Can you please guide about getting a rental apartment in Hatfield? Is it hard finding one in Hatfield since you live far away? Secondly, can you give me an idea about rental amount comparison for a 2 bed apartment/house in Hatfield and in Luton?
It is slightly higher in Hatfield compared to Luton and varies from property to property based on the property's condition and size. Yes, I didn't go for Hatfield because of the price and also It takes ages for any agent to respond for a viewing of the apartment. As international students, the options are limited for accommodation and if you are moving here with your family then I would advise you to move here first, find a job, and once you have the offer letter then start hunting for an apartment otherwise you will find it very difficult to secure accommodation for your family.

I m interested in getting a new one as they normally have less issues. Moreover, I hv looked at rightmove/zoopla as well but getting the idea that it should better be done physically once one reaches there as compared to contracting online. Is it so?

Since you are moving here It would be better to have this discussion with your agent. You are correct, the property I live in is new and it is a 1BHK apartment "Unfurnished" costing us 1,025 pounds a month. In Hatfield not sure about the new property but when I was looking for 1 BHK unfurnished and furnished apartments ranging between 1,200 to 1,500 pounds. I believe any new construction will cost you a similar amount 20% +- there are added costs involved as well. Finally, It will not be difficult for you to get suitable accommodation as you are coming here on a work visa holding an offer letter. The agency will cross-check with the company you are working for to ensure the authenticity of your employment. Hope this helps.
