Battlefield V - Nordlys Campaign Walkthrough
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 8 ноя 2018
- I'm playing the second campaign of Battlefield 5 called Nordlys. It takes place in Norway and shows local female resistance fighters. In order to prevent that the Germans can use the local production of heavy water for the construction of nuclear bombs, underground fighters are to sabotage a power plant. In my walkthrough you can see whether this succeeds.

@Lo Value Probably not. DICE's argument is that it might as well have been women. On the one hand you can argue that this is misrepresenting history, on the other hand, do you say the same about Call of Duty's excessively misrepresenting of military forces, or any other shooter, ever? It's obvious that for many people the mere fact that it was a woman instead of a man this is somehow a problem to them, but they'll disguise it as "it's misrepresenting history". History has never been accurately represented in a video game. The guy with the highest number of confirmed kills in real life doesn't come close to the average campaign of an average shooter. Why do people suddenly care, let alone to the point of complaining about it.
@Lo Value So exactly what I just said, you're getting up in arms about "falsify history" when that's literally every game already out there. Not sure if there's any other point you're making because your comment is very incoherent. If you're arguing that women being more accepted in war is a bad thing, I see why not. Why do men have to do all the fighting? This is what equality is about, it goes both ways.
Have you seen "The Saboteurs"? (In "Kampen om Tungvannet" in Norway)
@Lo Value Indeed! I just wanted to point out that its a great series!

Imagine being one the commandos that is responsible for the germans never getting their hands on a nuclear weapon
, and then having your story not be told because you weren't a female
Keep that bigotry in perks, women are stunning and brave and we need to remold historical facts so that they get credit for a mission they not participated in. I'll have you know that i graduated top class in social and gender studies and your comment is PTSD to females that didnt participated in such events!
@@youhavetomogit5124 Nice troll!
Ikr. Quite a Hollywood dream here.. If someone has PTSD from you comment they should realize women worked in various other ways that helped the Norwegians fight whole German Camps with searchlights and probably even dogs too. We are only making a claim based in factual evidence, not "Bigotry, social rights, and gender studies." Lol Like seriously. You mean to tell me a Norwegian single female: blasted three technologically advanced German camps, defeated nature, skied down Mt. Witney, blew up a submarine, and saved the world from a Nuclear war? TF out here! Though i will admit; they did a good job sneaking that one in there..
There was a good 6-part movie called "Kampen om Tungtvannet" (sorry if I butchered it). Your NRK television did it and it was really good, kept me on seats edge the whole time.

As a Norwegian, seeing this splits me in two directions: the fact that you are able to re-live the missions carried out in Norway is fantastic and long-awaited: but like this, not so much. It's not bad, it's just kind of disappointing. It has become clear to me that you don't play this game for histrical accuracy, but damn what a wasted oppurtinuty.
Toa Gatanuva ye i had to stop watching it On RUclips because they did shamed company linge that did realy carry out that mission if people want to know the true story Herose of Telemark is the best thing to watch Even tho Hollywood have made mistake in that to
Man spiller da ikke Battlefield for å oppleve historical accuracy. Det finnes spill som Post Scriptum og Red Orchestra for det.
I think it is more important and cool that these stories are told and our language is being used. I honestly don't care if they use women or not. Telling these stories gives people more incentive to learn about the country and it's history. Why they used women? I don't know, I don't know their rationale and I don't really care. But seeing Rjukan and people talking in Norwegian about Norwegian trolls in the forest? That's awesome.
Would be better if they had a team of allied to raid the bases ,actually there were 20 men who raised the heavy water factory ,the mission took place in WW2 but had been much much better if had not followed one man army theme in game and gone for actual team work, yeah I can digest the femal thing but not one man army
@@sarthakgupta6273 If it were a group, I wouldn't stomach the female thing. If it was/as it is a one man army, I wouldn't stomach it being a man nor a one man army. So by breaking the suspension of disbelief they made it work. Having a 18 year old girl taking on a Nazi base is more fun than having some generic dude do it as that would just feel disingenious.
As historically inaccurate this story was due to the absence of females in the actual operations, I enjoyed it dude to the scenery and the environment of Norway. It was truly breathtaking, and I could disregard the inaccuracies to an extent, to enjoy the game.
BUT THAT DOES NOT WARRANT A LACK OF BLOWN UP BODY PARTS OF SOLVIEG’s MUM
There are 2 things they could've changed to make this campaign fine to me. Make it completely fictional rather than base it in World War 2, and nix the cabin scene so that she just throws a knife at his neck while he's reaching for his gun because she's dying of hypothermia and overpowering a healthy soldier is way too ridiculous. I love the basic concept, though, sneaking through enemy lines in the snow to disrupt their operations.
Another inaccuracy is that no German soldiers were killed during the operation this story is based on
@@batozorange then again this is battlefield
@@batozorange 4 german soldiers were confirmed dead during this operation.
2 changes that could've made this work: Make it a completely fictional story that's not based on real world events so that you don't disrespect the men who actually did this. Also, for the Cabin scene, have her just take out a knife and throw it at his neck when he's reaching for his gun. Having her suffering from hypothermia and overpowering him throws suspension of disbelief out the window.
VgamingJunkie they’re disrespecting the men that actually did this and that’s like battlefield 1 (which was an awesome game) is disrespecting the men of WWI
@@jordonj07 its a VIDEO GAME. If you want historical accuracy, go watch a documentary. You’re character is able to throw a knife and kill somebody with it, regenerate health after being shot dozens of times, not suffer deafness after firing a gun, and slaughter dozens of enemies. But seeing a female character? Nah, that’s the real issue here.
@@howdoichangemyusername9802 yeah cause these are based off of real events dummy females had roles in ww2 but not to this extent
@@jordonj07 At least Battlefield 1 had MEN xd
good points!
What bothers me so much is there are real women that were heroes in the war. Like Soviet women snipers who amassed hundreds of confirmed kills each. French underground resistance fighters who were women. Chinese and Korean women who fought the Japanese as well as front line medics for the allies. Instead of telling their stories, BFV replaced men with women.
True but it's a game 🤷🏻♂️
I think if they were to make a war story it actually had to be a true one not some made up shit like this. There was a Soviet air squadron that was named the night witches it was made entirely up of women. That looks like a really interesting story if they were to make an ACTUAL true story.
G Gg or even soviet snipers, many of whom were women. Some of them had 100+ or more confirmed kills
Bat Man yea sure would also be cool
This is what people should be saying rather than getting way too wrapped up with the 'SJW arguments'. It just seems like DICE didn't really think this one through properly. Maybe they had the level all planned out but realised they had no diversity (and they should have some thesedays), so they swapped out the main character. But as said here there are many things inaccurate about this rather than just the 'woman' part. Makes me think people are more concerned about gender than actual accuracy. Nonetheless DICE really should've gone the route you stated.

Operation Gunnerside is famous for many things, one in perticular. There wasn't fired a single round the entire operation. Awesome to see Norway displayed in a game like this though...
im really sad about how they chose to tell the story of the battle of tomvann. the real story in it self is really really good (multiple tv shows about it) so i dont see why they needed to misrepresent it like this
Tungtvann* heavy water, not empty water
It is EA Games. What else did you expect. EA Games is one of those companies that would gladly implement black women among Wehrmacht ranks but then with COD WW2 blooper, they noticed current generation is still too educated for that.
it's a game.. why care?
It's also disrespectful to the women who fought in World War 2, DICE didn't want to be bothered looking up actual events.
So wahman can be represented.
I hate how they replace real life heroes just for the sake of representation
During the operation not a single shot was fired. An accurate representation of the real mission would be too boring for a fps game.

Hello from Norway. It's so nice to have cutscenes with our language with english subtitles instead of having norwegian characters speaking english with english subtitles. Similar to german characters. That's really unique!
As a norwegian I truly enjoyed this campaign, even though the fictional story kinda ruins the realism at times. I'd HIGHLY recommend the mini series "The Heavy Water War". It's what this whole campaign was truly about. An amazing story. A story which a few people probably know little about but would find extremely fascinating and thrilling.
"the fiction ruins the realism" is a quite funny statement :)

Jeg er enig, jeg likte at de inkluderte rjukan i spillet, det er ikke så ofte at norge er med i et andre verdenskrig spill. Jeg har også sett kampen om tungtvannet, veldig bra serie:)
Came here after finnishing this campaign. You know whats so funny, everything is about the heroism to stop germany from making a nuclear bomb. The U.S eventually bombs innocent japanese people to end the war quiker. It is just as the German in the game says. What happens if the British or Americans make it first? There is no good side in war.
and, at this point, no one thinked that atomic bombs are "evil", they think it was just like other bombs (after all, a lot more people were killed by normal bombing)
Winner = good side.
So that U.S. atomic consider as 'good' too
The us estimated that the war whoud go on for years and kill more people than it did by dropping two bombs in Japan, but the people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki were completely innocent. So I agree that the us didn't make a good choice, but by doing so as they did they showed the world how destructive atomic weapons are to the entire species.
Invasion of Japan would have cost the lives of millions upon millions of civilians. Imperial Japan had some of the most fanatical citizens in the history of the world. They were fully prepared to die for the emperor at any cost. This included women and children who had already made plans for an invasion, primarily fighting with household objects such as sharpened broomsticks. The Japanese were dangerous because of their lack of surrender, the US had fought them all the way back to the Japanese mainland and they still would not give up. The atomic weapons were necessary in assuring the war would not continue. Get your facts straight.
@@metalfire86able but the usa has not been the good side of war.
I did’nt think I would play a game that equals Call of Duty, but this is epic. This Norwegian campaign is so intense and utterly moving.
I do agree that the story is being mispresented by having female characters, but I do not want to make that my main focus. I personally think this is a really good story both in real life, and in the game. The game has been getting a great size of critizism, but i thinik they should look at the itself. having female characters in this mission makes the emotions better to the one playing (atleast for me). I am NOT saying that females are more "wimpy" than men, bet rather that they are better at expressing feelings. If you look at this game ignoring the genders, this is amazingly made with minor bugs compared to other games with these graphics.
It works great as a fictional story, I love the concept of just a Mother and Daughter infiltrating enemy lines in the veil of a blizzard to disrupt their operations. Just not as a story based on World War 2.
But I care. White straight men fought that battle.
@@wojtek7871 I don’t care about who fought, I just care about the fact that they replaced them and didn’t credit them.
@@PanzerkampfwagenausfTschechosl frankly, of course I'm American, so I don't have any real ties to this story.. but if there was a game to be made about the American Civil war, and they reversed roles like they happened to do it here, AND not give credit to the actual people who made it even possible to make a videogame out of.. I'd be pretty peeved.
Minor bugs right. Bro i had invisible enemies enemies falling from the sky in front of me. All that on PS5. HAHAHAHAHA
These games become less and less realistic. A knife thrown from 20 meters into the soldier' asses kills them. Then a 6th sense makes them see the enemy soldier's silhouette. What is this, Assassin's Creed or what??
It’s battlefield you idiot stop trying to expect 100% realism you goddamn nerd seriously
Bro didn’t really expect realism from battlefield? Remember that this is the game where women and the disabled go to war
@@williamkirklin6120 but we aren’t expecting 100% realism. We are expecting a war story that at least vaguely portrays the real event. Not a campaign that replaces real characters with a scientist and her daughter bringing down a Nazi heavy water plant
Battlefield was never realistic, tho.
So it's the prequel to Operation Gunnerside led by Norwegian SOE Joachim Rønneberg...
interesting, Dice said they wanted to show events that wasn't showed before, but they put a mission about the sabotage of heavy water, a thing that appears in Medal Of Honor (1999) and Enemy Front
It was also in the multiplayer secret weapons that dice also made In 2003
Not to mention the movies, books, etc about this event. Pretty famous if you ask me.

you committed a war crime, you killed a medic who didn't pose a threat so technically you broke the geneva convention
More like the Geneva suggestion
The Geneva convention came after WW2
This is the problem: I'm from Norway and it's an egalitarian country where both men and women get drafted to the military and our viking mythology talks freely about shield maidens and female warriors, so it's not the fact that the character is a woman, but that this not how the operations went down at all where real men died.
And the fanbase of Battlefield likes realism and they like accuracy which is why they chose the game over CoD, which makes this misrepresentation a betrayal of the fanbase. It's quite simple. Do fucking better Dice and EA, deliver with 2042 or go down the drains of gaming history.

This was the war for the heavy water, you can tell by the factory if you've seen the nrk (norwegian free streaming platform) series about it. And they could've made many things different to make the game more realistic, such as the knife that was thrown didn't always have to hit with the blade, the pistol with the silencer should've made more noice, giving reasonable recoil cinsidering the status you're in, let you play as a male instead of a female, don't make the germans deaf (talking about all the sounds that the germans would've easily heard if it was realistic, such as the snow), make the character get injured the exact place the bullet hit, etc.
An insanely good game overall and myself being a fellow norwegian and absolutely loving norway's history when it comes to wars and stuff, this game was an instand buy for me.

Expectation: Norwegian commandos move in the snow of the water plant to destroy the heavy water before the Germans move it to their country.
Reality: A Norwegian scientist and her little girl destroys the heavy water before the Wehrmacht can move it to Germany.
Reality is often disappointing.
The fact that you had to emphasize "her little girl" shows that you care more about them making the lead character female than you do about plain misrepresentation. Yeah I know Solveig is kinda cute but that's not the point
My question would be this, do you dislike the general lack of historical accuracy or the fact that she is a woman? I mean, the North Africa mission is as fantastic and inaccurate as this one is: Loosely based on similar facts, have a lone ranger type character that doesn't have military training, single-handedly defeat dozens of German soldiers and armored vehicles. Neither story is believable or historical, and yet, for some reason I don't see many people criticising that first chapter.
I'm not sure where you stand here, but I'm amazed at the bigotry of people unable to accept historical inaccuracy when the main characters are women, but totally ok with the same thing if the protagonist is a male.
@@sanda386 it's historical accuracy, but I guess I'm just a mysoginist right lmao! I don't care what people called me on the internet.

I'm pretty well informed about the real story and also have watched different fictionalized versions of it as well as documentaries, so I think the game could have been better served by higher accuracy and being closer to the facts, while having a female protagonist is the least of my worries, unlike many comments here that could care less if the lead is using laser weapons as long as he's not a female.
@@sanda386 well sorry my bad. But yeah if they want to tell WW II story like this one in Norway where not many people know it, why don't they just tell it as it is with the people involved in it without putting fictional character in it? @@anxiousseal556 I agree I'm just fascinated by how there are dozens of points to be made showing the lack of historicity, verisimilitude, accuracy, etc. Not only on this chapter but the others too. Yet so many comments just focus on one of the points.

A lot of "history experts" complaining about historical inaccuracy but solely based on the fact that the protagonist is a female. Put a male in her place and suddenly everything is ok. Even if the story is still unbelievable and very loosely based on historical fact. Way more worried about females being represented in a place they weren't than about telling a story that's closer to the real one. Some comments are about better representing the real events, but they're few and far between.
I'd ask this question: Would people complain more if it was the real story but with a woman saboteur in the group, or this fictional one but with a man? And I think we all know the "controversial" one would still be the former.
@@sanda386 I mean people got upset when Women were added to a historically accurate position in BF1, despite many people saying it's not true, I remember it vividly.
Same thing with the Black soldiers and the one on the cover.
It really does make you wonder if this is really about Historical Accuracy at all. I'm sure some people *are* upset because of that, but most seem to just hate the women in the game despite the fact it never claimed to be realistic in the first place.
In BF V or COD WW2 I don't feel like I'm into real WW2 like it was the case in COD 2 and COD WAW !!!
agreed with Waw!
Esse...joguei muito!!!

Ok, u do this stealth, i literally just killef everybody, and that really didn’t work out
Killing everyone worked for me but I also disabled alarms before launching my full on attack
@@jaigautam6818 I killed everyone, then disabled alarms 😅 backwards, yes.. but I just totally thought I'd have to essentially fight my way back through the places again, which.. yeah I did, but not to the extent that the first mission had you do.. where you basically go through the same places like 2-3 times (give a little grace.. I haven't played the beginning mission in almost a year, so it's a little fuzzy.) I know you fight through it to get to a specific point, then you have to fight your way back through.. that's what made me decide to disable all other alarms after I killed everyone on the first trip through
That stupid heat detector makes this game so easy ans non réal .
when you handle FG-42. *i finnaly know if the enemies are germany*
This called stealth 👌
Been wanting a Heroes of Telemark PC game with Red Dead style graphics for a loooong time but this?? i mean its okay but its so damn linear, theres no sense of scale, plus the character models and stuff have a slightly cartoonish vibe which aint really my thing.
Hopefully one day the Telemark story will get a game all to itself but until then this will have to do :(
Hell yeah
Is it just me or is the door closed at 50:06 I can't find a way to open it
As a Norwegain, i found his accent kinda weird ngl
so some little girl did this on her own? at least give us a choise to be somewhat accurate
Deal with it.
Maybe she did. Little men compose the other Battlefield V gameplays, too.
nemesis Then have missions where women are the main focus? This is just disingenuous and a spit in the face for the actual mission and those who died on the lead up to the mission. Ever heard of the Night Witches? A great batch of women there. The Warsaw uprising not only had women, but also children take part in it. There are plenty of stories to share that involve women in actual history
Comrade Cody Okay. But why are you do butthurt about a woman doing it let her be and play the game which has many other great things to focus on
nemesis The reason I am so “butthurt” is that this right here is not right. It’s not what actually happened, there are none of the original men who risked their life and died in this operation, this is trying to force a message as not a lot of people know of the heavy water sabotage that was a lead factor in winning the war and making sure that Germany doesn’t get atomic weapons before the west. So what EA and Dice did was an actual slap across the face of the men who actually helped us win the war. This story here, that EA and Dice put out is a work of fiction. This is not what happened and how many people do you think believe a civilian and mother and daughter saved the war by themselves? And not nearly the entirety of the Norwegian government. It’s EA and Dice’s fault for not including anything with actual women in it. A great one would have been the Warsaw Uprising. That’s not taught in the US and even in Europe, Poland’s efforts are highly forgotten about and scuffed over. Hell, if they had that Uprising as a mission and actually had balls, they could have had us play a young, teenage or even just a child. That could also be a girl or a women if you’d like. So that’s why I’m “butthurt” friend... because of their disrespect of history and flossing over anything that could have actually fit their agenda if they wanted
