcolmholmes2205 Wake up to what?
This guy is amazing. He literally can't name a single thing
The more I listen to James, the more I realize that the exact same thing that happened in the states happened in the UK after Covid. It's amazing what fear can do to a society.
I don't think COVID is to blame. Lack of education though perhaps
It's been present for much longer than the Covid pandemic.
Before putin was searching for Hillarys emails he was messing around in Westminster
I’m amazed how listeners call in and speak such gaslit bs
Because this pathetic runt of a station only lets in people they can walk all over, to paint the country in as worse a picture as possible and let the idiots that follow this channel and the station be so easily manipulated and made even stupider.
I'm amazed how a radio presenter can speak such gaslit BS on his show.

He is a presenter.
