While watching this I just happened to be listening to Ronnie Milsap's "Lost in the Fifties Tonight". I set them both up again, lowered the volume on your vid just enough to hear the hum of the engines (I ignored the kids), started them both up and it was perfect. The sax hits when the buildings come into vew and it just gives you goosebumps. Great job on keeping the camera steady and focused.
Nice video, and great scenery. I haven't been at Lindbergh since the 90's back in a DC8, and we went around in low vis fog CAT II approach because of an EGPWS callout which turned out to be the parking garage at the end of the runway. Too bad I missed this scenery, wow is beautiful! I like the kids in the background "Heck No!" said Mom to a comment. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video here..there was a show on the History Channel (?) about the most extreme airports. KSAN here was ranked #10 on the list. The other US airport was in Vail I think.
First time I flew a 737, was back in the early eighties on one of the old issues (not so old then). I had a window seat just behind the wing. Nice view I thought. We landed and the engine break deployed and scared the crap out of me...Thought the engine was falling off...
@b7e7 yes I personally do not think it is dangerous, but KSAN was featured on a History Channel episode for most dangerous airports. The parking garage just makes landings a bit more difficult but I have not heard of any incidents with that. Happy landings!
@b7e7 well I live in San Diego, and actually some people do consider the airport dangerous because of that massive hill in front of the runway that forces airplanes to descend rather rapidly. Also, there is a large multi-story car park, located RIGHT IN FRONT of the runway, poses pretty high hazards to planes if they come in too low
hey i noticed from flying for a while if you catch a early morning flight or late nite flight....lol no screaming kids because everyone is usually half asleep at those times
@frequentairbusflyer8 I might, it depends on where I'm sitting, if I'm awake, if the people in my row are alright with me taping, etc. I'm not sure yet.
@Python7791 I live in San Diego as well....none of these things make Lindbergh dangerous. Yes, there is a greater descent rate compared to other approaches, but this does not mean it is dangerous. The hill is the reason why there is this greater descent rate and a displaced threshold, the parking garage has nothing to do with anything.
@surferman735 San Diego is a ok airport to land at but not at all dangurous or xtreme in fact it has always been a smoth landing for me even on a 767. Extrem is vegas in the middle of monson season lol :)
Great vid! 5* Has anyone ever noticed that when the 737 lands it is always pretty rough like this one because ive been on a 737 8 (16times counting coming home) times and its always like this
@Python7791 Right, don't believe everything you see on TV. I believe it was on there to help US viewers relate to an airport. The parking garage does not making anything more difficult.
@surferman735 Its different when you take it from a Civilians perspective. Real World pilots dont worry about that kind of stuff, they dont even worry about going to work and thinking im going to crash today or get hijacked, atleast they shouldnt.
most spectacular! yeah, that San Diego view approaching the runway is like nowhere else... capturing it at sunset made it extra nice!
I love the approach into Runway 27 at SAN, right through the heart of downtown!
Great video.
Most beautiful approach views of any city in america.

gorgeous approach at a beautiful time of day. great video. :)
One of the best things about flying home is seeing the city on the way in :)

Beautiful approach! Loved the skyscrapers!!!
Awesome view of San Diego!
This took my breath away. Beautiful.
Good job videoing the approach and landing. Keep up the good work!
Love San Diego, was stationed there in the Navy from 2002 to 2007 great city.
San Diego rwy 27 landings are always awesome ! Very well filmed.
Your are an exceptional videographer.I know alot is luck but this is stunning. Your Midway one was equally unreal.Wonderful job.
Amazing, I miss flying onto KSAN, such a fun and amazing approach..Used to join the localizer out over my house in Alpine too.
Great Video. I'll be landing in san diego tonight! I can't wait.
I miss visit San Diego very much, I hope I can come back to San Diego again very soon.
Absolutely beautiful video; great time of day, and the landing was almost as smooth as the PSA flights back in the day. :-) Very nice work indeed!
Great filming! Great video! :)
Just beautiful!

I think you mean OAK to SAN.
That's the flight I took and landed what seems like a similar time. Gorgeous approach.

i love the view of the city, very nice!!
beautiful, man!
Awesome Landing...... ROCK ON SOUTHWEST!!!!
@THarm688 Yes, when you take the landing thru downtown, especially at night, you can look in the buildings and see people working. Very cool.

Wow! That's awesome.
Cool video. Long time SWA customer/flyer.
My eyes were glued to the computer screen Lol! Literally
Wicked view!! :D

nice city landing :D
@b7e7 All your videos are awesome!
@b7e7 agree, the approach is can be crazy sometimes but no issues with landing and departing planes. that was a thumbs up fail !
hey i noticed from flying for a while if you catch a early morning flight or late nite flight....lol no screaming kids because everyone is usually half asleep at those times
@flyzapva go look at the engine and the wing. It's a -700. Go on A.net and look at a -300 in this view, then look at a -700.
@meRyanP No it's a -300. Smaller wings and shorter winglets.
@Flyglobespan93 yup!...its the a/c not the pilots tho....buts its cool...cos u really feel the reverse thrust,brakes...etc...
@frequentairbusflyer8
I might, it depends on where I'm sitting, if I'm awake, if the people in my row are alright with me taping, etc. I'm not sure yet.
Nice video!! pretty
@ifthenandelse an hour in the air, little longer if you add in the taxi time.

Cool video! You should change tail number in the description because it says M instead of N.
I love my San Diego!
I love sunset landings =) 5*
I'm sorry to ask but... you mean a still camera for taking photographs can also record videos images?
"That was fun!" Yup,well said kid. :)
@surferman735 San Diego is a ok airport to land at but not at all dangurous or xtreme in fact it has always been a smoth landing for me even on a 767. Extrem is vegas in the middle of monson season lol :)
737-300 + winglets =
you have a very nice camera, may I ask what camera it is?
Heh. This was uploaded on my birthday in 2009...and WN ROCKS
@fruitkill11 Some do. airBaltic, Jettime and Southwest all use them.
@flyzapva it all depends I was on a southwest 737-300 with no winglets
Nice video, San Diego is the best!
THAT WAS FUN!!! 3:53
nice
Was wondering exactly the same...
Great vid! 5*
Has anyone ever noticed that when the 737 lands it is always pretty rough like this one because ive been on a 737 8 (16times counting coming home) times and its always like this
what camera did u use?
@Python7791 Right, don't believe everything you see on TV. I believe it was on there to help US viewers relate to an airport. The parking garage does not making anything more difficult.
The next time when you fly to the Bay Area, you should fly to San Jose Airport.
looks like you've got a birthday coming up
I miss San diego!
@flyzapva no -300s don't have any winglets
@mooo483
going to record the landing?
What seat is this
what row are you in?
@chendrik No, I mean we departed from SFO.
Just think about the stoping didtance! And British Airways serves KSAN with 777-200 equipment!! :D
i pity my friends who wont fly....
@meRyanP no a -700 has bigger winglets
@flyzapva So true!
Great Video! Thumbs up if you barely understood a word that the flight attendant said after landing. xD
When those buildings came into view, I was like Woah Shit!
👍👍
Very plush landing.
@mooo483
ok cool, hope you get some footage :)
I know I'm flying out of Albany on wednesday! It's very small and uneventful so it is a good travel experience
wow.......
Yeah, I know. Probably because they don't like the cabin pressure change that hurts their ears. Especially if they're suffering from an ear infection.
if only this airline had tv's then i would stop flying jetblue and go right to this but even though there are no tv's it is still a great airline
I was on flight 3154 from MCO to ALB on 9/06/11
I swear every time i land the reverse thrusters sound like a drumroll
Anybody know the seat?
this is an xtreme airport. i hrd tht since theres only 1 runway 4 all flights then it can b real dangerous thumbs up if u agree
me facinan las turbinas del southwest boing737 seria genial que southwest fabricara el boing 757 o el boing 777 seria aviones muy hermosos
@surferman735 Its different when you take it from a Civilians perspective. Real World pilots dont worry about that kind of stuff, they dont even worry about going to work and thinking im going to crash today or get hijacked, atleast they shouldnt.
@flyzapva That's a 700 ;)
Albany! Woo!
ikr
LOL. That is very true....
