She is actually using clarifying lotion 1.0 not 1! I worked for Clinique for a while and this is actually the clarifying lotion for sensitive, dry skin and is alcohol free. It is a thicker, more hydrating formula.
You're right! I worked for Clinique as well almost 20 years ago and back then it was called Mild Clarifying lotion. It was alcohol free and had a milky texture and it was the one I always tried to sell and personally used myself. 1,2,3, and 4 are basically bottles of colored rubbing alcohol. Clinique will always have a place in my heart, but those Clarifying Lotions (except 1.0) either need to be reformulated, or they need to go.
What I love about Susan is she is so kind and when she has an opinion she shares it kindly and doesn’t judge. I feel like so many skin care RUclipsrs are just really harsh and I love that Susan isn’t that.
My brother complimented my skin and asked me to get him some good products. I'm loving using the ordinary products and he is in his late 30s. He seems to have normal to dry skin with fine lines and some sun damage. I'd love to see a video for a simple men's routine with accessible products! Thanks Susan for helping me get glowing skin!!!
I know this going look weird but that is my favourite video because she actually sings while Emilia is talking her make up off which is very entertaining ❤️❤️❤️❤️
that makeup after 2 cleanses - it usually is something that has been left on the neck or under the ears (hairline maybe). with water we are more careful to not make a puddle on the bathroom floor. with the toner on a cotton pad - we go EVERYWHERE.
I actually use a cloth all the time to get my cleansing balm or oil off. To be honest I find it way more easy than emulsifying and rinsing the whole stuff off. And it is less messy too. 🤭
I meant to checkout Emilia but Susan looks extra beautiful in this video and I end up looking at Susan the whole time. Great hair & makeup. Susan is a very beautiful woman inside and out.
Using a wash cloth is the best and only way I wash my face. Splashing it with water only never feels as clean and relaxing (holding a warm cloth over your face!) Plus the wash cloth does a tiny bit of exfoliation so you don't have to go in with harsh exfoliation products if you're sensitive.
Hey, Susan! Could you please review Sutton Foster's routine? It's been about 5-6 months since it was posted, but I've been binging "Younger" and am obsessed! She's just delightful 💖
Same..!🙆♀️ The Clinique moisturizer feels really cooling but it's not that much moisturizing/hydrating as my usual moisturizer; my skin is combination but mostly dry so I need a richer product.
I expect the cleansers worked fine but she wasn't going into her hairline with them and people always do with the toner so that's where they will find the leftovers.
I feel like celebrity (harper's bazaar) skin care routines have gotten kinda predictable, it might be cool to see you react to other youtubers routines even smaller channels that don't have a ton of subscribers
I loved the cleansing balm but its too expensive for a wash off. Now I use grapeseed oil and it actually improved my oily skin. Clinique has nice products but usually overpriced. Nevertheless, my fav lipstick is from them.
I use Albolene as a makeup removing balm. That one does require a wipe of some kind to remove all the oil and gunk before using an actual face wash. If I could afford to buy one of those cleansing balms that turns milky and just rinses off, on a regular basis, I would. I love the Clinique one. I've purchased it a couple times, but I wear makeup and sunscreen everyday for work, and it's just not realistic to be purchasing it so regularly for some of us.
You should purchase the good molecule cleansing balm , or Juno co cleansing balm or the clean zero cleansing balm… or you can try cleansing oil especially Korean ones . They are pretty affordable
I know so many people that love moisture surge but it makes my skin LOSE ITS MIND. I get a terrible reaction and get little bumps all over that dry out and flake off. I have no idea what the ingredient is that does it but this product is a big no no for me. It takes my skin like a full 2 weeks to recover from it ☹️
This is going to sound weird, but I don't know how to do "face makeup" but seeing you really makes me want to learn. You look amazing (not just your makeup lol) ❤️ Also, very good video, appreciate the work you put into it!
I always hear that you should apply skincare to damp skin but what about before you apply actives? I’ve always heard/read that you should have completely dry skin before applying retinol in particularly. What are your thoughts?
Both statements are true. Generally, damp skin helps the ingredients (therefore also the actives) to penetrate the skin deeper / deeper layers of the skin. Additionally, you hydrate your skin really well. When using a retinoid it is advised to apply it to dry skin (long-time users may apply on damp skin when being used to) because of the same reason: it increases the efficiency of the active. Retinoids are generally quite potent and therefore have a high potential for irritation regardless of the potency of the product. When applying it on damp skin the ingredients will still get absorbed by the skin, but not THAT deeply. Retinoid beginners are also recommended that they buffer their retinoids with their moisturiser in order to minimise the risk of irritation. (Conteractioning)
I love Take the Day Off! It's still one of my favourite cleansing balms! However, irrespective of the cleansing balm or how long I use it, a double cleanse won't remove my makeup unless I use micellar water in between my cleansing balm and gel cleanser steps. Double cleansing is great for when you just wear SPF (tinted or not) but makeup is a different thing.
Susan! As much as I love watching your videos, I just have to stop it for a while because I have to buy every single thing you like and recommend ... Now I found out I need a foam roller 🙄 My bank account's feeling frustrated 😆
Is anyone else way too paranoid to put in earplugs at night? Like I feel like I need to hear if smoke alarms or security alarms go off or if something happens outside, idk. But the earplugs just make me anxious lol
The fact that she has to mention that she has her own skincare line is ridiculous to me. 🙄 People really drag her brand and didn’t even try the products but they use a brand whose parent company is completely unethical.
It's like all of them wants to keep on commenting without completely seeing the products or the whole thing, nowadays these reaction videos are starting to get really disappointing.
Hi Susan!! I need help :( I recently started working out again and I’ve had a terrible break out, and I didn’t realize it started once I started strictly working out on a regular basis… is this common? How can I take care of my skin for workouts so that I don’t break out? I also have to use a mask while working out and I feel that’s a huge contributor to my break out :/
I hope it's just the cut but she cleanses way too fast. Give the cleansers time babe 👍😊 And dear people get your night masks washed regularly, clean your mobile phones and your brushes!!! They are bacteria spreaders if you don't.
I totally understand why you started making these commentary videos on these “celeb” skincare videos. It’s really frustrating that Vogue gives a platform for these millionaires to be putting out false information out to the masses . Actually infuriating, the further along into the video I got the most annoyed I got lol.
Hi Susan , my skin didn't like Clinique balm .It is dry/dehydrated sensitive combination acne prone skin yet doesn't enjoy oils. Please share alternate products after Bioderma Micelar Water ?
have you tried just using like jojoba oil or any oil with high linoleic acid content for the first cleanse?(if cleansing oils/balms aren’t working for you) korean micellar waters are usually more gentle so you could try those out¿
@xenab Someone with acne prone skin should probably stay away from pure oils like jojoba seed oil. While jojoba seed oil is less comedogenic than coconut, olive oil etc., it doesn’t have emulsifying properties that a commercial cleansing oil/balm does. She runs the risk of not getting all the oil off on the second cleanse. I prefer micellar water but if she wants to oil cleanse, it’s better to purchase a pre-made cleansing oil/balm instead of a straight up oil (jojoba, hemp, Argan etc.).
@@kendallstark4302 I use Bioderma Micelar water. Which product should be next? I use Dr Sam's Flawless cleanser but sometimes tight feeling. Cerave & Cetaphil feel lotion like and don't rinse off nicely. I never enjoyed the oily balm by Clinique and all these videos cause mind to get confused and tempted . Wish for lovely products
I also think Clinique is underrated. The Clinique cleansing balm is my favorite
its because of self claimed specialist like Hyram 😂😂
Clinique is amazing
Its because it has some plastic in it but I don't mind balms that have a bit of plastic in it.
Me too!!! I don't hear enough influencers talking about that balm.

This toner doesn't include alcohol, it's an improved version for sensitive skin.
