Hey Doc so I’ve had a shield for awhile and love it but at my age I do things that I wish I hadn’t like clicked on restrictions and now it’s asking me for a code and honestly I can’t remember back that far and can’t get my apps back? So I bought a new one but how do I fix the old? Do I need to contact Nvidia? Thanks love your video
Love the Shield TV, have twice as many apps on it…added my external drive with 150 4K movies…this is the device that Firefox Browser kicks butt(need a mouse)

Background Apps and Process
DefSquid
Downloader(the must have)
You’ll want Aptoide TV to get earlier version of some apps…cough. Firefox!
I have IPVanish because you can get 256 GB of Cloud storage with it free…that’s a log in a blanket…greatness
@@michaelsweeney6836 Please tell me how you get your Shield to play the movies on your external drive. My Shield can find the external drive but there is no option (that I can see) to list or play the files. Thanks.
@@willwardnyc does your Nvidia Shield recognize as an external drive? Yes…then you should be able to open it up from settings. I use MX Pro but you can use VLC Free too. You can even open it up in KODI…..KODI rocks if you have a 7.1 surround system….the others will play in 5.1 or stereo, depending how you what format you downloaded the movies.
I have 140 4K movies on a 8 TB hard drive and it’s the biggest reason I love Nvidia Shield.

Hi Doc. I'm a newbie and a ludite which can be very frustrating.
Can you do a video on connecting a Windows 10 computer on a local area network to the Nvidia Shield Pro. I want to network BACK to my HDD on my computer where I keep my videos. Generally I use Kodi or VLC to play my videos, I find Plex is a little amazonesque and takes over from me. Thanks

Downloader didn't work for me, acted like I needed a optional keyboard/pad to go through instillation.
Great videos. I used it to install my new Nvidea Shield. However, I cannot figure out how to PLAY videos that I have saved on a portable hard drive. The Shield finds the video and says there is no storage on it (it is full) but it cannot list and then play these videos. Can you please cover this in an upcoming video. Thanks.
Doc Squiffy I have a new NVidia Shield pro TV. Your information on how to setup the NVidia shield pro tv its not good. You have not explained on where to put the ethernet cable and the others two. For a person who has no idear on how to setup its not good
The Ethernet connection is to the right of the HDMI connection. From right to left: power connection, Lan or Ethernet, HDMI, 2 USB ports!
