Why put your streaming box right on top of the information you’re showing? So frustrating!!
I see why it can annoy you but, u can still see & hear what he is saying though. I'm not familiar with making videos, can he choose where the box shows up on his screen?
Haha yeah this was a poor choice of the PIP location. Literally covering the menus hes going over with a talking head. We need to see the menus and have no need for a face stream. Definitely an oversight because on any editing or streaming software, its a 15 second change. Content is still decent though.

One of the most annoying things about Shield is the Home Screen ads - for apps I don’t even use, inappropriate for kids, etc. we’re looking for a way to turn them off
Dude I thought this video was going to show me what I can turn off and leave on to optimize my shield for better faster performance but it’s literally just some guy turning off shit that just annoys him . It’s literally just personal preference it does nothing to help the shield perform better. What is sad is I kept watching thinking he was going somewhere with this and was about to blow my mind instead it just leaked out my ears . 9 minutes 24 seconds I will never ever get back ever that time is literally gone I have aged and now I am closer to death . Wasted my life completely wasted just completely wasted what have I done with my life !!!!!!! Just sitting here watching stupid freaking videos why??????!!! Oh shit a markiplier video !!!!! I love that guy
I was just scrolling through the comments to find this so I didn't have to say it. Those were some basic ass settings too. There is a lot more I had to change to get it working the way I wanted.

I followed all your recommendations and my streaming speed on my Nvidia shield went from almost 400mbps to 25mbps. I am going back to the original settings
And why exactly did that happen? I can't think of a reason why the settings modified here had anything to do with it... Did you recover the original speed?
It could have also been a temporary internet speed you know?

Turn the transitional scale to .5 in developer options, that will make shield a lil bit snappier, but don't turn off all the way
Can I ask the reason not to turn them off? I saw tech doctor say to turn them off

Doc, "NVIDIA Share" is the Shield's built-in video, audio, and screen capture software. It can be used to record TV Shows, video gaming, etc. It basically captures anything that appears on the Nvidia Shield home screen - even RUclips videos. Turning it off disables this very useful function.
You need to move your PnP so that you are not obscuring what you are showing.
I'am thinking that disconnecting blue tooth access would disconnect my nvidia blue tooth remote.
This needs updating also with what to turn off and on to allow 3rd apps , with so many people dumping fire stick and getting new devices , a shield update video is needed

Got the shield pro, nice image, but can you tell me is there a way to disable android TV shutdown? It is really annoying causing you to stop the film halfway through to disable the shutdown (what ever button you use, it also actions the button as well as the pop up).
Also deezer stops playing 5 minutes after powering down projector (use this as audio at night on soundbar)

i bought mine like 5 years ago, i’ve used a firestick, Roku & Chromecast and this is the best Box your money can buy and you can cast stuff to the NVIDIA Shield, i’ve never had an issue with mine so go buy one you won’t regret it.

Hey Doc, long term subscriber here. I turned on m shield this evening and Jodi was just gone. Nowhere to be seen! Also my security and restrictions option has gone too. Do you know what’s happened here? Done some research and somehow Google has changed or deleted applications on my device. This happened once before but it came back. Is there anything I can do?
My shield is now kinda slow and is on the black screen a lot. Might have to try updating it.

Question I have storage of 3tb external how can I uninstall the external storage from Nividia shield and use on my Pc. It seems as if my storage is tied to my shield with apps attached how can I fix this.
I have 2017 model and whatever update happened a few months ago it won’t play any tv streaming apps !! I ended up uninstalling all apps and updates and retried everyone till it worked and it ended up being the chrome cast update but now it’s back to not playing ! Hi Doc, my 2019 shield is running out of space.i use to have a 128gb sandisk flash drive, out of nowhere the USB stopped working, is it better to use a hard drive,I am reading that usb flash drives don't work anymore.
*Doc, I'm done with shields, my 2017 Pro 500gb took a dive into continuous "Boot- Loop" hell. Now my 2019 that replaced the 2017 picked up something or possibly the power supply has that one's screen flickering and won't stop, totally useless and another $200.00 down the tube, Any thoughts; I've tried holding the power button for 5-6 seconds that another person posted here, and I actually got it to stabalize long enough to start updates then for some reason half -way through the 7 app updates it began flashing again... frustrated*
Try a different hdmi cable and or a different hdmi port on your tv. Worked for me.
This was really excessive on disabling more stuff than is likely to be worthwhile, and really light on actually useful tips to improve the UX, such as remapping buttons. A waste of 8 minutes of my time (well, 4, since I was smart enough to watch at 2x)

Doc Squiffy , I just got an Nvidia Sheild Tablet , it is Junk ! as far as I am concerned , this thing is a real Disappointment , I must say .
I know they are Old now but at least you would think it would work a lot better than what I am experiencing . this thing is so slow and lazy , I put a 64 gig SD card in it and it still makes no difference , I can't even load the dji fly app on it , I try the old dji go_4 app and that wouldn't even load either , what a piece of junk !! I am so disappointed at this tablet !

Dude, for some reason, last night between 4AM and 7AM when everyone was asleep, my shield accessed 56gb of data from Apple. What. The. Fuck. I don't even have the apple tv app.

@@DocSquiffy Figured it out. Screen saver was set to Aerial Dream, so it was just nonstop streaming 4k video from apple for the screen saver for HOURS. No idea why, no one was up or watching it, the tv wasn;t even on, and the shield is set to go to sleep after 20 minutes (and start the screen saver after 5 mintues).
For some reason the shield woke up and just decided to keep streaming the screen save. Wife told me when she woke up and turned on the TV it was on that screen saver.
So...yeah that's another setting to disable if you have any kind of data cap.

Is there anyway to get britbox on the shield? It's not on my playstore and when I try to install it using a APK it has the britbox loading screen but then it kicks me
