Nice to the younger Gens appreciate the magic of Roy Clark, he was an amazing!! As a guitar player myself. not even close to his playing, Ive always Love his playing.. I think only people that play guitar can get it.. Thanks Love your expressions. haha..
The greatest all around guitarist, IMO. The man could play actually anything on the guitar from the fastest riffs to the most intricate fingerstyle! Unbeatable!
I mean the guy just picks the guitar up and with cold hands just shreds! All in front of a live audience no overdubs no retakes ..I mean he just destroys that poor Martin. Simply murdered it
This guy was nothing short of a virtuoso on anything with strings: banjo, mandolin, guitar (6- or 12), fiddle/violin. Some good ones to watch are roy clark and glen campbell ghost riders in the sky, roy clark and jimmy henley. Once an amazing rock guitarist (Jimi Hendrix?) was asked what it was like to be the world's greatest guitarist, and his answer was, "I don't know. Ask Roy Clark."
Just a good ol' country boy who happened to be a master at his craft. As incredible as he was on the guitar, it was the banjo he loved playing the most.
I’m very familiar with this piece and Roy Clark. When you first paused the video and started it over, I thought ‘you haven’t seen or heard anything yet’.
IN AN INTERVIEW WITH EDDIE VAN HALEN... HE WAS ASKED HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE THE GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER.... HE ANSWERED... I DONT KNOW... ASK ROY CLARK...BECAUSE HE IS.
Only the true Rock n Roll Gutarists knew how good Roy's masterful string instrument talent was. Love those country boy. Roy was the Master. Oh by the way. I Love your true reaction. Absolutely Mesmerizing
Roy was a master at anything with strings! He was recorded to have the fastest pace on the guitar. He was also a comedian and host of the country show hee haw.
Earlier on this same episode, Roy sang his biggest hit (Yesterday When I Was Young), then played the banjo, then classical on the violin (followed by blue grass). That video is on RUclips and is well worth checking out.
Two comments on this Tonny Randall fell over backwards that was not scripted. Eric Clapton was asked how it feels to be the be st guitarist on the plant and his response wa ask Roy Clark
Roy Clark who is the co-host and host of the TV show Hee Haw for 30 years He is unbelievable recently died in my opinion one of the greatest musicians ever to play stringed instruments such as violin guitar banjo you name it and he was funny too I think one year he was named Entertainer of the Year country music star you will enjoy his videos
Supposedly in their times both jimi hendrix and eddie van halen were asked how it felt to be the best guitarist in the world. Both answered "ask Roy Clark."
This is one of the very few videos ever made that records Roy Clark, who was the absolute master of anything with one or more strings, being deadly serious about his craft. Roy Clark is today mostly remembered from the 70s hillbilly comedy-variety series Hee-Haw. If you want to hear the FULL genius that was Roy Clark, I don't think this was "filmed" for posterity, check out his album Roy Clark Live (1977) that you can find in it's entirety here on RUclips on the Roy Clark channel.
What did I just see? Roy Clark Who is this guy? Roy Clark Was he the greatest guitarist on the planet or something? Yes (others may be higher in certain categories, but "or something" groups them all together).
He's like a virtuos he could play anything even violin banjo mandolin ukulele. That piece is called flamenco Malaguena. He's known from the TV show hee Haw and played mainly country music but this guy can play everything I just heard him play a ZZ top instrumental.
Good to see someone react to this who knows what he's looking at. Check out Roy and Glen Campbell playing Ghost Riders in the Sky, then Glen playing the William Tell Overture.
None of these resctors have been exposed to Spanish Classical Guitar or Flamenco. Not widely popular nowdays. Roys playing is awesome but not totally unique. He is a guitar virtuoso even though he is best known as a Country artist and comedian but his first level playing is No Joke! “12th Street Rag”, “Folsom Prison Blues” and his earliest recordings of “Yesterday When I Was Young”.
One of your followers, Michael Engel, contributed the following story: One time a reporter talked to Van Halen and asked him..."well what's it like being the best guitar player in the world?".... He said...."I don't know...I've never met Mr. Roy Clark" That says it all! 176
I used to watch him on Hee-Haw when I was little boy :) That was a country show with a huge amount of talent!
I watched this as a child. I never forgot it. Additionally, Eddie Van Halen was in absolute AWE of Roy Clark. That says it all.
Crazy that his hand exceeds the frame rate of the camera! Love it.
Roy Clark can play anything with strings !!!
Facts💯 he makes dudes that uses gain and distortion just silly
Nice to the younger Gens appreciate the magic of Roy Clark, he was an amazing!! As a guitar player myself. not even close to his playing, Ive always Love his playing.. I think only people that play guitar can get it.. Thanks Love your expressions. haha..
There was a moment in this clip, very early on, when it stopped being a studio and became a stunned audience for Roy Clark
To say the least!!!
Just the Greatest !!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤ROY CLARK!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've just listened to....THE greatest guitarist who ever lived. PERIOD
This guy was nothing short of a virtuoso on anything with strings: banjo, mandolin, guitar (6- or 12), fiddle/violin. and Fiddle like a violin
Loved watching him all those years ago on "Hee-Haw"!!!!
I’m very familiar with this piece and Roy Clark. When you first paused the video and started it over, I thought ‘you haven’t seen or heard anything yet’.
Roy Clark was next-level talent. I'm not sure that there was anybody better.
He was equally good on the violin and Banjo!!! He was a talented singer, musician and His comedy that he could put in a Performance is Amazing!
IN AN INTERVIEW WITH EDDIE VAN HALEN... HE WAS ASKED HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE THE GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER....
HE ANSWERED... I DONT KNOW... ASK ROY CLARK...BECAUSE HE IS.
Best part is that he got so excited he fogged up his own glasses
Only the true Rock n Roll Gutarists knew how good Roy's masterful string instrument talent was. Love those country boy. Roy was the Master. Oh by the way. I Love your true reaction. Absolutely Mesmerizing
I like going back to the old reactions. Peace, Love!!
Roy was a master at anything with strings! He was recorded to have the fastest pace on the guitar. He was also a comedian and host of the country show hee haw.
Yep before u were born..He started out as an semi pro athlete..Thats not suprising given how he man handles those instruments..!!
Roy was the David Lindley of country music. If it had strings he could crush it.
Roy can wail on a banjo too.
Earlier on this same episode, Roy sang his biggest hit (Yesterday When I Was Young), then played the banjo, then classical on the violin (followed by blue grass). That video is on RUclips and is well worth checking out.
Roy has since passed, but he was incredibly talented, and played everything that had strings!
The only other guitarist who can match Roy,s superhuman right hand technique is the great Django Reinhardt
Love your reactions. " . . what?! . . . . Oh my god! . . "
Check out roy clark 12th street rag
Really enjoyed your reaction! TY
Roy Clark is the GOAT!!!!!!!!!!!
You were right the first time. It is mah-lah-gway-nyah.

Roy Clark is in my top 10 guitarist. He was a musician and master of string instruments, banjo, fiddle guitar and mandolin for sure.
Best picker ever!
According to Eddie Van Halen, yes he is the greatest guitarist on the planet.
Supposedly in their times both jimi hendrix and eddie van halen were asked how it felt to be the best guitarist in the world. Both answered "ask Roy Clark."
What a guitarist, he was amazing fair play! I love the G on a beat logo in the background too! Another great reaction man 🔥
Loved the reaction! Roy was one of the greats, try fulsom prison blues to see his fun side alongside his skill on the guitar. Airways makes me smile.
Roy Clark’s the fastest gutairst
He is the GOAT.
The actors forgot they were being filmed. They were that lost in his playing.

This was hella good 👌💯 how about trying Daveed diggs and Rafael Casal easy come easy go video banger song take it easy out there
I believe that Jimi Hendrix was once asked what it was like being the best guitarist ever and he said, ask Roy Clark!
Roy was king.
I think the guitar needed a cigarette after that
You just discovered the lightning fingers of Roy Clark,...super picker
