Thank you for this magnificent view of Manhattan. I love NYC. I went there once but my aircraft landing at night. I have the tears ax eyes in looking at the video ,it's so beautiful!!!!! Annie, Paris
I have flown into La Guardia hundreds of times, but have never flown that pattern. Unusual approach coming in southbound over Manhattan. Nice piece of camera work.
You were certainly sitting on the best side of the plane for a great view! Thanks for sharing this! We should never take this amazing technology for granted!
Lived in NYC for over twenty years and love flying into LGA.I try to book early on right window. Every now and again, I luck out with the River visual approach(Hudson) where in you know NY/NJ metro, Sandy Hook, then Coney,up the mouth of the bay,BEAUTIFUL view of Manhattan(if they don't cut it short and it's crystal clear) turn over The Bronx or Westchester for the approach onto runway 22. Also, flyout on #31-you flew into here, turn over Bronx and hard cut S for view of NYC-AMAZING! Nice Video!
Who doesnt love NYC the view is soo amazing ive been 2 NYC 1nce and im goin again in 1st 2 weeks of august the view from the plane window is abit like this absolutly stunning :D
1-You did an excellent job of recording. 2-The captan did a great jobs of landing smoothly. I fly frequently from NY-Fl and I've had some very tough landing. Thats a tough angle to land in when he made that final turn. I looked like he wasnt going to make it.
Thank the Lord you didn't add some silly music to overshadow this great video... you kept it REAL what a nice view from start to finish....job well done!
NY NY NY... .I had always thought I would live in Europe my whole life, then I came here and in only 5 days Iwas totally blown away by this amazing city...now I keep thinking that I'll have to move here as soon as possible! New York I Adore You
Without a doubt one of the world's most exciting approaches. I have often thought on this approach that the pilot might as well just stab the left wingtip into the ground and pivot around it!
i saw my building at 1:15 probably i was home that day and annoyed that some airplane was making noise while i was trying to watch tv. awesome. thanks!
I LOVE NEW YORK!! since the first time i went i realized it was my true love ;D i ve gone 3 times and i always stay there like for 2 months and stuff! its really cool! love it :D I
It's absoluetly 100% LaGuardia. It's located north-east of Manhattan. Newark is South-west of the city. What a wonderful view, I am so wanting to be there right now. I didn't think planes would be allowed to fly so low over the immediate city after 9/11. Amazing view :)
Great approach and video, I don't know if the video posted date is anywhere near the actual recording of this video (It's obviously within a year or so) but man did they build Citi Field fast haha
great vid! love it...but...im not quite sure if that's landing in laguardia..its somewhere in jersey. Laguardia's on the other side if i'm not mistaken..
been there one month ago for the first time...i knew i was going to enjoy NYC but i never thought i would have loved it so much! after i did my check in before taking the plane back home i walked out the newark airport entrance to have one last cigarette on the american soil and i was feeling a knot in my throat..the beautiful and yet sad feeling you get when things you've loved just fade away..the best of travelling in one feeling i guess! but i'll be back, and it wont take too long :D
You don't get THAT approach too often~ Nice view- The city so nice- they named it TWICE...NY, NY ~ damn- That was old Shea Stadium- (4:15 or so) long gone now-
Agreed. A hot dog smelling greasepit and indoor skid row bars. There was once the Singer Tower on lower Broadway near the Woolworth Building that was also torn down about 1964-ish. At the tip of City Hall Park and Park Row and B'way was an old Post Office. Think they tore that down in the 1920's. That would have made a great City of New York Museum.
@phillyslasher You're absolutely correct although I like flying into LaGuardia when they go up the Hudson and the skyline of Manhattan is on the right. It's especially awesome on a real clear day when one can view virtually all of NYC, the Sound the ocean on out to Long Island and see the mass of skyscrapers. That's why I love flying into LaGuardia.
Thank you for this magnificent view of Manhattan. I love NYC. I went there once but my aircraft landing at night. I have the tears ax eyes in looking at the video ,it's so beautiful!!!!! Annie, Paris

This video reminded me of that great feeling of suspense and wonder while landing. I just love flying so much.
Used to LOVE flying into La Guardia at night when I still lived in NYC. BEAUTIFUL.
New York is really amazingly beautiful.
Thank you for this :)
Thanks for the nice filming and thank you New York.
Thanks. It's been a long time since I've flown into NY. Loved this. Thanks.
I went to NYC this summer, from Montréal and i flew over Manhattan just like that before landing at La Guardia, amazing!
one of the best videos i've seen of approach/landing. i think i took a similar route into LGA but the cloud level was so low i couldn't see anything

Great video. Landing in LGA is a fantastic visual experience, especially at night.
Really nice steady footage there! Excellent job! Sounds like it was a pleasant & quiet flight too.
Ahhh, good ol Shea Stadium! I've been on flights that have made similar approaches to LGA but that turn over Manhattan was definitely sweet!
This brings back memories of my first plane ride and trip to NY. Landed the exact same way!
amazing view from the air. Glad you had your video camera and used it. Thanks!
Awesome ... Smooth camera work too - I enjoyed that ... Thx for posting!
the view from landing at La Guardia is absoloutly phenominal! Even though La Guardia is a small airport, the view is totally worth it!
Wonderfully shot! It recalled my past flying memories....
I always get a window seat when coming into LGA. Thanks for the awesome video.
Nice steady camera work. Feels & looks like we're on the plane with you!
Nice job Dude!!!! I just can't get enough of it. Maybe someday I'll grow up!!!
Glad to see someone captured the historic and famous "Expressway Visual RWY 31" approach on a clear day!

We can see structures from NY 1964 World´s fair, very nice! Thanks for sharing with us.

I fly in and out of LGA a lot, always love when this approach is used
seeing new york from above gives you goose bumps.
Terrific video. I was TOTALLY unaware that the plane goes right over New York City on approach to landing, i thought it would have been further away!
Thank the Lord you didn't add some silly music to overshadow this great video... you kept it REAL what a nice view from start to finish....job well done!
EXTRAORDINARY VIDEO FOOTAGE.... EXCEPTIONALLY DONE!!!!!
I Really Felt Like I was on the plane myself. ~~~ I LOVE N.Y.C.... THANKS!!!!

Fantastic. Is that the UN building visible beginning at 0:20 to the left of centre, right on the river?
Cool Video i love new york you can see everything in this video 5 stars from me ;)

I could see the U.S. Open Tennis Complex down there. Nice work.
