G'day from Sydney, Australia. I'm very happy to have at last stumbled across a travel channel that is REAL. Where I get to see and meet the real people of a country narrated by what must be the most linguistically talent man I have ever come across...I mean, here he is teaching a Chinese girl how to speak Swahili in her own language. I love your laid back style. Fuck, the Russians are everywhere...I used to love going to Thailand until they arrived in their thousands and took over the place. I was once sitting with a small beach bar owner shooting the breeze and when he found out I was Australian, he told me how the Russians operate in Thailand. They arrive on chartered flights (so they don't fly on Thai airlines) and then they normally book into Russian owned resorts, their stay is paid for in Russia. They bring in as much Vodka they can carry and don't support the local bars like his. I kid you not, I was sitting next to this lady who sold BBQ corn on the cob...just after she finished for the day, she left her stall with some embers still glowing in her small BBQ, and this big fat Russian )with a beer gut that would hold sextuplet babies) and his wife arrive with their smelly Russian sausages and start to cook their dinner using her stuff...they then pulled out their vodka and sitting on the stall owners chairs began to eat their dinner. Fuck, how mean spirited...you come to a country, and don't spend a cent supporting the local's business...and my worst is to see them beat these poor street vendors down when buying touristy trinkets. Now, I have nothing against the Russian people...they are wonderful when they are at home, but when they are tourists in Thailand, then they can all just fuck off back to Siberia. If you are going to travel, then FFS support the local economy...it's really not that hard. But back to my new found friend here, he knows how treat the local people...with respect and dignity and by speaking in their language. I've travel all over the world, I was born in Africa, have lived in SE Asia & India, and now call Australia home. Tommy, keep on truckin mate...you're giving Americans a good name again. All is not lost. Safe travels.
I love to watch everyone’s face when he replies in the native language of what ever tge language that person speaks, look at the faces lije WHAT!!!!! It’s a special skill
Great video, as always! I am starting way back on you journey, to see what you have been up to. Thanks, brother. Also, you might be the first American who I see (rightly) distinguishing between socialism and communism.

Thanks, was looking for that word
I liked Zinzibar thank you salute from SOMALIA.
Love the "bald and bankrupt" reference.
That goat at 13:00 had me cracking up!
3:05 Bao is a strategical and mind-challenging game comparable to chess, though there are simplified versions. You should learn if you get a chance.
Yeah I wanted to learn how it was played, but those guys didn't really explain it. I'll try and look it up, I had never heard of it before
Very interesting and an eye opening.
Thanks ...
I love to watch everyone’s face when he replies in the native language of what ever tge language that person speaks, look at the faces lije WHAT!!!!! It’s a special skill
Very good bro don t stop i love your videos 🤗👍
Why would you give a cow milk that got me laughing so hard...
Hahaha yea that baffled me too..give a cow milk?? Hahaha...perhaps he meant "maji" (water)??
Tommy is really a genius language wise.
Great video, as always! I am starting way back on you journey, to see what you have been up to. Thanks, brother.
Also, you might be the first American who I see (rightly) distinguishing between socialism and communism.
Medicine man shook you down LOL
I know right. As soon as I read..bring him here to take pictures..I was like "ooh no" ..hes going to get hussled.
I wouldnt have been so trusting. Luckily they're not violent.
Witch doctor
I love your Wonderful traveling videos. ❤❤
She is beautiful 😍. I see that you have a good communication.
Tommy, I am presently surprised that you speak Mandarin in additional to the local African languages. 👍👍👍 Where did you learn your Mandarin ?
This reminds me of your fellow youtuber, Siawma, from New York who also speaks multiple languages.
Tommy, congratulations. You are amazing !
Blessings from Malaysia.
Yeah, he speaks "Chinese" and " local African" language. I'm trying to learn Chinese.
He spent a few years in China.
he said he lived there 6 years
@Goblin Slayer for real thats horrible
Okay, dude, I've watched 3 videos of yours not fully was in the flow yet but you've got you're languages quite spread out man haha Jezus, Swahili, okay, English, okay, Russian? hmmmkay, but Chinese was the last one I expected haha damn, nice. I'm envious of you being able to chat around with so many parts of the world. Keep up! I like it! Greetings, from the Netherlands! :)
I have a few more crazy ones I haven't even gotten to speak yet. I have issues..
This is rally cool, you should go live sometimes.
Wow you speak so many not so easy languages!!! 🤓
I really thought you were going to get rolled by the guys outside the medicine doctors place. You are pretty lucky. You looked nervous as well.
Tommy that was 'GOOD fun ' as we say in Hawaii ! Aloha from Maui. I had some moments in West Africa where u just had to walk by faith. Even in Thailand on rides, where I had no idea where I was... but some how gonna get home safe. Leah Tunkara
Nice. Yeah you really have to develop a feel for the situation here, but Zanzibar is usually safe. I hope I can get to West Africa sometime as well
@@SabbaticalTommy the more I look at clips of Zanzibar the more I want to go.
Let me help you a bit here😃
Beach= ufukwe
Pwani= coast
You asked for "pwani" and Hamidi showed it to you🤣🤣
Some people told me pwani is a word for beach too but I'll be saying ufukwe from now on!
@@SabbaticalTommy and to help you a bit further
Ufukwe= beach
Fukwe= beaches
Ufukweni= at the beach
So if you want to ask someone to take you to the beach you would say " Unaweza kunipeleka ufukweni?"
But if you want to ask were is the beach you would ask " ufukwe uko wapi?"
Omg why am I dying watching this? Hilarious! How fun would this be
3:00 - 4:00 Makunduchi village language called Kikae (Kae) just like SWAHILI which is a broken SWAHILI one.
The SWAHILI words being reversed when speaking it, it's veeeeeery difficult to understand this Kae language even if you know kiswahilini !!!
That's so wild. I didn't even know Zanzibar had other languages besides Swahili. The linguistic diversity in Tanzania (and Africa) is crazy
Nah you are wrong. You Actually can understad it and most of Zanzibaris do understand even if they are not from Southerneastern of Unguja . It just needs attention Since a lot of words used and pronounce d differently unlike Standard Swahili.
Tommy , apart from the talents you have to have some kind of photographic memory to be able to remember all of the languages you are able to speak ! Not getting words mixed up is a gift on its own ... A nice job with the U N beckons !
13:00 i think that goat was asking for your help! 😂
Man you are all right. I am not introducing you to my wife but your all right. Please keep doing what you do. LOL
Watching an American teach a Chinese Kiswahili in Mandarin has got to be one of the most hilarious things on the internet 😂
How many language do you speak?
The Islamic hat is called "kibagarashia" in Swahili
I knew there had to be a name! Asante
The correct word is “balaghashia”
I have been saying it wrong all these years as kibarakashee haha thanks for also teaching me
Sabatical but i think that's a Swahili vocabulary that you don't necessarily have to know, but you should know it 😂
How many languages does this guy know?
AWESOME😂😂😂😂👍👍👍the whole village came out to greet you😍😍😍😍😍they love you💖💖💖💖EVERY WHERE😂😂😂😂
Nice ride and great pick on the Beautiful Chinese girl , she has great personality and will GREATLY add your popularity among Asian viewers to subscribe your channel.
Nice tour and PRICELESS by Hamidi , RARE places and only few tourist got to view the beach lagoon .You must be the Lucky one..
You have God given talents to make strangers SMILE around you , am learning to be like that, it LIGHTENED the HEART 💌💖💖💕 😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍
Looking forward to MORE RARE PLACES where tourists dont go in DAR
Maybe MKURANGA Pwani😁 ?
There will be some surprises in Dar for sure
5:13 "dukan" is also store in hindi
And u speak Zanzibar language.. that's great
When you asked a child if she was going school or not she said yes but when you asked her 'Lini'you have confused her because' Lini 'means when but it's for future if you want to ask her about the present or time you should ask' saa ngapi' or 'wakati gani?' like saa ngapi unaenda shule/school? Or Wakati gani utaenda/unaenda shule/ skuli? And not Lini unaenda school? You could have used Lini if let's say the Child was on holiday and you want to know when they will be back to school or maybe if they were off sick.
Asante
