The latest trend in new or stadium renovations is downsizing the capacity for more premium seating and improve the stadium “experience” for the spectators, especially those willing to pay for it. Vanderbilt is also downsizing its stadium from 40K to almost 29K but will have more premium seating/suites/etc.

This guy is not as smart as he thinks. The stadium being reduced from 58K to 50K will not keep Memphis from a P4 conference. It will still be significantly bigger and nicer than SMU, UCF, Houston stadiums who just made the jump and stadiums at numerous other schools already in Ps.
And, you’d rather have a stadium with too few seats than excess seats cuz by lowering the supply you increase the selling price of seats you do have. It would be GREAT to one day have a need to add 10K more seats due to demand, but that’d be a long ways off - after moving to P4 and having success there.
Memphis doesnt currently need a bigger stadium, but needed improvements to create better fan experiences (vs watching at home on TV). They need a smaller one and I’d encourage the admin to tarp off sections to reduce capacity to 30-35K until that is shown to be too few.
Tickets need to be made more scarce to make them more valuable. Today, the supply outpaces demand lowering value & not forcing people to invest in season tickets, cuz they know they can always get one at the last minute.

A smaller capacity would be crazy if JSU was still in Southern Heritage Classic. I kind of like the Liberty Bowl from the late 2010s before the changes

Why are they reducing capacity . Its also is used as a bowl game do with less seating for bowl games ticket prices will go up . Usually on stadium renovatiins you increase seating

You obviously know very little about the renovations nor the fact that Memphis never fills the stadium so why add more capacity??

Why do they not fill the stadium . With the population of Memphis and you cant fill a 60,000 seat stadium . Must not like college football there .

There is so much wrong with the information (?) in your video, I don't even know where to begin. The amount of money, where the money is coming from, what was proposed vs. what is actually being built you got all wrong. Please read and research before you make a video. Other than showing the images, I don't think you got anything right as far as your take on what's happening here in memphis.
